Previous thread

from previous thread why not get the smaller pixel 3?

>best camera in a phone
>no notch
>slim design
>stock android

even shit phones can take okay photos nowadays

My N6P is literally dying at 50%, can't wait to get a new phone. I'm in awe that I lasted this long.

My question: S9 or OP6T?

s10

From previous thread:

Is there any way to get one of the Redmi Note 5s without the faulty panel that has image retention problems? If not, does the A2 lite have this same issue?

It's seems it can be fixed by changing some settings, but I am not convinced yet.

>s10
0% chance I am waiting until next year, my phone is fucked enough as it is

From Previous:

I need advice on a buy.

I need a phone which is at max 200€. I prefer it to be Xiaomi. I am precisely asking for the best Xiaomi out there, but any advice is welcome.

I am from Italy, I want it to have a decent battery (3k mAh maybe?). I need a decent camera.
I do not need the fastest processor. I need it to last for as much time as possible and to have a decent camera for normie use.

In my country you can buy phones without carriers too. And I think I'll buy it from Amazon too. pls send help.

Only answer I got in previous thread was about a Redmi Note 5

How's the Nokia 5 for a povertymode phone?

No

xperia xz1 compact for its front facing speakers, compressed audio options, longer updates and small size
or lg v30 for more internal memory, everything works out of the box and volte
I know v30 overall has better sound but that only really applies to high end headphones, whereas the xperia has more options for budget regular headphones

Why not?

Will the Honor 8X work on EE? These shitty frequency check websites give different answers and the 8X seems like the best sub-250 euro phone

>pic related

Attached: dd4.png (128x128, 16K)

Because you can do better than an ancient 28nm SD430 and a 720p display.

>modular phones

I remember when some dude actually thought they were gonna be a real thing.

For £120?

Depends where you get it from. The Euro version will work (4G bands: 1/3/5/7/20), the Chinese version (4G: 1/3/5/8) is missing some important frequencies for Europe.

See here, looking for a new phone:

What's the best Xaomeme for $200 or less?

I'd implore you to get a galaxy, maybe the note 9 or s9, only for the headphone jack. why pay 900 dollars for less features on your phone

Redmi Note 5

What about a Oneplus 6t?

>Android 9 permanently disables all call recording capabilities
Jesus fucking christ I'm so fucking sick of Google deciding how my phone will be used in every capacity. This is fucking bullshit.

Attached: 1523962690743.jpg (504x477, 46K)

no headphone jack and bands may not be supported on ATT
the v30 is a good phone you could look into but it might be a downgrade depending what your last phone was.

how long until Android XX is just an iphone

welcome to current year where corporations decide what you are and aren't allowed to do with your life
it's only a matter of time until android phones are just as locked down as iphones
and, while it will still take a while, the same thing will eventually happen to computers
so enjoy it while you can

Is there a Jabber/XMPP client for smart phones that support group calls?

Attached: 2000px-XMPP_logo.svg.png (2000x2057, 145K)

who should buy android from google, /spg/? samsung?

What's the status on Xposed framework for Android P?

im going to get a note 9 in about a week, Google's phones have too many deal breakers (no headphone jack, no expandable memory)

Not soon enough

That guy works so fucking slow

last xposed update was in january and the dev last posted in february, so I wouldn't be too hopeful

if you want to use xposed for a specific app use virtualxposed

Finally got magisk working on the pixel 3 xl

I don't understand why there's still a solid color nav bar on pie. Can't you overlay the pill like on the iPhone? What the fuck Google.

I'm gonna try to hide it and get my screen estate back

Attached: Screenshot_20181021-190442.png (1440x2960, 2.07M)

From previous: Is buying an XZ1 still good in 2018? A friend of mine offered to buy my S8 so I'm looking for a replacement. Again, I'm gonna use the phone for rhythm gacha shit, so I need a screen without any noticeable touch delays. I'm looking at the XZ2c as well, but that costs like $130 more. Also, how's XZ1 compared to XZ1c? They're the exact same price from where I live.

Skavalex recorder

$25

I want to dick around with android and custom roms, what’s a good phone for this?

LG V35
LG G7
Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S
Xiaomi Mi 8
Sony Xperia XZ3
HTC U12+

depends on your budget

Would the Essential Phone or the Mi Mix 3 be better if I'm coming from a Droid Turbo?

either honestly

Heavily considering the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2s. I'm in the USA. Seems like it has great features and full US band support. What's Jow Forums's thoughts on it?

Attached: 8ac52582-daf4-4cd1-b417-d04e54314911.jpg (950x534, 81K)

The irony of it is that there's probably already some google AI masturbating over recordings they took of your phone calls as is

good devices, just make sure to get it with plenty if storage since no mSD support
also no 3.5 jack, great device tho

S10 if you can wait, s9+ if you can't. OP is shit now.

usa tmobile
300-350$
need 3.5mm jack
used for texting/snap/calling, music, browsing, occasional streaming yt vids, netflix etc

pls thx

Buy someone's s8+ in swappa, you can get one for $300-330 and it's still a good phone.

>buying a used phone ever
huawei mate se if you have the bands

So are we in agreement in the Mate 20 X being the best phone of the year?

>massive 7.2 inch OLED
>First 7nm processor with excellent performance and efficiency
>Best and most versatile cameras while being cheaper than Mate 20 pro
>Massive 5k mah battery
>Headphone jack and ir blaster

Only con is no waterproofing and still expensive

samsung galaxy s5 if you can find any around, there's so many roms for it, I heard there might be development for android pie but I haven't checked myself

Got my UMIDIGI Z2 Pro and I bought a nice holster case for it. The case is for a Note 9 but they're about the same size. The phone itself has a case, but I took it off for the photo.

LG V30 in New Other/Return condition off eBay
Essential PH-1 off Amazon
Moto Z2 Force Brand New off eBay sold By Motorola

so my Xperia XA1 Ultra USB-C port is loose af and I can barely get it to charge.. I kinda regret buying the thing because of the shitty mediatek chip and shitty 23MP camera.. I have zero experience with taking apart modern phones and servicing them.. thinking I will take it in to the local device repair pajeet job because otherwise it's working fine and I don't really need a new phone.. are there any tricks to getting a loose / fucked up USB-C port to work? I tried air duster..

How's the battery? SOT and usage? Thinking of copping one for my brother

Can you imagine dropping that phone? It'd shatter into a thousand pieces

thoughts on Mi Max 3?

>Motorola Atrix
>LG G3
>Mi 5

My next will be either a Mi Mix 3, OP6T or S9+.

I would have waited for the 6T, but the headphone jack was pretty essential for me, and the 6 is on the same update cycle.

Based on today, I'd say it looks like I'd get about 10 hours of screen on time doing basic crap.

>being this autistic about used goods when you can get mint condition phones for a fraction of the price of new
spoken like a true privileged cuck. do you want some Starbucks giftcards for Christmas so you can get more chai lattes with a shot of onions too, cuckboi?

Attached: big_nigga_juice.png (1280x1094, 359K)

Are there phones out there similar to the galaxy s6? performance wise, I need something similar because I don't really use my phone for gaming or demanding apps. I just run out of space all the time since this doesn't have a microsd

enjoy your shit battery on your "mint" phone

>start uni
>textbook/assignment/grades available through app
>requires Android 5.0
Why the fuck do I need such a recent version of Android just to read text and select multiple choice boxes?

>>requires Android 5.0
>recent

I see Jellybean as the XP of Android and see no reason why such a basic app can't run on Jellybean and Kitkat.

phone for USA Tmobile
300ish +/-
I dont care about the camera
Would like good battery life and strong in general

Hows the Huawei nova 3? decent?

>?- (?-2016)
>J3 2016 (2016-2018)
>LG v20 (2018-?)

I just got the LG v20 too. Does /spg/ have any cases I should consider for this phone?

Op6T, better value, buttery smooth, better battery life.

I'm trying to use Odin to root and flash a rom, but I keep failing at the start. Everytime I try to start Odin it fails on Recovery. I've tried a couple differnt cables

Probably because the app needs something only available on android 5.0 and above. Even on fdroid, netguard, lawnchair, etc have the requirement.

Some super shitty gophone that didn't work brand new so was never used (2012ish)
Used Droid slider phone that worked 3 weeks (2013)
HTC One X, first decent smartphone phone that I kept a while, 2014ish
OG Moto G LTE 2015-2016ish
Some shitty ZTE phablet, 2016ish
Same Moto G again, 2017
Huawei Ascend XT for the past year

Maybe a Redmi Note 5 next if I don't keep stringing along this phone.

They're asking too much considering it's just a larger RN5, but a good option if you want a cheap yuge phone.

Attached: 1540172432941.png (813x251, 182K)

64gb variants of the Redmi Note 5 or A2 Lite are what I am considering for similar reasons. Be sure to look into the image retention issues that nobody here talks about.

cons
>emui
>locked bootloader

It's decent if you don't mind the cons.

Is the pocophone a meme or is it actually worth the shot?

don't support the removal of headphone jack

Is there any modern flip phone?
As long as it runs Spotify is good enough

>Pantech Burst (2012-2013)
>Pantech Vega (2013-2016)
>Samsung Galaxy S5 (2016-Present)
>Doogee X5 Max Pro (2016-2018)
>Xiaomi Redmi Note 4X (2017-2018)
>BLU Grand X LTE (2018-Present)
>Motorola Moto G6 (2018-Present)
>Xiaomi Redmi 6 (2018-Present)

I travel a lot, so I need different phones for different LTE bands. If only I could get this stupid fucking S5's LTE bands unlocked, I would never need another phone again.

>Galaxy s8 battery has gone to utter dogshit

I've tried everything to fix it. I wish I could upgrade but it hasn't even been 2 years.

Attached: 1535548585820.jpg (970x545, 64K)

If it's an Exynos you might as well try flashing Lineage, might be the software hogging your battery.

>holster case
>another case
>no-name brand

LOL how old are you

24

w h e w

God, please don't be vaporware Librem 5

>op image
Still so fucking sad that this died.

Help. What's the /spg/ approved case?

I just got brand new phone and I don't really want to root it, but I want adaway. Should I just do it or is there another solution to block ads? I'm afraid of rooting because knowing me I'll fuck it all up

S9. If you want a bigger display and can afford it go for S9+. You will have no regrets.

Do the batteries in the S9/S9+ go to shit faster than most phones? Most S9+ reviews seem to be good and the phone looks like it'll fit my needs yet barely anyone ever mentions battery deterioration.

is the lg v30 seriously 800 dollars

Are you Canadian or something? If not, you're not looking hard enough

I don't think so. May be for non rooted users. Your phone is not rooted and you are using Android?

buying it directly from ATT is 800
buying online runs the risk of buying a model with a different countries firmware or something and not having your band supported

Any phone that supports at least 2 and 4 will work on AT&T.

If you live in a mid-high tier population city, you should be all right with getting one off Craigslist or other local exchanges

Got an S8 plus all the VR stuff for 370 a couple weeks ago

Should I go with the nokia 6.1 Plus now or wait for the 5.1 plus?

would yall consider the full size xz1 to be a one handed phone
