Sup Jow Forums, quick question:

how do we kill the "hamburger" icon? What should we use instead?

What's wrong with it?

turn it into a gear, problem solved

We need to kill "load more" instead of page numbers first

people will assume those are the settings.

How about plain old HTML and CSS?

Mobile UI design has completely annihilated good desktop UI design principles. It's ogre, its all ogre my friends. The only solution is to go back in time and exterminate people who created smart phones and tablets.

>he thinks the hamburger menu originated in mobile UI

we should instead DISPLAY THE FUCKING OPTIONS IT HIDES
theres so many ways to accomplish this
>do it like windows, with a top bar
>do it like mac os with a detached menu bar
>do it like NeXt with a detacheable dropdown sticky menu
>do it like beOS– wait, how did beOS actually do it?

just don't make me klick an additional item. and also make your shit shortcutable. and implement >help>search for like mac os. and run over web"devs" when you see em.

It's stupid, but people finally know what it means, so might as well keep it.

THIS, so much this

>we should instead DISPLAY THE FUCKING OPTIONS IT HIDES
or just take the option away completely

the burger only loads when it's on a small screen (i.e. smartphones). what do you propose, faggot? a multi-row options menu on a phone screen?

there's literally nothing wrong with the hamburger

Hamburgers are at the top of the food pyramid.
They have no natural predators.
What are you going to do now?

>reading youtube comments
>misclick "reply" or like/dislike buttons instead of "view replies"
>page changes to google login
>try to go back
>video playback and comment scrolling restart from the beginning

I would also like to murder whoever decided we need to see "2 weeks ago" instead of actual dates and times

>how do we kill the "hamburger"

no it doesn't, more and more often desktop sites and apps are getting them too. It's inefficient to make and maintain two different layouts, and mobile only simpletons will complain that they're confused when they have to use the desktop version.

Are you an apple software engineer by chance?

In what 3rd world country do you live grampa?
honestly I want to move there and be young men together
This and not requiring Javascript to login are too hard for Google to do.

long live the menu bar

This thread is bloat

Those websites have poor design then

Source?

>What should we use instead?
French fries :)

Nothing can describe my hate for this shit.

The whole site is such an awful clusterfuck. Funny how they desperately try to invent new ways to make more profit, but are unable to create a functioning UI.

>floating action button
t. google

Fuck that. Fuck it a million years. Such a cretin design!

Your welcome

So, nothing then? It's fine? That's what I thought.

So... what's wrong with it? I'm curios

Takes too much space and often shows up on top of important content. You then have to fiddle scrolling up and down to make it dissapear and read whatever is there.

>what is opacity
It's shit implementation you are hating on nothing else. Any other cons?

>what is opacity
Tell it to google. The FAB is opaque everywhere.

How did this become the standard.
HOW.
Things got worse what the fuck.

Both would be great
