Why aren't you using Ubuntu 18.10?
Why aren't you using Ubuntu 18.10?
Debian
I don't like Amazon.
Mint
Because I'm using 18.04 LTS
Already installed gentoo
high test
I'm waiting update notification
Becuz i use Devuan
I switched from it years ago because despite being linux it's the worst platform for a dev, even shittier than windows. The official packages are ancient and everything else that should be ok they still managed to fuck it up. What's the point of using Ubuntu if you still have to manage it like Arch?
Does it guarantee compatibility for a Thinkpad T470?
Because GuixSD exists.
I'm.
LTS or bust. Now how to I upgrade to libopus 1.3?
I moved back to windows
ditto. the purple theme is very relaxing.
>run installer
>can't get bast the "Who are you?" screen because it won't let me type
>18.04 installs with no problems
cool os
Any objective reason to update? what are the new features?
>manage it like Arch?
>he has to manage Arch
>once a month
yay
Gnome 3 ruined Ubuntu, which was already half-ruined ever since it moved from Gnome 2 to Unity. I can't really think of a case where I'd need Ubuntu's features either
Is Ubuntu part of the botnet? I don't have that much experience with Linux, only played around with a few distributions for some time but now I will probably switch over. What should I pick? I don't play a lot of games, but I would like to be able to do it once in a while so can I do that with GNU/Linux or should I pick something else?
I use Debian.
Btw, do any of you have the "Debian is for Lesbians" image?
because opensuse just werks
>LTS
This.
Build it and the standalone encoder yourself. If you need it in FFMpeg, either rebulid it or just get a static binary with the updated libopus.
>Is Ubuntu part of the botnet?
There is no one botnet. The correct form of your question is
>Is Ubuntu botnet?
Is Ubuntu botnet?
I wanted to, but I have a lot of issues with Nvidia drivers on it. I'll stick with Manjaro.
No. You won't even have the Amazon link installed at any point if you install a version with a non-default desktop like MATE (which I recommend).
or use the minimal install option in the main one
Yes, but it's hard to recommend if user is new to GNU+Linux.
Alright, I'll try Ubuntu MATE.
Oh I dont mean the net install
You can tick a box and not install the bloat on the normal installation now
I dropped Ubuntu when they dropped GNOME 2; I see no reason to go back.
unironically this
after seeing how broken the 17 10 was
Deepin
all it changes is DE and im happy on my heavily customized ubuntu (18.04 lts)
You're like the person who gets back together with their abusive ex.
Use Debian.
This?
Because win10 just werks
I doesn't even, If you are gonna troll at least say Win 7
so for someone who start on linux, debian/mint/ubuntu is the way to go ?
Because 16.04 is superior, also stopped useless Kernel updates
Pretty much
Can't set a custom color for the desktop.
this
because Arch is better
Am I supposed to see something other than this in their logo?
You are Downie level retarded if you can't get window 10 working
/thread
Why should I change from fedora systemd?
I think it's supposed to be a gnu head.
Because for some fucking reason it can't handle 2x 1080p displays + 1x 1440p
It doesn't remember which one I've set as primary and so on
Gnome and having to deal with the bullshit that is setting up a dualshock 3 the way I want it
>win 7 and kubuntu lts master race
feels great
because I'm using something that works
16.04 is still good
...
I want to cuddle that cuttlefish.
I am using 16.04
>cosmic cuttlefish
So random xDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDID
Raises spork
*Facepalms*
You need to get laid
because 16.04 isthe best uboongo.
I kinda doubt it's because of that lol
cos i only run LTSs
Haven't had a chance to upgrade from 18.04 yet.
big this
Voluntary beta testing for the next LTS.
I haven't used ubuntu since 8.04
>it just werks
>but you have to get it to work
lol
i'm using lubuntu 18.10. they finally switched to lxqt!
are you french?
same
i tried to use 18.10 but 3 different flavors all hang at the installer
GPT MRB BIOS UEFI nothing makes a difference
I like kde and latest software. Ubuntu doesn't provide that for me and even tries to push slow ass snaps system apps on me. Fuck them.
The *10s are the shitty versions.
After a while you figure that out.
No, were I french then noire to me just will sound like black, negro, and it wouldn't sound that much of a cool username I guess
yeah i hate niggers too
Install Gentoo.
If you aren't a brainlet you realize this when .04 is LTS
Ie .10 are beta builds
Install freedom.
Well, I am using Kubuntu since I don't really care for Gnome. Does that count?
I tried for 6 hours to have it display out my AMD and Nvidia cards at the same time. Fuck you Linux mint
I can't scale per desktop per Monitor with Ubuntu. IN TO THE TRASH IT GOES.
I have a 1440p and 1080p monitors plus a 4K TV. Windows let's me scale per Monitor. So does KDE. Gnome is garbage. I tried looking for a fix/mod and all I can find is confused retards who think you can except you actually can't. I get why, the garbage GUI makes it seem like you can. You can't.
Exactly this
been using it, slow to launch, slow to load, wtf did they do between 18.04 and now?
not gentoo
16.04 > 18 crap
/thread
After getting used to ubuntu, I just made the switch to Debian testing. So far so good, some headscratchers here and there but I got around it. Mind you, I'm a casual user
systemd always gave me problems, so now I use Devuan
This. I've barely got my shit working on that, and they'll have to port OpenSSL 1.1.1 with TLS 1.3 back to 18.04.1 because (as I warned them at the time) 1.1.0 was NOT LTS.
17.10 was the first proper version, what are you talking about, gnomelet LMFAO
If you have up to date packages and don't have to hunt and peck for them to do development and set up your environment to just work, then it's honestly more work than managing Arch, so yeah you are true there. But my point is still valid, Ubuntu offers nothing to developers other than painful micromanagement so it's better to do Arch.
But you are still a massive faggot.
I'm using Manjaro
systemd
i like stability
GalliumOS is based off 16.04, so I cannot.
