what dimensions would you consider to be a one handed phone

I have a Galaxy Note 5 right now with a fucked screen and a shitty battery. I'm thinking about getting an LG V20 since it has stuff like a removable battery, headphone jack, and SD card slot. Some people are warning against certain refurbs, though. How can I tell what's decent and what's trash?

Attached: vee-twentie.jpg (500x500, 14K)

4.5 inch phone is perfect
why is every phone now 6inch tablet wannabe

my xs max is one handed

LG V20 running Oreo with aftermarket 6500 milliamp battery. Never buying a phone without a replaceable battery or SD card slot. All this new glass back, waterproof, wireless charging gimmick bullshit can fuck off

how big are your hands

i got rid of my old phone so I can't show you how it looks in my hand now

>6500 milliamp battery
Isn't that a little risky to not use OEM ones?

roasties. they can't use smaller phones one handed anyway, and they have massive purses to drop their phones into for the 5 nanoseconds a day they aren't using them.

how do you choose a phone, you look up for the specs i assume but other than RAM i dont know what else to look up for.

Battery
screen size

who /waitingforiphonexr/ here

set a budget, ask yourself features you want, i.e sd card slot, dual sim, 3.5mm jack, good camera, powerful enough for gaming, oled screen, . Then filter out the ones that you dont like.

>alright then bruce
Cheers mate, got a solid kek from that.
Ok thats good its developer friendly because as far as i can see its the only one easily available here, plus i can get one brand new in box for $260 dollarydoos (i think thats $180ish US).
Though if I have been fine with MIUI 7.3 or something which is like android 5.1 would i be happy with LGs version?
Plus I really dont know if i care that Oreo would be the last as that should cover me with games and such being supported for years (likely longer than ill have the phone). So i probably don't need custom ROMs and such, i guess other than if i have to for GCam.
Though it is nice to know that if i need to this one will have decent support, so thank you for the good pile of info i appreciate it

Changing the "minimum width display" on my phone (Android 8.0 OS) to non-pleb settings makes all the keyboards and icon packs that come with Samsung phones not work.
What's the best downloadable keyboard/icons?

>he rooted his phone
Samsung Knox and Pay are fucking cool. Custom ROMs aren't worth it if you're not a poorfag.
>inb4 NPC meme

>tfw used to my iphone SE
>all the phones I want are 6~ inch screens
will I get used to this? I'm so addicted and comfy using my phone with one hand

iPhones are fucking shit and unless you've installed a better OS on it you can't do anything.
>will I get used to this
Who the fuck cares. You're already an Apple dick-sucking faggot anyway.

the ones I want are all android though, calm your autism

I want an XR, but I want Android on it.

pixel 3

Can anyone recommend me a good Keyboard or Icon changing app or something?

Do they come in red?

Getting the Galaxy S10 next year. Bezeless no notch displays pretty much confirmed.

I some how doubt that. Got sources?

Both OnePlus 6 and Pixel 2 XL have the same price in my country. Is it safe to say that the Pixel would be the better buy?

Attached: oneplus-6-vs-google-pixel-2-xl-1.jpg (1600x1200, 399K)

Attached: Pixel 3.jpg (2100x1052, 509K)

Slightly, slightly smaller screen > having the goddamn notch

If you live in the US, the Pixel has more LTE band support.

If that ends up being true, that will kill apple.

any chance of xperia phones going on sale for cyber monday or holidays or should I just pull the trigger now

you can hide them

Is it worth rooting my phone to get rid of the annoying T-mobile and Samsung advertisements every single time I boot up the phone?
Or is it not worth it because no Samsung Pay?

Wait for S10. Camera and sensors all under the screen....fucking somehow.

Yes

I currently have the Note 5 and this will be my last TouchWiz device. Samsung phones just doesn't age gracefully like my previous Nexus 4.

When you change the Minimum Display Width, the downloadable Keyboard and Icons stop working correctly. Can ANYBODY here recommend me a good app for keyboards and icons?

Call me retarded here but what's the difference between TouchWiz and Samsung Experience Home? Why would Touchwiz matter at all when you use a launcher anyway?
I don't get what your complaint is with the Note 5. But the newer models like Note9 work fine.

Literally retarded. iOS just fucking works compared to every shitty android phone I had before my iPhone.

>there are people here who don't use stock android (either through Android One or custom roms)

Attached: 1497246778236.jpg (800x804, 56K)

Samsung Experience is literally just a reskinned TouchWiz, it's still as unoptimized and bloated as ever. It's just perplexing to see them cripple their great hardware with shit software like who the fuck wants to use Bixby when Google Assistant is 10x better? The only thing they did right is the Samsung Browser.

>I don't get what your complaint is with the Note 5

It slowed down over time and it didn't even get Oreo.

>This piece of shit works perfectly!
>What does it do?
>It's just shit! Perfectly functioning shit!
I'll stick with something fucking cool that looks and feels like I need it to. Have fun with the same ugly forced interfaces though.

yes what

Is there any phone as "small" as the first iphones were? Optimally with some recent version of android, and a fingerprint reader.

You could root it for Oreo, which is what I'm using now, but my question is if I just use launchers, which take minutes to set up and are more fun anyway, will Samsung Experience still slow down my phone?

Is it worth rooting my phone to get rid of the annoying T-mobile and Samsung advertisements every single time I boot up the phone?
Or is it not worth it because no Samsung Pay?

Iphone used to be the quintessential phone for people who just want to call and text and use basic apps, while android was for autists who wanted to mess with the OS and turn on their ceiling fan with the phone
now Iphone is the same but for a thousand dollars and android is the "cheap dependable" phone for normies and autists

first iphone? idk but the xz1c is small and gets pie this month and you can flash a sensor at the expense of volte and wifi calling

Hahahaha brainlets need muh walled OS just to use a phone

xperia xz1c

do u use samsung pay and is there no alternative that will work with magisk root

Don't need root for that, just use ADB to disable whatever app is showing ads

Apple just fails to innovate now, for whatever reason. They insist on "playing it safe" by copying innovation in other companies and that's all they ever do anymore.

No I don't use them so I guess you're right. I'm just a bit worried.
It's not an app, it's the first thing you see when your phone is starting up. Removing them won't start the phone faster, I get that, but I still think seeing "Samsung" flash across my screen is annoying.

What I'm asking to do would be the equivalent of removing the words "Windows" from showing when you boot up your computer.

I think it does innovate, but in the least desirable ways possible
shame on android brands for following suit but at least theres still options

Attached: iphone-7-with-Lightning-adapter_1024x1024.png (1000x596, 338K)

>Some people are warning against certain refurbs, though.
Some people are warning against a device which bootloops as well. Don't do it.
>What's the best downloadable keyboard
SwiftKey bar none.
Older devices like the S5 support it, but newer Samsung flagships have locked bootloaders and nothing can be done. Check XDA.

AGAIN:
Can anybody here recommend me a good Keyboard or Icon Android app, or not?
If you change the minimum display width on your phone to non-retarded levels, the keyboard and apps DON'T FUCKING WORK.

I already own xperia xc, wich is just a mm wider and .2 mm thicker. It's too big for comfortable use.

>locked bootlockers
There's plenty of ways to root an S7, which is the phone I have. It just breaks Knox and Samsung Pay permanently and I want to make sure that's the only side effect.

Ah, so like the boot animation? Kind of a weird thing to be annoyed by, how often are you restarting your phone? I see the boot screen on my phone maybe once a month, and I just place the display downwards while it's booting up (not because of ads, but because the display is on full brightness during the boot animation and it hurts my eyes).

are there any apps that change your wallpaper randomly out of a pool of images you choose every time you turn the screen on, or over a period of time?
how small are your hands? xz1c is just about 5 inches

>SwiftKey
Finally somebody answers. Thank you.

Just upgraded from my Moto Z to a Redmi Note 5
What am I in for?

Attached: 1516152718453.jpg (530x558, 84K)

>Kind of a weird thing to be annoyed with
It's still an ad and I'm becoming weirdly autistic about optimizing every minute detail of these things. The brightness is also a pain in the ass, even if it is like once a month like you said.

MultiPicture Live Wallpaper

Don't use "Single Picture" for any of the screens though, just use "Album" and make an album on your phone with just the one picture it it. The first one fucks up the app for some reason. It gets the job done though even if it is buggy.

>just use "Album" and make an album on your phone with just the one picture it it.
what do you mean? like make multiple albums with one picture each?

Get an iPhone SE then, there's no decent Android phone smaller than the XZ1C.

I just don't think it's worth rooting solely for that reason. It's not like you have to look at the screen while it boots.

> how small are your hands?
Kind of average, I guess. The problem is that with every device that has diameter bigger than some 4.5" (whole surface, including the bezels) one-handed use with a firm grip is impossible. Sure, you can shuffle the phone in your hand a bit, but that means losing the grip and wasting time reaching the upper side of the display.

Kind of. I mean that you can set each one of your home screens to pull from a different album of photos. When you select where each home screen's pictures should come from, you have the option to pick a single photo or an album (you will choose "album" because you already said you wanted the screen to change every so often). Then you set how often you want it to cycle through the pictures in that album.

Is it worth rooting to try and install Android 9.0 on an Android 8.0 phone? And delete all the T-mobile and Samsung apps I never actually use?
Or is it more valuable not rooted?
What are the disadvantages of rooting it, basically, is what I'm asking.

the xz1c is literally your best and only option
eh sounds kind of finnicky. I'll look into though, thank ya

Best part about this app is you can set it so that when you turn on your phone your home screen is one, normal thing, but then it completely changes to whatever you want, or as many photos as you want, when you double tap it. This allows you to put normie-friendly home screens as the cover the opens when you want, and then change it to porn or 2D loli whatever the fuck home screens with a double tap.

>using anything other than MIUI
absolutely below human

You dont need to root for those afaik, only need an unlocked bootloader and adb.

Oh. I didn't realize the difference between an unlocked bootloader and adb. Can you enlighten me, please? If not I'll take it the "Stupid Questions" generals.

>memeui

Heres a decent explanation on what an unlocked bootloader is, mind you unlocked bootloader =/= root. quora.com/What-is-the-meaning-of-an-unlocked-bootloader-in-mobile-phones
Unlocking the bootloader just gives you access to flash custom recoveries and ROMs through adb.

adb is the client that you use to send commands to your device when its connected to your pc. You can use commands in the adb shell to remove bloatware apps etc

You don't even need an unlocked bootloader to use ADB.

Thinking of getting a Note 9. Talk me out of it. The battery capacity has me sporting question marks over my head, considering it's more capable than that of the ill-fated Note 7.

USA/T-Mobile. Currently using an HTC 10 if that helps.

I use ADB for viewing my phone on my computer already. Great. I didn't realize I could take off the OEM bloatware shit with this though.
I'll look into this too, thanks.

Only thing I can think of is the possible S10 or better phones coming out next year. That's the only thing stopping me from buying one now.

I just got a poco and put lineageos on it.
How come it's not letting me save numbers onto the SIM card but it's a-ok exporting from them?
Any solution to this?

70mm wide

Please check out if note 9 has the same problem as s9/s9+ where the noyificarion and xaller sound is unexplicably quieter and muffled compared to playing a media file. I got an s9 just a week ago and I finally noticed this yesterday.

Go ask on XDA

Is it any good, bros?

Attached: Screenshot_2018-10-21-10-50-02.png (1080x1920, 448K)

sd636 and 5000mAh battery? wew

What up boys.

Mate 20 pro vs mate 20 x?

What's the deal? Which should I get? I want the best available camera, and a phone that will last a long time.

Previous phone: gayphone 4s
Current phone: blackview bv6000

HTC 10 seems to have the same thing going on in my experience and that never bugged me so it's not a dealbreaker.

pixel 3

Oh, ok. I'm still amazed about this fact because I can't imagine what does have to screw up to cause this. On a flagship at that.

Can't get a pixel 3 here. (You can, but it's about $1500 or more)

Thirdy country

Android basically.

Explain

whats with asus and massive battery

Extra juice for the background spyware.

Why is there still no decent modular smartphone? This all in one, no removable components shit is absolute cancer.

I am looking for a budget phone that will be used mainly for games (not really demanding as its just a gacha), can last a long time so a >4kmAh battery, fast charging and good modding community

Anything that comes to mind?

power efficient chip with a large battery. The phone is basically a redmi note 5 with a larger battery and NFC. although it costs like $50 more
