Can't you just read those manga with hiragana on top of the kanji and practice by that? You should be able to understand anime without having to learn kanji too.

If they seriously all look the same, try the kangxi radicals deck and practice it. It has 214 cards which isn't much, but remember to practice all the versions on the card. If you can tell the components apart kanji are just short sentences by themselves, something much easier to remember. Eventually your brain will easily scan these and it'll make for fast reading. I write kanji to memorize them better. Stroke order is important, and the Kodansha deck I mentioned has pictures with stroke order.
