Can be replaced with a single 21:9 curved display.

how do you crowdfund something for yourself that will not benefit the society?

Crowdfund a CRT instead.

But 18:9 is good, amrite?

>4096x4096
Disgusting, the interface is gonna look like a huge phone.

that kind of monitor would easily cost over $1200

That would be really tough. It's rumored that they still make CRTs in India, but if that's true they are probably a far cry from Trinitrons. Also, both the EU and the US have outlawed the use of lead glass in electronics, and that would fuck up distribution. You could make the whole tube from barium glass rather than just the front, but that would make it even more prohibitely expensive.

Good quality 3840x2160p panels cost $800-1000

This fucker would easily run $1700-2000 especially due to it being super limited production run since no one would buy it.

Sounds good so far. Maybe DP in/out for daisy chaining, and/or usb c.

Why the fuck is it beige

>buy hipster 1:1 monitor
>put 2 side by side for 18:9 view

Can't you like, just you know, use a widescreen monitor with black bars? Seriously? You want LESS screen? What the fuck is wrong with you autists??

You could just call it 2:1

Reducing fractions ain't hard.

It's the other way around. The jews keep taking away our height... 16:12 (4:3) -> 16:10 -> 16:9
just look at 1920x1200 and 1920x1080, or 2560x1600 and 2560x1440

There is no practical difference between a ratio and a fraction in this case, if we're only talking about reducing them to the lowest common denominator.

18/9 is reduced to 2/1
The same way 18:9 can be expressed as 2:1

>still using 16:9
Pleb

>Why the fuck is it beige
To repel zoomers

human horizontal fov: 210
human vertical fov: 150
although human sight isn't uniform, and horizontal/vertical eye movement isn't the same, was can assume
human ratio: about 1.4
4:3 ratio: 1.33 (good)
16:9 ratio: 1.78 (good)
1:1 ratio: 1:1 (retarded)

What's the part number for the panel?

>human horizontal fov: 210
>human vertical fov: 150
Only true for far-peripheral vision
Even mid-peripheral is near 1:1

You can't read any text in the far-peripheral range

>not specifically increasing you fractions

Make a 2560^2 version for less than 500 dollars.
I don't mind a glossy screen (not using it outdoors anyways)

ultrawide is best for movies because 21:9 closely matches most films aspect ratio

WANT WANT WANT WANT

But most films are mastered for release at 16:9

Glossy IPS panel, at least 32 inch and a black case with small bezels and I'll buy one.

Matte coating ruins muh colors and huge bezels are ugly.

How the fuck does the surface affect the colors?
I don't use glossy because I see the reflection of my room in it, so you can only use glossy with little light, or you'll be distracted all the fucking time.

2560^2 is nice, why would you want it to be glossy?

why 1:1 ?
the width needs to be 2x the height of the screen or else it will be weird

Documents and source code are mostly taller than they're wide.

Glass screen covers have better sharpness than scotch tape plastic. It's just a more premium design.

YAY!
> What specs do you want?
> Planned so far:
> 27"
perfect
> 4096x4096
nice.
> Matte IPS panel
excellent
> Beige case
would rather it be black, all my hardware is black

it it can be done for less than £150 i will buy one

>27"
k. might wanna make a lineup so people can go bigger if they want
>4096x4096
they call it Retina display
>Matte IPS panel
old tech dude, get some OLED or something
also, 144 Hz or go home
>Beige case
bad choice, product ecosystems are key, people already have either black or white gear so your best bet is to go matter black and have white as an option. if its actually real metal then you can do silver. as less bezel as possible. you also 100% need vesa support

ever realised that you can turn your monitor 90 degrees

Then it's not wide enough
1:1 is perfect

>144 Hz
for what purpose?

smoothness

zoomie

>> 4096x4096
>less than £150

No chance unless it's a complete piece of shit.

Might as well just get two Ezio 1:1 monitors for that price.

Attached: duckplunger.jpg (1024x866, 61K)

not if it's 1:1

4k amoled 144hz

What do 1:1 monitors offer over 19:9/the rest?

and you'd have half the resolution, and effectively be creating a 2:1 display.

1920x1920 + 1920x1920 side by side gives you 1920x3840 total res.

To get 1:1 with multiple 1:1 monitors would require a 2x2 grid, or 4 monitors.

So you'd end up with 4 1920x1920 displays in a grid for 3840x3840 total res, slightly smaller than OPs theoretical 4096x4096 display.
