How exactly does this manage to clean my fans and heatsinks?
Zachary Morgan
Bulk Crap Uninstaller.
None, but if you must, then use Immunet.
QTTabBar.
SMPlayer.
None. The default one on W7 is good enough, but use SumatraPDF for reading comics and opening a folder full of pictures.
None.
ClipX, Tixati, pngyu and pinga.

these threads are great keep em up

>This is NOT Windows vs any other OS thread. well, obviously. if it was windows vs any other OS those niggers would be seething crying about "bullying"
Caleb Ross
sumatrapdf is based desu. -invert-color to get nightmode is absolutely based and better than adobe's shit
Nathan Gray
ccleaner is fucking malware, remove it
Dominic Moore
Had heard this too but wasn't sure What's a good alternative? Glarys, or bleachbit and autoruns? I liked that ccleaner would let me keep cookies for the few sites I wanted to stay logged into but that's not a big deal
Brayden Sanchez
I just tried standard notes - I like it, but the gui is too big. you can zoom out but once you restart the program it changes back to big. why isn't there a setting for this, and is there an alternative to this program?
Jonathan Ward
defrag.exe + little registry cleaner

installed 10 enterprise 2019 ltsc. pretty comfy, no cortana, no apps installed, not much of anything not even edge. feels like windows minus the shitty bloat. no store, so no forza 4me but whatever, i'll take it.
Nolan Carter
this shit is painfully out of date, let's make a new one
>graphics editor paint.net, krita >torrent qbittorent >text editor vscode/codium, sublimetext >mediaplayer audacious, AIMP, auremo+mpd for windows
Christopher Campbell
yeah. microsoft One Note which is free, standard notes is the open source clone of that somewhat similar stuff but more oriented to coding could be Atom or Sublimetext
Justin Howard
Who here chocolatey?
Parker Moore
why use that shit over powershell packagemanagement
Owen Bennett
looks like the free version is kinda a gui for that

Are there any inexpensive 4:3 windows tablets besides the teclast x89 and Mytrix Singular C10Q? The x89 is only 8 inches and has shit battery life and it's basically impossible to buy the c10q.
Parker Sanchez
Last night I asked you guys to help me speed up my 5 year old laptop. I took the advice and opened this bitch up, pic related. On a scale of 1-10 how bad was this really? What is this white shit?
I took a can of compressed air and cleaned it as best as I possibly could (unfortunitely I forgot to take after pics). Here's what I've noticed so far:
- idle temps are actually higher than before by about 5 degrees give or take
- programs start up faster
- screen does not flicker anymore (I knew this was a problem going in, and just another reason to open it up. I jiggled the wire and it seems to be okay for now).
- boot up time significantly reduced (was like 7 minutes).
I used Spybot and Malwarebytes to do a full scan and they both came up with nothing. Why are the temps so high? (are they that high?) pic below.
Stop being a fucking sperg and install your security updates. It's retards like you that turned already fixed exploits like wannacry into international news.
Replace: CCleaner with BleachBit HoneyView with Nomacs / ImageGlass Foobar2k with Clementine MPC-HC with VLC / mpv Firefox Nightly with Firefox ESR Chromium with Brave / unGoogled Chromium TrueCrypt with VeraCrypt Deluge with PicoTorrent DuckDuckGo with Searx / Qwant
>>media >vlc is god for all But does vlc have Good deband ????? Does vlc continue to dither 10bit content to 8bit or did they patch it ??? Does vlc have interpolation ???
Hudson Torres
why are you using a samsung processor line as your name
Thomas Lopez
>Foobar2k with Clementine you're kidding, right?
>DuckDuckGo with Searx / Qwant whats wrong with duckduckgo? bang shortcuts are the comfiest
Jose Jenkins
My opinion is valuable my darling mouthbreather.
Sweetie using windows in 2018 is autistic.

>Deluge with PicoTorrent Pico Torrent can't deal with japanase characters.
John Adams
that's why you use qBitTorrent
Josiah Garcia
Seriously though, why is this shit allowed? An OS which has build-in ads should be free as in free beer. Ubuntu rightfully got some shit for their Amazon thing but this is even worse.
>maintenance default windows disk cleanup/storage is enough >security defender is enough but if you insists malwarebytes windows firewall control - god tier firewall software >file management 7zip if you dont mind ugly ui. winrar just works perfectly for me >media vlc, yes im not suggesting the shitty mpv meme >images microsoft office picture manager - this is probably the most underrated software of all time infranview >communication pidgin i guess, although i suggest just use the browser >utilities literally everthing in nirsoft check it ccmaker - adobe products mp3tag - for editing mp3/flac metadata icaros - webm thumbnails handbrake - for converting webms windows remote desktop manager - very handytool if you manage multiple window servers ninite/chocolatey - its the package manager equivalent in windows

Is the latest update still fucked and deleting files?
Jason Turner
I wouldn't keep anything in the Documents folder just to be sure.
Joshua Rodriguez
Uhhuh. NMI received for unknown reason 20 on CPU 1. Do you have a strange power saving mode enabled? Dazed and confused, but trying to continue
I wish I could install qbtorrent daemon with webui like in linux.
Sebastian Diaz
>security >AV The default shit on W10 and bit defender free on W7. >anti-malware KVT or malwarebytes. Also a sucessor of EMET would be nice. >Firewall The default shit on W10 and tinywall on W7. >crypto Bitlocker in W10 (because of aes 128) and Veracrypt in W7 (because of simplicity of password)
Tyler Clark
install windows 7 and use simplix update pack then disable windows update
Blake Ramirez
I plan on buying a new laptop, but the CPU doesn't have Windows 7 drivers, is it possible to install win 7 on it anyway? If so then how?
Because it's taking shit from me and handle it like hurd
Hudson Cook
Oh shit, I didn't know you could do this. Fuck yeah! (What I actually did was go in advanced options and edit the hexadecimal color codes under page ui.) Absolutely based. Fuck adobe. The updates break more shit than they help, and every time it updates it resets all my settings, including privacy settings. Fuck updates. Only retards ever get viruses. I forget all the shit I did but I'm running win10 and it doesn't update now. You can look into third party software to get the job done. OOSU10. Dunno if it's Jow Forums approved but it does seem to work. I did some other fixes using powershell. I don't see any hint of cortana or edge existing now. Also using classic shell to get rid of the metro cancer.
Brody Miller
Alright I'm a bit fucked up with this.
Supposedly Windows 10 1809 is getting a fuckload of bugs. I have not yet experienced any of those with a clean installation when it was still available (I guess now it isn't because it's mad broken) but let's say that I still think I did a dumb thing and maybe I should have just kept 1803 or went elsewhere.
However, I don't know if it's my GPU (Intel 4600 HD so you know what to expect) but basically with newer games that I can still play at low settings it just shits the bed on 8.1 for some reason. 2D graphics look fucked up in some games. Doesn't happen with Windows 10, but 10 does have more recent drivers.
So... should I still go back to 8.1 or 1809? I have had more issues with Windows 7, mind you, which is why I'm not even considering it at all. Maybe the 8.1 thing is something I must have missed or an update I either skipped or installed when I shouldn't.
Christian Martinez
>Foobar2k with Clementine Musicbee works best. Foobar is shit, not sure about clementine. VLC is garbage. Chrome is shit in all its forms. It's hyper-normie bloatware. Most of them fucking love it because all they do is play xbawks and run twatter and netfucks. Just decrapify it like normal, though winjews made decrapification more difficult. A few powershell commands can clear it all out.
Jacob Kelly
is 1803 safe
Matthew Ward
>microsoft can't fathom why users don't want to update their pc It's a great mystery.
Chase Reed
Something really is bugging me about win10 and that's the fucking start menu. it's SLOW as fuck and cortana is starting to piss me up. I just want a simple and fast start menu...
Isaiah Hughes
OpenShell
Tyler Ross
Thanks I'll try it out. I hope this fixes the shithole that is called windows 10.
John Russell
How does it compare to classicshell?
Gavin Roberts
It's literally ClassicShell open sourced because the original creator wanted to pursue other things.
Linux not having thumnbnails is sad, but what's even more sad is that you can't have different view types for folders, they all must be the same.
So if you set thumbnail view on the file browser to drag and drop, all other folders like your documents must also be in thumbnail view.
What a joke.
Ryder Phillips
Fucking BASED. Let's beat those GNU/Virgins. Windows users actually have work to do, so no time to maintain a shitpost thread regularly. So go back to appropriate boards, fag.
Lincoln Foster
Chocolatey was window's saving grace when I still used windows.
