>are the chinese up to no good?
Who can say?

Some cool products
MIUI is bloatware=evil

what are custom roms

>are x y?
Yes.

Yeah, it's ad riddled even on on Xiaomi EU. They've also been caught phoning home to servers in china.

Artificial product segregation
if you want Type C you have to buy a Xiaomi as no current Redmi has Type C.
if you want a headphone jack and MicroSD, you're limited to Redmi or the Mi Max 3,
if you want IR blaster you're limited to a few select Redmis.

The low volume when plugging in speakers via the headphone jack but is not fixed even on the Mi Max 3, you have to resort to 3rd party APK hacks to boost the output.
Rather than fixing the fucking problem Xiaomi decided to remove the headphone jack on all the other Mi phones and force bluetooth down your throat.

Also the Redmi Note 6 Pro is a cost down Note 5 with a notch.

>Yeah, it's ad riddled even on on Xiaomi EU. They've also been caught phoning home to servers in china.
Just unlock the bootloader and install a non-MIUI custom ROM, Xiaomi phones have a great developer community.

>Artificial product segregation
What manufacturer doesn't do that?

Fuck man I just got my Redmi Note 4X from the mail...

Buy their shit and flash a custom ROM if you want something cheap with decent hardware

I already have my mi max 2 unlocked, newer versions of the google camera mod can only take pictures and crashes when switching to video, and all the third party pajeet roms are shit tier reskins with glaring bugs like the in-call volume doesn't fucking work. and a disclaimer from the mudslime claiming it's "unofficial" and that they aren't responsible for it.

If there was just a way for their full screen gesture system to work outside of MIUI. It's phenomenal.

first thing you should do is flash Lineage OS on it

They are owned by the chinese goverment
Do your math

this

Short reminder that the MI A1 is the best phone you can get for below 200€ because of it's clean Android 8.1. The MI A2 hasnt improved except for the camera.

I'm not sure. I expect them to phone home in China, on their servers with my usage statistics, but at the same time while I am using an Android device, Google's doing that to begin with... So does it really matter that Google is phoning back home to the good ole USA and Xiaomi is phoning back to China? They both don't really care about EU laws anyway.

The Chinese are never up to any good.

>evil
what does that mean to you in context of a tech company?

>they started selling stuff in my neighbourhood

MI A2 Lite has a slightly larger battery; 3080 vs 4000

A very similar phone with a notch.

A2 is a down grade they removed the SD card and the IR irblaster because they only have those for Redmi phones now.

Good hardware
Software is the worst shit ever but one who buys xiaomi has already in mind to install a custom rom, expect the pajeet at their forums that worship miui as some kind of god.

I use one of their routers, its actually really good, the Android app is also good.

this
also it looks and feels surprisingly nice

>implying a pajeet ROM is better than chink spyware
We aren't safe anywhere, user

Official Lineage isn't pajeetified so ...

>Is $x evil?
Yes.
Always.

Its not bad, I've got mine in January, just werks
Also, use a custom ROM, lots are available and they're stable, miui is shit

Attached: attack on shaman.jpg (1590x1102, 367K)

Good choice. Have mine almost a year now, still great

>nah bro they're great, just void your warranty and install pajeetware instead of chinkware
I mean... It's shit either way.

Lineage (the official one) isn't made by pajeets. They're the same dudes from cyanogen.

>Implying rashed isn't Rashed Abdel-Tawab.

>ad
wat?

Only allowed 30 days after you submit a bootloader unlock request

Its phone home Amazonaws every fucking second. Its good, goy.

fuck xiaomi hail meizu

A couple of days ago I would have said "no" but after the update to MIUI 10, I can't say I'm happy.

Miui phones home a lot.

who hates miui? it was way better than stock android with better apps better framework, good defaults, better looking too.
did it just start to suck? everyone was excited to get it ported, it was smoother than stock and had better battery life too. where did it go wrong?

gist.github.com/eboye/ef2f8c3e9e3b32c0980ff1a226770b1c#file-adaway-miui-blocklist

I like your anal isis.

i think the glass is different on this versus redmi because my cum doesn't smear as much when i'm using it.

>in context of a tech company?
not entirely sure Xiaomi is a tech company. They do make a lot of tech, that's for sure. They also makes screwdrivers, shoes, lamps, air fresheners and who knows what.

that picture is even related, Xiaomi makes toilet seats. Yes, really.

I know it's common to think about them as a cell phone company.. but they aren't.

₪ just a coincidence

Try edge gestures on the play store, very similar, I love it

>tfw owning a mi max 3
>headphone jack
>microsd + 128gb
>type c
>IR transmitter
>no fuck ugly notch
>using bluetooth speakers anyway because not an aux cuck (car stereos already have their own amps)
Once I get to flashing a GSI it'll be the perfect phone

Evil because they make Samsung obsolete, yes.

MIUI 8 was the last good version. It had XMIUI and MIUI tweaks, the volume/dimmer sliders weren't as gimped as they are now (at least when combined with xiaomi.eu, letting you tap anywhere on the slider to jump to that value), per app dpi still works by virtue of not being fucking oreo, the security app not being as fucked as it is in its current state, no longer possible to show notification toggles in a separate screen (or at least implementing rr-style swipe down once for toggles) and more
The best version was still MIUI 5 though, back when the developers were still passionate about ROM creation. It had a TON of features we now take for granted, notification toggles, fine tune permissions, flashlight toggles, and way more that I'm uncertain about since a lot of it has either been integrated with stock android or removed by xiaomi altogether due to ignorance.

>phoning home to servers
you know every single phone does this right?

The only thing I wish Max 3 had is NFC

Android = evil, and for poor pajeets that like chinkshit

A2 and A2 Lite come with stock Android.

However those two phones are -too- cheap. They need to release a ~300 Android One phone and I'd buy it.

This is false, I sent in a request for my mi mix 2, and they got back to me literally the same day with approval. They are just trying to make sure someone doesn't try to repackage and sell their phones as something else, huge problem in china.

still happy w/ my redmi 4 prime. geting 4-5 days battery life because of 4100 mAh and Razziell's miracle droid build. the developer community is much more active on 4pda than xda, btw.

>mi
More like HDMI am i right?

Attached: more like hd mi am i right haha get it.jpg (2089x1200, 85K)

haha epic

I've been getting random ads from my Xiaomi Mi A1 phone, and I found that it was built into the phone, the only thing you can opt out of is not having them personalized to your tastes. Maybe Xiaomi is evil for letting Google spawn ads while I'm watching porn. I think it's just Google though. Xiaomi's pretty chill.

My phone is clean even without an adblocker. Just uninstall mi services and the mi store.

This?

Attached: Screenshot_20181023-213908~02.png (1080x608, 40K)

Why don't you flash adaway + a custom ROM to bypass this problem entirely?

t. no-GAPPS Lineage Mi A1 owner

And you don't get ads?

Attached: Screenshot_20181023-214811~01.png (1080x810, 62K)

This too and uninstall Mi community (hidden app)

nope, no ads at all

Attached: Screenshot_Settings_20181024-125254.png (1080x1920, 110K)

How would you be able to see that?
Well, sometime in the future I actually might do that. Thanks user.

In the settings > apps > find the app > uninstall

The stock launcher hides this app and the Mi store too. You can see it by using a third party launcher like Nova

How convenient I am using Nova. I still don't see it though.

>is evil?
yes

>Using a Chinese router

There's openwrt, although the bootloader might still have aids

I use my xiaomi vacuum every week, it picks up a ton of lint

I used one of their phones, forgot which one it was. maybe the redmi2. can only remember REALLY hating the ugly orangey shit UI which looked like a extremely cheap ios knockoff. the camera was ok though.

also there was no google play and i sure as shit ain't gonna be using no chink app store

Any tutorials on achieving this? And how usable it all is without gapps?

>happy w/ my redmi 4 prime. geting 4-5 days battery life because of 4100 mAh and Razziell's miracle droid build.
Tell me more about this build and how it works for you. Does everything like Bluetooth, the IR remote blaster (not that I really need it, there's an app for my surround receiver) and everything else work perfectly? Do you trust this Razziell person? Is it worth using a custom ROM on this phone?

I'm still using the stock ROM on my redmeme 4 prime, that's why I'm curious. I've never seen those ads other people are talking about (never seen someone say they have them on this phone, though) and there's really nothing wrong with the stock ROM. But I am curious where custom ROMs are at for this phone.

Attached: xiaomi-redmeme-4-prime-wallets-IMG_20180912_211143.jpg (3226x934, 1.26M)

No, he doesn't know.

Give me $300, I will get you an A2.

Nigger tier shit we must kill

Both lineageOS devs for my lg g3 are polish so this argument is false

>artificial product segregation
So every single phone they produce has to have the same features?

Cheap but are severely overrated, construction and component wise they are pretty lacking but they are not evil like hisense so good luck to them

>t. board repair

Eh, as evil as other big companies. Personally I can't give a fuck anymore. I would be a hypocrite to use google services and not xiaomi ones based on who's spying me.

I have a Mi Max 2. I've been enjoying Xiaomi.eu but I would lie if I said it's the best thing ever. The lockscreen lacks features, the launcher itself is very basic with no support for icon packs other than the trashy ones at the store and the way it works with changing the size of shit on screen is stupid enough to look on how to manually change DPI instead. Not to mention it seems to dislike magisk quite a bit.

The issue is, my device (Mi Max 2) just like other phones is in that place where Oreo ROMs don't work so perfectly (and there's no official Oreo anyways) and Nougat ones are out of date. Another issue I find on custom ROMs is that not only there are some bugs (like volume in calls and stupid stuff, camera's fine because of gcam), it does feel a bit laggy. As though all that "bloat" that the MIUI based ROMs have is not precisely that bad in comparison with the barebones shit. I don't know how to explain it.

xiaomi.eu
literally bloatware free version

Every phone should have fucken type C and headphone jacks.

Happy with my Mi Mix 1 it works as it is on Verizon and don't want to even try it not working with another rom. Only gripe is I can't get the messenger to switch languages easily

Every phone should have fucken USB 3.0 and VGA.

If it ain't broke don't fix it. If only Apple knew that term.
