I dare you to take that into an airport or a public school

2 USB ports
Accepted!

and that's a good thing!

desu this must be pretty easy to turn into a bomb detonator

>no bloat
>Has Wi-Fi, HDMI, full-size USB and a 3.5 mm jack (Bluetooth as an option)
why do you need this in a phone?

Non-free boot loader
Non-free baseband

Do these still work today? I'm considering ditching my smartphone for an old cellphone. I use it too much and it gets distracting.

411?

any phone is

Good luck getting that thing through customs lol

Depending on the age they should work. I know some people in rural areas keep them around because they have a lot better reception. Basically anything post 1991-ish should still work fine.

The old 80's dynatac phones (pre 2G) no longer work though.

I've also heard some mumblings about a possible discontinuation of 2G somewhere in the not so distant future.

>all the bomb jokes

these kids don't get outside much

Hopefully. GSM is terribly insecure and should be replaced with 4G throughout.

I climb a cellphone tower and connect an old dialing wheel phone to call
My phone is so bloat and botnet free you faggots cannot compete

>herro? operator? i'd like to make a collect call...

this dude is from my local hackerspace if i'm not mistaken.

The Fake Bomber could at least use one of this and not Hollywood bomb clock

I'm good. Thanks.

found the s󠀀oyboy

found the boomer

Had a colleague with the same model (or almost same). Worked perfectly, he modded the fuck out of the firmware, had other games on it, keypad was new and he even had an NFC chip on it (connected to battery to get into the lab).

Talked about putting an AMOLED display on it.

2G dies in 2019, T-mobile is the only carrier that still supports it (Ting too since it's their parent network)

You only need 1 button.
Use random number generator to choose a number.

What Linux app gives me SMS send/receive function? How would it work?

>running terminal XMPP client and SMS app in one device, seamless transition

Oh boy, I'd get it just to try it.

Not really.

T-Mobile is the only major carrier in the US with 2G GSM coverage.

Coverage, while good in my area, is spotty in others.

Many "4G LTE" phones still require 2G or 3G for voice because they don't do voice over IP which you need for a pure LTE system. Which is called Voice Over LTE.

But now Voice Over LTE phones are now becomming common.

The cellular companies won't care about 2 & 3G once they have LTE fully built up and have 5G too.

Verizon is pretty close to being fully LTE.

So in the US with T-Mobile , you might get 3 more years out of 2G, but expect it be done by then.

*achoo*

But does it make calls

>full blown general purpose OS
>bloatless
There is no need to run linux to make phone calls. The system could have been built with just the Arduino.
