That's what I'd like to be using but I don't know what specific KDE package turns this on so I get the qt filepicker instead. Tell me which part of KDE I need to install to get it and I'll use it, but I'm not installing an entire DE that I won't ever use just to get a not fucked file picker, I'd sooner use GTK's, and for that matter do.

all by this dude gist.github.com/Dudemanguy911. convenient aur packages exist but I dont think they do anything more than building from gtk source and applying these, the glib2 patch is only needed for generating thumbnails if you dont have something else doing that. apart from that just grab the gtk3 and gtk2 filechooser icon patch
