Although I broke the latch, the battery is at ~15% capacity (1 hour on 100% charge), and the hard drive is failing (I've got spares just haven't replaced it).
Where should I go next, anons? Is it worth repairing?

I did recently order a x230, so that one I geuss

T440S with proper track pad that I got for $100 from a crackhead

Oh and dual boot win7pro/Mint17

neo

I fucking hate the latch, I actually remove the bezel and cut off the latch hooks with a knife on my T420. Now I can just open it from any position. I don't even understand why it's needed, the screen hinge is very rigid as is.

In the end it was a good thing Lenovo decided to use the shitty trackpad because it made the t440 lose value, making it cheaper for people that are not afraid to modify them.

It doesn't matter what Lelnovo does. The thing that really drops their value is corporations buying up millions of them every year and dumping their old assets onto the 2nd hand market.

That happens with every thinkpad model, the t440 is especially cheap though, in some cases you can find it for the same price as similar configurations to the t430.
If you compare it to the t450 it's night and day in price.
The main buyer base of used thinkpads, neckbeards, still have the mindset that it is somehow inferior so it's harder to sell to them.

Damn I'm exactly both of the t420's

>somehow inferior
>shitty U cpu
Gee nigger I wonder why the x20 and x30 series are more in demand than the x40 among fat/g/oys

im literally the t420 on the left

As a whole package the t440 (even the t440s) is miles ahead of what the t430 can offer you.
The U processors in the t440 are in the worst case just as good as the t430's cpus while offering huge battery life and less heat.
