OK, I'll play.

How's that 2080?. I'm considering getting one. Have you used a 1080 before to compare it to?. I'd be going to it from a 1050 ti.

I had a 1080ti before it. It was a sideways upgrade but I wanted to give my 1080ti to a family member, and he gave his GTX970 to another family member, so buying the 2080 made three upgrades.
It is indistinguishable from the 1080ti, but it runs much cooler. I have a Founders Edition BTW.

I wanted to buy a 2080 Ti but it is totally out of stock in my country, so I will buy a 2080. Is the ASUS ROG Strix a good version? Seems to run pretty cool according to youtube reviews.

I don't know. I wanted to try a founders edition this time. I had an EVGA SC2 1080ti, and had a lot of trouble with it. They replaced it under warranty right before I have it away. It would get stupid hot on un-optimized games like Ark.
I would see close to 80C playing ARK, on the 2080FE I see a slight improvement in frames and it runs around 65C

I'll upgrade to poozen and buy a decent video card if and when Cyberpunk 2077 will be released and will be worth it.

Why the hell whould you buy ryzen when you have that cpu? Like what do you need more cores for? The ipc is lower on ryzen.

And are running only one ram stick, or have you seated the wrong ram slots? Single channel..

Nice display tho, 29" ips?
My dell 29" ips runs fine on 80hz, but I'm not sure you can overclock with amd cards. With nvidia you do it in the display settings in the driver control panel.

I am bottlenecking the fuck out of that CPU coding x265 video.

I have a single stick because I'm not willing to pay extortion money for the second one. When memory prices drop to non-crazy levels I'll buy the second stick, like I originally intended.

The screen is 34".

just ordered an X5680

That makes sense then, just making sure you weren't one of the retards on here, mindlessly wasting their money on the latest chipset with the only new feature being more rgb patterns.

I pretty much only use my pc for games, browsing and watching videos and such, so no need to upgrade in years probably.

What kind of videos do you make, since you need to do coding?

I'm getting a 34" myself when I can find a good deal on one, but with 3440x1440 IPS.
I tried gaming on a friends 27" 1920x1080, gave me a massive headache. I think my eyes need more dense pixels or something.

You the one with the flashed P6T SE? Going for 5ghz 1.gen? :P
Much did you pay for the x5680? Last I checked they were pretty expensive.

Waiting for cheap Broadwell-Es to finally arrive when people with workstations finally upgrade. Other than that I'm /comfy/.

I used to have a W3670, that I pulled from a server from the dump, stable at 4.9, but didnt want to go higher on my Asus Rampage II board, after getting this x5650 I threw on my decent watercooler and got it to 5ghz stable, albeit still pretty toasty(in the low 80's), on air its at 4.1 to keep in the low 80s still, but this gen xeon overclocks are entirely chip to chip, my friend also got an x5650 with an intel board and his didnt want to be stable over 4.75ghz when I had an old i7-920 stable at 4.6

>with the only new feature being more rgb patterns
Ugh, don't even mention it. The only ITX board that has the specs I want for my ryzen build (features I already have, like 6x USB minimum, bluetooth, S/PDIF, M.2 2280, etc.) is an ASUS ROG STRIX bullshit that has more RGB LEDs than fucking I/O pins.

I have a lot of footage of my hobbies (bonsai, aquascaping), but the bulk of my video library consists of TV series. I distrust torrents and streaming sites, so I have most of my favorite TV series stored, but it's a ton of space, so I started reencoding all my current videos to x265. I started about two months ago and still have 3-4 TB left. Even with an average coding speed of 175-ish FPS that's a lot of time.

The 3440x1440 IPS sounds fun, I deliberately didn't go for it, because I don't mind the lower pixel density (seriously, I have a 2560x1440 IPS screen in my 5.5" phone and I do not perceive my monitor as being worse), and I don't have to buy an expensive GPU to play.

CPU is E5-2679v4, 20c/40t @ 3.2GHz

Just repasted my cpu. Been having some over temp issues but it is an ITX build so it's not a surprise

I want more storage then I'll wait it out for a bit then eventually upgrade. I want a better gpu but I'm fine for now. I'm also to lazy to take a new screen shot.
