When she boots up though*

only 1 CPU sadly a pentium 3 at 1.133ghz

Attached: Screenshot_20181021-191940_Gallery.jpg (1078x826, 648K)

2 sticks of ram

Back when the ram was inserted incorrectly

Nice find, user. Planning any upgrades or even using it for something?

Attached: 1540215997888.jpg (546x364, 176K)

Yeah ima get some more ram. A 4 gig hard drive for DOS another pentium is the S3 Savage 4 Pro PCI: Diamond Stealth III S540 good enough for DOS gamin? And if possible i want to send it to LGR see if he wanted to show it off on his channel since its so neat. I want it to be at the level it could be for its era

Shit was correcting and hit send.
Anyway yea i wanna see if LGR would review it is pretty cool.

And I have a pentium 4 layin round im tempted to put it in.

Sorry if i come incoherent im just super exicted about this thing i never find anything cool. Also I WANT MORE FANS it already sounds like a god damn tornado

Upgrade to 2 CPUs
Only a Pentium 3 fits in that socket
Also this machine would be a waste for DOS but would probably work

What would you recommend user im really not sure what to do since i can out 8 hard drives in the hard drive bay there is lots of potential for it. (No clue how many cables on the PSU tho)
Also awww but thats fine

Oh, it's seriously overkill for DOS games. Even Pentium MMX were. With good sound/video cards it would take anything from the 98-00 vintage well, too.
That said, it'd be a bit of a waste to just game on something like that, but power to you, it's not like a RPi wouldn't make a better home server anyhow.

I dont really have anything else to do with it desu.

Well, with all those drive bays you could have a NAS going on. Basically cloud storage, but yours, should look it up.

What CPU is currently installed?

A raspberry would be faster
No idea if it even runs Windows 9x, this machine was meant for linux and windows NT

Hmmmm not a bad idea desu.
Pentium 3 1.133ghz
Hmmm see sorta why DOS is my best option since DOS works on everything.

Is this the GPU? Looks sorta like a laptop one just bigger

Oh forgot to post the PSU's

>Pentium 3 1.133ghz
Go on ebay, find another one (make sure the S-spec number is identical) and a heatsink for it, then install it for some 2P action.

Likely the Northbridge considering its location and the fact its heatsinked.

Ah there is a second one aswell here size pic of one of the PSU

But yeah outside of gaymin i really have no purpose even for storage and i will never sell it its to sexy plus i promised her il restore her to full power
Also check out the dust on the hard drive fan nasty. Will vacuum when i get back home

well, if you're gonna go for getting the beast up to full strength, you're gonna need better CPUs and more ram.
Fortunately the board does support the absolute top of the line Pentium 3 Tualatins, so you can get a pair of the 1.4ghz 512KB P3s (at $25 buck a pop though you'd be much better off just grabbing another of the existing CPU).
Board also caps out at 4GB of ram, but you need ECC registered SDRAM for it. 1GB ECC Registered 100mhz DIMMs are about $9-10 apiece, so a set of 4 would be about $36-$40.

If you want to make this thing a beast be prepared to spend a bit on it.

Wow thats cheap thought it was going to cost alot more

Old business gear is typically very cheap since it's clunky and nobody really needs it.

Thanks for all the help anoon erm where did you get those numbers im lookin ebay currently im not really good with old tech like this im out of my waters.

Me and him are different guys, but for the ram, here:

ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2334524.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.A0.H0.X1GB ECC Registered SDRAM.TRS2&_nkw=1GB ECC Registered SDRAM&_sacat=0&LH_TitleDesc=0&_osacat=0&_odkw=1GB ECC Registered SDRAM 133mhz&LH_TitleDesc=0

and for a suitable set of ram:

ebay.com/itm/1GB-PC100-Memory-ECC-SDRAM-168-pin-Registered-DIMM-MT36LSDF12872G-10EC1/183288847602?hash=item2aacdddcf2:g:JMcAAOSwXSRbLpQv:sc:USPSFirstClass!23606!US!-1:rk:6:pf:0

if you specifically want 133mhz memory, add it to the main search string ( 1GB ECC Registered SDRAM 133mhz ).

I need to take a shit, once I'm done I'll help you find CPUs for it.

Okey thanks

Right, im back, I need you to pop the heatsink off the CPU and post a pic of its identifying information. Make sure its a clean and clearly legible pic.

Not curremtly home and I tried before it was fucking stuck i can post the latch but i couldnt get the fucker off

Other side

gonna need a screwdriver and a steady hand I think. Make sure whatever one you use will fit into the hole on top for the first or the slot on the side for the second.

To remove:
1: Insert the screwdriver into the hole, and make sure its firmly in there. If it pops out it can ruin the board.
2: Press down on the screwdriver hard, while at the same time pushing the top of the screwdriver towards the heatsink. This will pull the locking portion away at the bottom.
3: If you got it off, releasing the pressure (gently) will show a loose lock bar
4: twist the heatsink left and right until it releases to expose the CPU. Considering the age of the system whatever TIM it has will be like glue, so be careful.

Spoopy okey user will do when i get home

Il post my results ay 4-5pm est

Yah. the locking mechanism for Socket 370/462 is a grade-A pain in the ass to get on and off, and had a well-earned reputation for destroying CPU dies on the older CPUs. Since the CPU in that one is likely Tualatin, it will have the heat spreader and thus you wont have to worry about breaking the die. Downside is, as, like i said, after a while the TIM used hardens to the point where it pretty much fuses the heatsink to the IHS, making it even more of a bitch to get off.

Fug. Ima lil nervous wont lie. If i break it il probably just shoot myself

If you break the board, yeah its understandable. But with the CPUs, considering how cheap they are on ebay, its not a big loss.

True i just want the best for this thing i have a wrird attschment to it. I havent built a PC in years for the last 5 years i have used a laptop

God damn it my hands a slimy from the mayo its making my phone freak out.
Weird and attachement

Fuck nvm itl ne 7-8pm est
