but I can tell you with absolute certainty that kdenlive isn't exactly a shining example of something that doesn't randomly crash all the time

openshot is a much better choice imho. it's features are pretty limited compared to kdenlive but the feature-set that works and can be used without crashing is so small in kdenlive it's fair to say openshot is more feature-rich

don't know why, Intel's mismanagement has priced them out of the market and everyone's buying AMD because it's obviously the better value after Intel's 50+% price-hike. As an example, Threadripper 1920X+motherboard will cost you almost exactly the same as the i9-9900K+motherboard. Comparing it against the 2700X is kind of pointless since the 2700X shares price-point with Intel's i5's. And Intel's prices aren't coming down until late Q1 2019.
