Who here holding out for this?

The Galaxy X is going to be the most exciting thing to happen to the smartphone market since the launch of the original iPhone.

Attached: Soon.jpg (750x400, 34K)

is it gonna cost like 1500 dollars?

Without stating the processor power, claimed battery life, or the screen resolution / camera capability, give me one reason to be excited.

that's just a tiny lawn chair.

It can turn into a lounge chair for your action figures you still keep around your desk.

yes
because it's a fucking folding screen

Bent phones fell out of fashion after iPhone 6

No, that's just the cost to replace the screen

it's the microsoft courier's son but without a hinge, just a bendy amoled we've been teased with since CES 2012/13

what function would a folding screen bring that a traditional one can't? it's literally a gimmick if it does nothing useful

>Samsung
into the trash it goes

Function of being able to fold

you can have an 8 inch display in your pocket that is as big as an iphone 4

It literally gets rid of the biggest problem of having a big ass screen, you can fit it in your pants like a 4.5 inch phone.

fucking kek

This phone is a meme and will break within one week of use guaranteed.

This seems much more important for a tablet than a phone. Imagine putting a 5.5 inch device in your pocket and folding it out to 11 inches!

how will iCucks ever recover?

What, exactly, is the function of a bendable phone? In what situation would this be advantageous or in any way helpful compared to a regular phone?

it's a tryhard attempt to put tablets out of use by making the phones as big as a tablet but as compact as old school flip-phones
you get best of both worlds

U can fold it 10000 times and have a Galaxy katana to slash iCucks and notchfags in thousand pieces :^)

What the fuck

Imaging inserting a 5.5 device in your butthole then unfolding it to 11.9 inches still inside

Attached: IMG_20181021_154124.jpg (3120x4160, 3.27M)

Clamshell phones were more durable. You're keeping the glass inside and the case outside in any drop.

if the Galaxy X looks like a 35 deg obtuse angle how do you not break that shit? I have yet to see one dumb bitch that owns a smart phone that isnt in their pocket sitting on it.

>Android
Haha, no.
Pajeets poo out that shit and then the gooks piss dog meat all over it.

Samshit software is unusable.

Topkek

Meh

But this thread reminded me of a phone whose screen would dynamically change to help for typing. That one sounds more interesting.

>t. galaxy SIII owner

how the fuck are phone cases gonna work with that thing

>a bent phone
So is this going to be like acid-washed jeans? My shit is fucked up before I even buy it?

>it has a folding screen
...While I understand that the underlying technology for this must be amazing, for the life of me I have no idea why doing this to a phone, right in the fucking middle would be a good idea.

A square, pad-like design that folds in the middle would be a lot more practical. What's the idea, here? To make it compete with my wallet for pocket girth? Now do I not only have to remove it from my wallet, but I have to unfold it to take photos?

Attached: daffy.jpg (640x598, 70K)

>now you have an object as thick as a quad fold wallet in your front pocket
>except it's completely rigid

and let me guess, there's going to be a permanent crease right in the middle of the screen? I get to look at that while I'm watching porn? Is the battery capacity going to be cut in half due to the battery only being able to take up one side of the fold? Would there be two batteries? Could it fold backwards? If it could, what would be the fucking point?

What's the point in the first place?

As the creator of Minecraft, I find this offensive :)

I used to put a note 8 in my pocket, and used it like a phone.
Now they don't care about the hulk anymore. People don't even pay attention when hulk smashes.
It isn't easy being green, and it just gets, so damn lonely.
I tried live streaming my an hero, but laying myself just made me angrier... lonelier.
Fuck my green life Bros.

this, and there's also the screen material to take into account, it can't be regular glass or plastic but it also has to be a material that at least doesn't get permanently scratched if you sneeze on it

Better NDS emulator?

Windows phone master race reporting. I'll be sticking with my Lumia 1020. I have no use for this pile of technological shit with a garbage OS designed for children, trashy apps and a cheese ball camera. Thanks anyway.

>Better NDS emulator?
You know what makes a great DS emulator? A tablet. Literally any.

lie

Apple already had invented foldable screens with iPhone 6.
Fucking poodroids btfo.

Im pretty excited. It's samshit but finally something new that's not just an improved bat/screen/cam/ shit that I really only notice if it wasn't there.

Gonna wait for the next gen tho. Let them fix whatever is going to be wrong with this one

Is the end goal to make a flip phone, but as a smartphone or is it only going to bend even as decided to use even go want to do look more like?

but tablet is flat.

Won't be excited until it is flexible enough to wear around my wrist or rolled up like a scroll.

the new galaxy phones will have air sensing and be able to detect particulates.

Don't ask how I know this

This guy is asking the real questions.

Why would someone buy this hardware just to get fucking slowed over the course of 1.5 years?

Apple did this years ago

It's going to look like this abomination from the patents.
No thanks

>imagine the major fuckup of pixels at the folding point after some use

>*snaps*

Something for easily impressed baby boomers that think it's "futuristic". Self projecting here because my dad thinks it's going to be huge(coming from a guy who was telling me about VR being a yet released technology despite Vive being out for a year). It's technology that's been there for years but no company is retarded enough to put out a product because you know it's a retarded gimmick that's not going to sell. People want more ease of use with phones like face recognition immediately unlocking it so having to unfold your phone will be too much of a hassle.

I was expecting it to fold the other way.
So the screen would be on the exterior in the folded position, making is usable, and eliminating a sharp fold for a much more gentle curve.

maybe that render is utter bullshit though....

>Who would like a small device with a big screen that is protrected by default without a fugly case?

Yeah, I wonder.

>galaxy katana
>exploding and unleashing on itoddlers with the force of 1000 suns
Worth every kidney

back in 2012 they showed a prototype that lost 6% of colour in the middle hinge bit after 100,000 folds, and it's safe to say it's been improved a shit ton since then. Samsung aren't some noname chink company; this thing will cost a ton but I highly doubt the battery/hardware will be bad. My main concern is what the screen will be made of.
There's a clear reason for having this technology so I don't see how it's a gimmick.

What's even the point

>My main concern is what the screen will be made of.

At least it won't be glass which is the shittiest material for screens.

>moving parts

They should make it fold the other way from a 3:8 bar into a 3:4 screen.

nah, $2000

if you accidentally drop it, it will return to your hand

>ITS A FUCKING FOLDING SCREEN HOLY SHIT HOW AMAZING I CANT BELIEVE IT GUYS ITS AN UTTERLY USELESS FEATURE BUT IM STILL SO FUCKING EXCITED

cost is irrelevant. new technology will always trickle down to the cheaper markets eventually, so even if this doesn't sell well, as long as the concept holds up, and doesn't feel gimmicky, we could all have folding phones by 2023 if the 2020 release is true.

IMAGINE having such shit eyes that you NEED to have a 8 inch screen to be able to see it.

>Consulting the scroll

I need an 8 inch screen to type with my big manly hands.

It's not like it hasn't been done before.

t. manlet

>Folding screens/phones/...
It's been what? 10 years they say that's it

Underrated

You don't have a monitor or a TV I assume?

If you can fold the thing then it's going to be difficult to break the screen hopefully.

It looks as if they're just trying to make the usable surface area of the screen bigger though.

>bigger screen than 4.7"

nah im good

>not book shaped
Pass.

Now phones can be wallets too.

phones getting smaller again
