Both are shit. Use Arch

Most people do not have autism

According to Anonymous, who said that Linus Ibn Torvalds reported that Richard Ibn Stallman said (peace be upon him) that "Wallahi, Ubuntu has become trash for kuffars by moving away from our Sunni community, Mint is the only halal choice" Hadith 4:20 (Github Muslim)

This Hadith is graded (((open source))) and is therefore legitimate

No more KDE in Mint. Fuck those Palastinian loving mother-fuckers.

Is that an issue when Cinnamon is so ergonomic and light ?

debian

I killed many Palestinians before and I use Ubuntu.

I will kill Linux Mint users too.

Linux mint cinnamon is the best "just werks" distro, ubuntu has failed.

>calls most successful fork of successful debian a failure simply because it doesn't have a nigger name

cocked and bluetooth

It does have a lot of issues. Painfully slow, broken packages, bugs (the unthinkable), unity is universally panned, the amazon spyware debacle still feels bitter... What else am I missing?

>most successful fork of successful debian
It's like you wanna be a snowflake so you choose linux but then you don't wanna be so hardcore so you go for debian/ubuntu but then you wanna be a snowflake so you wanna use a fork of ubuntu but again you don't wanna be so hardcore so you take most popular fork... Image being borderline at computers...

fast for me even in late 2000s, every linux district has broken packages, unless you're suggesting somehow LM doesn't. I don't use gnome though. LM is just as slow if not more since it's ubuntu with a different name and... what else aside from playing mp3s by default back then?

If you want to use LM, I suggest not. their server got hacked so it's why I chose ubuntu. blog.linuxmint.com/?p=2994 It's up to you to decide your priorities.

5 inches
She/her

>their server got hacked

Their website got hacked, not the system itself.

Manjaro

I don't get the fuss about arch. The official repos are small af.

>their server got hacked

Both of them suck imo. Install an ubuntu flavor like lubuntu or xubuntu.

That is actually the average for about 90 percent of the male population. And 5 minutes is the average pizza time. Checkmate Pornstars

im getting around the ecosystem still.
I tried ubuntu first and I had quite a few things fucky, first it was mate and things where good at first but I tried doing updates and stuff and shit started breaking, even to the thru the terminal, then moved to regular ubuntu but then everytime I tried scrolling on firefox shit would buffer or something, I read something about compton or whataver the fuck, after hours spent reading on it, shit just got made worse. I couldnt deal with it. I've been using mint for a couple of months and its given no probs, dont know if I wanna update to 19 shits comfy and working fine the way it has so far

Come on friend, you can do better than that. Anybody can be rock hard for at least five minutes straight and thrust that pelvis like a smooth criminal. Remember that's all it takes to satisfy a woman after half an hour of cuddling, kissing and pussy licking. And the vagina is not even 5 inches deep, it's 10 cm. BBC is a meme and so is the channel

This

Mint Cinnamon is comfy and stable as fuck right out of the box, stripped down to the essentials. Having moved on to 19, I can testify that there's nothing wrong with the next version, and the Timeshift feature is neat. However it will not run on an old sturdy Thinkpad laptop from the 2010s, as I still use 17 on mine (E530 refurbished from 2013 for 400$, works like a charm).

I have used Linux Mint 17 Qiana for a few years now and I can confidently say that it's a piece of SHIT. Packages are outdated or straight up not available. Yeah, Cinnamon is great, but you can get it for Ubuntu and Debian as well. Mint has constant issues with software bugs too, most prominently in Firefox, Skype and Viber.

I should have made the switch to a REAL distro years ago but I'm too lazy to migrate my data, packages, and configurations.

Mint was good back in the day, but everything that made it special has been surpassed. Install Kubuntu.

We're at Linux Mint 19 now friend

is manjaro better than antergos?

underrated

in my experience distros based on other distros all introduce more issues than they fix from the distro they are based on, including mint (though the last mint version i used was 18.2. maybe it got better) so its usually better to just go with ubuntu.
the only thing mint really has going for it is cinnamon. can you get a cinnamon ubuntu flavour yet? if so mint has no real reason to exist. its just a showcase for cinnamon

no. see just use arch

Yes you can, and indeed the Ubuntu fork Mint is like one out of ten Ubuntu users at the moment.

Arch lacks noob friendly appeal, Manjaro fixes that with a simple install & streamlined use

deled dis

this
I forgot I did install Manjaro and it worked just as good as Mint did, but in the end went with Mint since its debian based and I think its better long term to be familiarized with apt

It's Ubuntu based, not Debian based, and I don't know what problems you can get with the fact that it's a Distro based on another Distro based on another Distro, because I have virtually none. The only fuckup I have is torrenting. It's painfully slow and I have no idea why, the same with any client (Deluge, QB, Transmission). Also I fucked up pretty bad by filling up my puny SSD to the brim, and was stuck at the login screen (loop). I had to start in Recovery Mode and clean up my HDD (automatic process) to launch XServer. That's the only issue I've had so far with Linux Mint 19, and let's be honest, it's more related with me being a stupid nigger.

based

Arch is an average distro which is in no way special to use.

>Light
Not last time I used it (mint 16 or something, cant remember).
Running Mint 19 Xfce on my dual core/4gb ram toaster right now and werks fine (but limited).
Should I give cinnamon another shot?

linuxmint.com/about.php
>Based on Debian and Ubuntu, it provides about 30,000 packages...

I honestly dont have problem with it being based off ubuntu or debian, I dont undestand how you got that assumption. And wish I could help you out mate but I've no idea either hahah, theres nothing wrong with being relatively noob with this, just keep reading all the documentations there is when youve got time. Or get a bigger ssd on sale soon to avoid that mistake :^)

don't do it, as neat as it looks, it's bloated and eats shit ton of RAM. just stick with XFCE

Kubuntu. Fast, simple, and attractive.

It's the distro geeks use to convince themselves they are smart.

It's difficult to set up, and on modern computers is only marginally faster than an out-of-the-box distro.

heyyy windows ! haha !!! how are you man !!! check out the latest linux kernel !!! do you rike it ???

Attached: linux kernel.jpg (1024x1002, 153K)

That is not true :(

Everything is fast, only that weird torrent bug that automatically puts it like on fucking (((windows real time))) priority and stuns everything else to slow motion.

I have a portable HDD for backups basically. I put everything in it, and it's practical because I just have to take it out and bring it to the TV to watch films on a couch with a big screen.

Ubuntu because it's a real distro, not a hacked together shitshow intended for brainlets and people with shitty netbooks that can no longer run windows. I dislike mint. You can't even apt-get install vim. You have to go through synaptic if you want the real vim instead of just vi

Guessed so, animations are usually a hog, even on simple tasks
hows MATE doing btw? They did a good job with Xfce but just curious, miss the confiness of Ubuntu 10.04

Fedora unironically

ubuntu is buggy but mint is buggier

>apt-get
seriously nigger?

bullshit, you just don't know the right name/version number. synaptic relies on apt you dumb shit. everything based on debian relies on apt

>apt-get
it's just apt now

For Xfce, Mint

apt-get and apt do the same thing, just like how yum is aliased to dnf in fedora.
>apt install vim*
>vim still opens up vi
>open synaptic
>install vim from the debian repos
>"vim" now opens vim instead of vi
miss me with that gay shit. apt does not work like it does in debian and ubuntu and it pisses me off.
I know, they do the same thing. I occasionally use apt-get because of old habits

I like Ubuntu better because it's more mainstream so it gets more support
Also I like the style of the GNOME GUI in spite of some of their dumb decisions

There is no reason for mint to exist. It's only ubuntu with more useless shit. Just get some *buntu

ok, thought for a sec and I'll be I know what it is. the way synaptic is set up it usually installs recommended depends, and addons automagically

Screw this, I'm leaving Mint for Ubuntu, but I keep (((cinnamon)))

XFCE may be ugly as shit but it runs mad good though (did you know the French police uses XFCE Debian?)

I fixed the torrent problem. It was just related to the configuration of the torrent client, nothing more (too many connections allowed by default). I've simply activated the firewall, opened a single port and it works perfectly now, extracting archives and encoding videos at the same time.

I have Ubuntu as well and like that desktop.... any tips for customization?
