HTC still makes phones?

It's their death throe

Would I be doing myself a disfavour if I bought an Xperia X Compact instead of the XZ1 compact if I don't play games and only text, browse and lurk Jow Forums?

hivemind

Yes, considering the X is already EOL.

Is the Huawei Mate 10 Pro the best choice for these requirements: Battery, camera, around 450€.

Is it true Redmi Note 5 has radiation levels off the chart??
I read some disturbing news about it

unless you want a sailfish license

It's good, but keep in mind the Kirin 970 is comparable to a 2017 SoC and EMUI is one of the worst android shittyfest.

>radiation levels
look up Generation Zapped documentary on pirate bay, interesting as fuck

sir not true
redmi note 5 pro excellent device

Not true, the SAR values are easily found online and below safety limits.

The metal Xiaomi uses comes from surplus plutonium casings, I have a Redmi note 3 and it has managed to dissolve my coat pocket and I think I have cancer in both of my hands, though I'm enjoying that.

Don't listen to I have the Mate 10, AMA.
>Battery
Last about a day, I just charge it in the morning before I go out, and I use it heavily for reading PDFs.
>Camera
It's great, realistic colors and the AI knows what's you're shooting.

Used MI Mix 2 6/64gb ($265), used Essential Phone 4/64gb ($265), or new RN5 for 220ish? I have Cricket in the US. I want something reliable most of all. Will be using mostly for basic shit like GPS, Bluetooth, calls, etc. My current phone also only have bands 2 and 4 like the RN5, but I want reception in rural areas and such so thought an Essential or Mix 2 would help with that.

I would go with the essential personally because it has more storage, works on all bands, and no bootloader unlock period to wait, also it's pretty much stock Android, and way more developer friendly with working GCam ports
also,
>$220 for used RN5
they sell new for around $200 who is selling used for more than new?

That would be OnePlus 6

Sorry it's $210 for a new 4/64gb US band model.

Thanks for the advice. I would indeed rather just have working clean Android out of the box. Does the Essential have any known problems?

with Xiaomi you lose

>literally the last smartphone you'll ever use
Chinese engineering at it's best

>Redmi Note 5 has less radiation than iPhone 7 or 8
Good to know

>all that chinkshit
Fuck

Why is this not widespread? Bastards

It's camera is supposed to be bad and no headphone jack

Any recommended apps that add more functionality to a smartphone?

>Max control
Turn your smartphone into wireless mouse/keyboard for your PC
>Simple draw
Paint.NET for android
Is there something that cast the phone screen to a PC?

Pricing for the Huawei 20 Mate Pro and Samsung Note 9 seems the same in my country. Note 9 is the better deal, right?

No

Need a phone guys

-Cheap
-Ok camera
-Can put xposed on it

>tfw the tentacles you grew from the radiation tickling the prostate game ridiculous

Redmi Note 5

720 unlock timer is gay as fuck, but i heard virtualxposed works on some apps

Mi A2 Lite then, if you rather not wait. The Xiaomi Android One phones don't have the 720hr wait time, so you can unlock it immediately.

>Chinese brands risking consumers' health

In other news, air is invisible.

>air is invisible
not in china tho

Cancer Note 5

But Oneplus 6 has worse battery and camera for the same price.
It's for the gf so specs don't really matter that much. Is EMUI worse than MIUI?
How's EMUI on day to day usage and does it get updates?

Honestly, I'm hopping or a good price drop on black friday/cyber monday. Otherwise it's either a samshit A7/J7 or xiaomeme redmi note 5/mi max 2, since again, battery life is the number one priority.

>How's EMUI on day to day usage
Honestly I don't know why people say it's bad.
So far I had no issues, the "bloatware" is not much and useful sometimes.
>does it get updates
It get security updates, but it's still on android 8.0
UI is intuitive, and it have something called navigation dock, rendering the navigation keys obsolete and more screen area.

X Compact is fine, faster than most SD820 phones

>SD 650
>faster than SD 820
wrong

>720p
>Optimized
>Stock Android

Who here pixel 3? Really loving mine. Amazing photos too.

Reposting from ,

when will the Redmi Note 6 replace the Redmi Note 5 as the goto default answer when someone asks for a good cheap phone?

What would be the ameritard equivalent of the pocophone? As in what has the best performance for the lowest price, T mobile

Attached: 1539474901305.png (800x600, 936K)

Just got a Moto g5 to replace my Nokia 6, highly recommend.

I DO NOT recommend the Nokia 6, though. For no discernable reason whatsoever, the power/volume buttons and the screen decided to cease functioning out of fucking nowhere. Nokia build quality my ass, never buying one from them again.

Just get a pocophone, you dont need LTE bands when youre on wifi goy

I unironically don't have wifi

Finland
300-400e

For comparison Nokia 8 is 319. I dare anyone do better

Attached: 1540306590904.jpg (744x1052, 124K)

Get an iPhone 8

When it costs the same as the Note 5. Currently you're paying a premium just to have a notch and a dual selfie camera gimmick.

Pocophone

BLU Vivo XI+

Essential phone

Non-ironically Pocophone.

Doesn't this have absolutely terrible reception on t mobile?

>Phone broke
>Could get it repaired I guess
>Dont feel like leaving it at a repair store because its filled with nudes

What do

Worse than Nokia 8 and more expensive

interesting

Would the mi mix 2 be good? I have no idea if it works in burgerland

Just get it repaired.

>worse
Get the 7 plus if nokia tickles your fetish or wait fro x7 to release in the west, don't waste your money on 8

repair it yourself

this phone actually seems perfect and I might get it this week. Someone else convince me why its a terrible buy

its not

>Worse than Nokia 8
Wrong. Pocophone is one year newer so it'll get updates for longer, SoC is faster (SD845 vs 835), battery life is better, cameras are better, 2GB more RAM, better custom ROM support if that's your thing.

>more expensive
309.99€ on amazon.de, meaning no import tax and warranty is valid in Finland.

just find a sd820 with 720p and stock android
also, i'm positive you can run the 1080p at 720

Literally the best performance per dollar in obesity land

The SD650 SoC is ancient though, it's still 28nm. XZ1 Compact has the newer and more efficient SD835. Just compare the difference in battery life:
gsmarena.com/sony_xperia_xz1_compact-review-1660p3.php
gsmarena.com/sony_xperia_x_compact-review-1495p3.php

Hmmm, I'll add it to my list thanks.

>wanted a new phone (been using ip5)
>saw mia1 review on youtube
>ahh okay I'll get it then
>mia2 is going to be released in the end of month? ok cool I'll wait a couple more weeks then
>mia2 is available
>I'll get this one instead
>wait honor 8x is going to be released in another month or so.
>waited another month
>honor 8x is available
>now I can get a now phone
>honor magic 2 is going to be released in a month

fuck this shit

Does xiaomi give a shit about black friday? What are the chances of finding a better phone than the redmi note 5 that week?

Why should I buy the mi mix 2 over the redmi note 5?

Get the mi a2 lite or pocophone

If you're in the US, then Mi Mix 2 is fully compatible with the carriers, Redmi Note 5 is only partial supported and only on AT&T and T-Mobile.

yes
this

Well shit. Are there any other US compatible phones with 835/6gb ram in this price range that I should look out for or is this the only one

Italy - carrier to be decided (Probably TIM or Poste)

I need a recent smartphone with an updated version of Android/Android-based OS for around 150€ (more or less, I can throw a few € more). Nothing special about it but at least:
- screen not to big (less than 5.7'')
- fullHD
- decent camera (12/13 MP)
- not to cheap to the touch
What should I look for Jow Forums?

it's the only one in that price range that has that amount of RAM and the 835

probably a Redmi 6S

>Redmi 6S
>upcoming
Thanks for the hint, but I forgot to say that I need to buy it ASAP.

Throw in a couple more Euros and get a Mi A2 Lite.

huh, I would say Redmi Note 5, but you're being autistic over .3 inches

What's going in this pic?

MI a2 lite

He's using an USB OTG cable and an USB hub to connect a keyboard and a mouse to his smartphone to play Fortnite.

jealous too?

gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=9237&idPhone2=9247&idPhone3=8893#diff-*,a2-lite,*

I was doing a comparison with the Redmi 6. Are the additional 80€ for the MI A2 Lite justified aside the resolution and the fact that it has a stock Android instead of MIUI? Is the build quality much better?

build quality is the same but miui is a piece of shit so yes it's justified if you don't want to play with custom roms

it's less durable than a comparably priced motorola. It's ready to break the first time you drop it.

it's difficult to know if the one you had shipped over is an imitation or not.

The camera quality is pretty poor (check it out on phonearena

Attached: Screen Shot 2018-10-23 at 1.07.57 PM.png (605x577, 493K)

Can't get something with good specs with that screen size.
The best you can buy is the Redmi s2 or 5 plus or preferably the redmi note 5 if you have the money.

Do not buy the redmi 6/6a they have a mtk chipset, means bad for development. The redmi note 6 is the note 5 with a notch.

The processor is much better

>80€ difference
Where are you looking? I'm seeing 118€ for the Redmi 6 and 167€ for the 4/64 Mi A2 Lite on Amazon.it:
amazon.it/Xiaomi-Lite-Smartphone-Versione-Globale/dp/B07FP3T6Z4/

With that price difference is absolutely go with the Mi A2 Lite.

is it still worth getting an iphone se? can't stand huge chink phones

>The camera quality is pretty poor
That's the stock camera. The only camera software you should be using is GCam.

I mean doesn't you need an app to do that?
Something like play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.chaozhuo.gameassistant&hl=en

Why are sms photos blurry no matter what app?

My focus is on performance and it looks like Motorola's similararly specced phones are over $100 more, I will take into consideration the durability though

Yes, the Apple A9 SoC still performs fine, the camera is decent (same as 6S), and Apple will still update it for a couple of more years (even iPhone 5S from 2013 is still getting updates).

MIUI really bothers me. The idea of having to ROM the OS from get go because it is crap really annoys me.

>Redmi 6
Mediatek MT6762 Helio P22 (12 nm)
>Mi A2 Lite
Qualcomm MSM8953 Snapdragon 625 (14 nm)
>Redmi 5 Pro
Qualcomm SDM636 Snapdragon 636 (14 nm)
I'm kinda out of the loop for smartphone processors. Is the Snapdragon 625 the best? I see the name thrown around a lot.

I saw that, but I don't trust the seller, the specs are wrong.
>resolution
> 2160 x 1080
>battery
> 3.000 milliampere_hour

>bought a pocophone
>got brutal screen bleed
Do I just return this shit and buy one somewhere else? I love everything about this phone, but the bleed is killing me. Also, shouldn't prices drop soon since they're gonna release the Mix 3?

All phones are glass backed these days
