I'm moving to Europe

I'm moving to Europe.

How much cheaper are electronics in Europe compared to Aus?

Bonus question:

How do I transport my PC and my NAS as cheap and safely as possible? Also, they contain like 8 HDDs all up, mostly filled with movies and TV shows, no porn.

Is it safe to ship these through customs?

much more expensive, and i'd rip out the hdd's and carry them persoanlly in your backpack onto the jetplane, and have the rest checked in at luggage

ideally, sell all your hardware and upload your storage somewhere

Not sure about prices if Australia but electronics in Europe are expensive.
Maybe DHL is you best bet for transport. And take your hd with you on the plane as annon sudgested.

Buy an extra ticket and have your PC ride in the seat next to you. A friend of mine did that. To ship it as luggage or through post, you must harden it against being thrown around like a sack of potatoes. You could try filling the inside with packing peas. Still, high risk of destruction.

Mate, you'll be able to get more than 20Kbps download speed in Europe, you don't need to bring your physical media with you.

Don't want to rebuy all the parts and stuff though. I'm not made of money

You're suggesting carrying it on with me, meaning you think just sending it normally they might check it?

Is it even illegal to have pirated movies on my HDD

I used DHL to ship my desktop from Aus to the UK. It's very expensive, but cheaper than buying a new one. My computer was shipped without any damage.

>Is it even illegal to have pirated movies on my HDD

It probably depends on what bit of Europe.
The Krauts seem to take it quite seriously for some reason, whereas in the UK no cunt is bothered. You would only get busted if you're running a torrent site or uploading thousands of files, other than that it wouldn't be unusual for the average police officer to download GoT themselves.

What country?

Germany. And its just a bunch of bluray remuxes, etc so takes up a lot of space/HDDs for not that many movies really.

I've heard German authorities can't force you to provide the password to decrypt the HDDs, so maybe I'll encrypt them all

Electronics in Germany are much cheaper compared to Straya. Usually Mindfactory has the cheapest PC parts (order at midnight for free shipping). Use Mydealz.de for maximum jewness. If you get Vodafone/Kabel Deutschland as an internet provider don't pirate stuff without a vpn or seedbox. Never had any problems with EWE Tel but Vodafone fucked me TWICE.

Just tell the Nazi cunts to mind their own fucking business.

Why

Don't even bother. Gumtree that shit now and rebuy when you get settled.

Pirating things is not illegal in Germany, only uploading (this includes seeding) is illegal

Maybe about the same if not more expensive, but I think it depends on where. Don't the germs have pretty cheap tech?

Go to the UK

In general electronics are more expensive, for the customs part it really depends on country. Swedish computer laws are quite privacy minded and you would never be required to boot them up or provide passwords.

Germany has Europe's cheapest electronics. Geizhals.eu and smaller shops which sell refurbished stuff are the way to go.

you'd sell them before moving, giving you some extra cash
hell, if hardware turns out to be more expensive in Aus than on Europe, you could probably sell high in Aus since your countrymen have to buy expensive hardware anyways, and that money could get you a somewhat decent rig in Europe
did you check Newegg or Amazon with the same product to compare?

>Is it legal
Yes

>How much cheaper are electronics in Europe
AHAHHAHA

AUS dollars are worth shit in Europe. Computer hardware is more expensive in Europe compared to the USA, I'd say it's about the same prices as in Australia. But because the currency is higher valued it's even more expensive, especially if you come from Australia which has basically monopoly money as a currency.
