When Tool finally release their new album

JUST FUCKING WAIT FOR NAVI

What for? RX 570 8GB still has no competition.

I got an rx 550 last year and i'm still comfy with it.

you don't need anything more than rx570 for 1080p and vega56 for 1440p. 4k is pointless

>fuck future proofing, just buy something that's good for now

I've been on Jow Forums for over 10 years, this is the first thread I've seen where everyone else but OP is being a faggot.

there is a new GPU

>future proofing
There is no such thing.
NPCs bought GTX 1080Ti for "future proofing" only to realize now they're left out of the raytracing bandwagon

Vega 56 isn't even competitive at around $400. You can find 1070tis available for that much.

There was a new GPU launch this year, Vega Nano.

Like I give a flying fuck about raytracing. I don't jerk it to photorealistic 3D loli and I don't need my fucking murder simulators to be any more realistic either.

>1 card after roughly a year since Vega
ehh...
not that nVidia is better, all they did was rebrand the 1060 and 1030 like 3 times for the last 2 years until RTX showed up

>12 years passed
they won't, Satan, they won't...

Attached: qt_baphomet5.jpg (369x369, 12K)

Nice coping mechanism

there are 5 versions of the 1060 even

>new GPU
vega 56 is fine for 1440p video games (I assume this is why you care about new GPUs)

Obvious seething aside, it will take two years at the very least for this to be a widespread feature, and nobody should care about what happens two years in the future who wants to buy a graphics card now.

Buying first generation hardware for a demo feature is top tier autism.

shit don't remind me

The 1060 was never rebranded as another sku or in another generation, nor was the 1030 to my knowledge.

not by the book definition, sure, buy you get what I mean
there are like 5 different products with a "1060" on their name, and a 1030 came out using DDR4 memory

Yeah, but that's like saying the RX 580 4GB is a rebranded RX 580 8GB. Nobody refers to them that way.
People use the term "rebrand" to refer to marketing an old product like a new one by changing the name, perhaps with minor tweaks thrown in at most. ex. RX 480-580.

(cont)
But I agree the line can be unclear sometimes, like if the new 1060 GDDR5X is actually a cut down 1070, is that a "rebranding" of the 1070? Kinda fuzzy.

>>still no new gpu

the 590 is literary coming next month

They have one album left on their contract. They have to eventually.

10 series are already getting nerfed to not compete with 20. Give it a year and 56 will be consistently outperforming 1070ti

1060 3GB
1060 5GB
1060 6GB
1060 6GB 9GBps
1060 6GB GDDR5X
There are also couple of the mobile 1060 MaxQ or something

>muh future-proofing
>says the intelkike that spams 720p and 1080p benchmarks while brushing away all 1440p and 4k benchmarks

and the nice thing is; most stores don't specify which 1060 it is

>10 series are already getting nerfed
I have seen people claim this, but never substantiate it.

>wants AMD to finally fucking release their new lineup
>intelkike
t. functional illiterate

AMD shills are breain dead pajeets. Don't argue with them at all

>and nobody should care about what happens two years in the future who wants to buy a graphics card now
Nice future proofing

t. "breain" dead pajeet lmoa

heh more like when tapeworm finally releases - or is that when AMD releases a top-tier GPU again?

>Named 'Devils Due' it's 12 33.2s tracks of white noise overlayed with pink noise.

There also still no new games. And Minecraft runs fine.

Future proofing GPUs is pointless at the rate they advance. There's something to be said for CPU and motherboard future proofing, but with GPUs you're better off buying upper mid-range more frequently, rather than high end infrequently.

My R9 Fury is still plenty. No reason to upgrade until Cyberpunk 2077.

How many iterations of the GTX 1060 now?

>The only option is to not participate
NPC detected

AMD fag here
I'm not a pajeet, I'm just a poor Yuro, and thus I buy what I can afford.

>rx570 for 1080p
Is that 60 fps?
What about 144
240
fps@1080p?

6

Even if most games are GPU bottlenecked in these resolutions, Ryzen still lose to Coffee Lake.

is using a sli worth it?
