startpage, searx.xyz , qwant lite, searchencrypt, findx and swisscows. Yandex is great for images, but it's botnet.
Alternate search engines?
I have tried both Bing and DuckDuckGo, but none of them comes close to Google's results.
Use YaCy, it's a libre P2P decentralised search engine. Users wilingfully contribute to the crawler by feeding it URLs.
just run your own instance of Algolia at home with a crawler script. voila, your own private search engine
NO search engine is as good as Google for searches in most cases.
If you're looking for pirated content or controversial topics though, Google is shit.
If you look for an old documentary by the BBC or something, you can't find it on Google, but you'll find it right away on DDG.
Same for information about the holocaust being fake. Google manipulates data on controversial topics.
But anyway, for random and banal searches, Google still is the best.
If you can handle not having the "best", Bing or DDG are fine.
I like DDG best.
>> I posted on Jow Forums one day anonymously and said the n-word (don't know if it gets you banned on this board) so this must be why I didn't get hired.
No board on Jow Forums bans you for saying the word nigger, nigger.
