The UNIX philosophy is overrated

The UNIX philosophy is overrated.

Linux sucks.

I want an OS that is not bloated, not backward compatible, and not an incomprehensible mess of patchwork. I want clean modules and abstractions.

I want an OS whose base utilities can be summarized on a postcard.

The status quo sucks, all software is crap, in 35 years kids will look at us the way we look at punch-card programmers.

All software sucks.

Use iOS.

install minix

Tanenbaum is a kike, you do realise?

In other words, you want an operating system that doesn't do anything, and which no software supports.

Install Plan9

Agreed

Install TempleOS

this. every command has its own flag set, style, and syntax to the point that it is useless

Install 9front

>I want an OS that is not bloated, not backward compatible
>but obviously it must have all the features I want and run all my software

Use macOS. They are dropping support for 32bit programs.

C-lets won. It's too late

Mezzano, the operating system written entirely in Common Lisp (and some ASM).

bizbox

Install Redox OS. You can't spell trust without rust.

If this was plebbit, you'd be downvoted to oblivion.
But you're right. And anybody who thinks otherwise just hasn't used an actually semi-decent OS such as AmigaOS or BeOS.
