>tor
No thanks. Iam not pedo.

Yes

People used to buy drugs on it. I think they still do. Don't know if they browse g.

Can you guys list useful uses of TOR for the average non-spy/diplomat that doesn't involve snuff/cp/porn?

Honestly I'm way more interested in hard to find info, programs, etc.

This is exactly what I wanted to have as answer.

I run a Tor relay and a legal hidden service.
I use Ricochet to chat with friends over Tor.

Wouldn't running a tor relay compromise your safety in any way?

More people use it for drugs than CP.

>hard to find info, programs, etc
Some newbie always asks this question and I can tell you right now you're not going to find secret alien documents or insider source information on tech giants. It doesn't exist.

>I chat over tor
Kv NPC detected

its just illegal drugs and porn. thats it.
there are hidden services that contain forums for discussing hacking/malware, but 99% of them are just advanced LARPing. The other 1% are not open to the public so there's no point looking.
the drug scene is honestly pretty interesting. there are huge lists that people have collated of how people have been busted in darknet stings, from huge operations to "controlled deliveries" for personal amounts.

There's also guides on fraud, credit card skimmers and purchasing stolen cards, etc.

I wouldn't trust any of that shit though.

Yeah for buying drugs :^) It's pretty good.

I watch CP on my ThinkPad X60 with TOR. Also i use same device for study.

I use it for cock.li and Ricochet.

boi expect the FBI soon

Jow Forums party van at your street in 5... 4... 3...

maybe if you were running an exit node using your home network connection. otherwise, nope.

Yeah. Don't run Tor services at home. Use a Tor friendly provider. Let them deal with the problems that arise from the shit that will flow through your relay. Also helps to speed up the network instead of using a home connection, unless you've got some crazy home network connection.

Relays are no big deal at all. Only exit nodes.

I use it because pirate bay is unbearably slow and times out most of the time I try to reach it using generic browser and normal internet.

there is an onion site called 'the imperial library of trantor' that has a bunch of e-books on it. it's really the only reason why i use TOR, but it is a bit of fun looking for tor sites. some of them are pretty weird though...

It's good only for preserving your privacy on the internet, and even though I care about that I find myself not usually using it anyway because it's slow.

>'the imperial library of trantor'
Thanks for this one

>What can I expect to find here that I can't get on clearnet sites?

I use Tor to buy weed from the dark web. You can get some dank quality stuff for prices much lower than street value and no need to meet shady people IRL, it's like the Amazon Prime for drugs. Shit gets delivered to PO Box in only 2-3 days and package looks like any other package you get from eBay.

Lets say CP is fully legal to produce, distribute and posses tomorrow.
What will be TOR's main use case then?

giving privacy to anyone who doesn't want their conversations recorded

Still drugs

Recently I wanted to download an app from the JP Android Market, so I used an Orbot tunnel with the Yalp Store to download it. Very convenient.

I use it for a few onion imageboards, textboards etc. nothing illegal. The only way you'll find cp on there is if you go looking for it. So stop with these tor=cp threads every fucking day.

I use tor as a free vpn for cleanet and I imagine 80% of people do the same

Can you name a few of those boards?

>these are the types of retards Jow Forums is now filled with

Nowadays I'm paying for betting info. It's not even illegal as far as I'm aware. wallst52pxrtzwch.onion/offer/12040 if anyone's interested.

Nice larp. But why would you do this to yourself?

>You can get some dank quality stuff for prices much lower than street value and no need to meet shady people IRL, it's like the Amazon Prime for drugs
This, except its not as overpriced as Prime.

Post links. Also
>The only way you'll find cp on there is if you go looking for it
same goes for clearnet.

Must be comfy snuggeling up by your fireplace with a cup of hot coco & your Thinkpad watching CP on a cold winters night.

In a timeline CP is fully legal, drugs would probably be as well.

People will still buy drugs through dark web because it's cheaper. Just compare legal weed prices to dark web prices. Government prices are a rip off plus they're taxed.

CGMC and dream market

People able to say China sucks while you're in China.

doesn't using TOR put you on a FBI watchlist nowadays?

It was literally made by the FBI along with bitcoin.

I'm sure there is private sites and groups out there who find their own uses. Most likely criminal or revolutionary in nature. Perhaps political groups as well. I haven't found much out there worth looking at. Tor's best "ethical" use is supporting journos in oppressive regimes.

I hate the fuck CP shit. It almost seems like controlled opposition.

It's like any cool or decentralized gets over ran by fucking peado nazi's and ruin immediately.

Tor
Bitchute
Jow Forums

You fucking name it. Bunch of incel faggots and their edgy memes are the greatest tools of the neo liberal order.

Not necessarily. It depends on if the site was compromised by the FBI. That's how most CP users get caught because they're too stupid to disable JavaScript.

this and dread for checking vendors

So does that not hold any weight as long as I don't do anything wrong while using TOR

that other guy is a moron
your isp (and thus whatever authorities they talk to) can fairly easily see that you're using tor.
its why whenever someone talks about tor they always mention needing more "normal" traffic going through it

If alphabet agencies have a system for personal ratings I'm sure usage of tor will add at least half a level. Before you tell me to put my tinfoil hat on - Israeli government is known for assigning every person wanting to enter the country a security rating.

I use it as poor man's vpn for everyday browsing. Satisfied?

Not the other guy, but you're the moron.
>your isp (and thus whatever authorities they talk to) can fairly easily see that you're using tor.
Not if you configure a bridge, which prevents your ISP from knowing you're using tor. It's how people get on tor when it's banned in their country.

You can also use a vpn, if you dare, and route your tor traffic through that. But the bridge is enough, it's literally what it was created for.

A bridge is just two virtual adapters using the same physical adapter.

I think you mean a tunnel.

making a bridge is obfuscating the traffic to appear as something else, right? so if all i want to do is look at drugs and never order them i'm ok using a bridge?

your isp can't see tor traffic. you don't need a bridge unless you're in the middle east or china.

I use it daily for web browsing. You can browse the clearnet with it and it prevents tracking.

Just using Tor is all that's needed for you to be put on the watchlist.

Is tails OS + Tor a safe combo to use if I want to lurk illegal sites out of curiosity?

maybe back in 2010

There are WAY too many tor users to bother with now. Unless you're downloading tens of gigabytes of files though tor, your ISP doesn't give a shit

>illegal sites
I wanted to give derogatory answer detailing how stupid you are thinking walking around a marketplace which also lists contraband will get you prosecuted until I realized owners of such marketplaces have been in fact being prosecuted by first world governments for operating said marketplaces for a few years now. Not a long stretch to think the buyers and bystanders will get prosecuted too.

>I hate the fuck CP shit
what do you mean? you hate the fuck out of CP or do you hate the "fuck CP" shit?
Also, yeah you're right, remember when you could still upload images with files embedded into them? but guess what? it got fucking nuked because edgy niggers started sending images with shit embedded in them.

Meant I hate CP.

I know there some sick fucks out there. But it's also know the FBI keeps it going to "catch more".

They're motivated just enough to harvest the pedos every so often for optics but not properly motivated to end it all other wise their source of good boy points would dry up.

Isn't like most CP on tor actually FBI honey pots?

That doesn't answer my question you autist.

>le pedo meme

My only use of it is browsing Jow Forums because my isp blocked Jow Forums

Your isp blocked pol? But Jow Forums lets you post from tor?

Why lie like this user?

TailsOS supposedly.

Honestly though if you're technical, you'll want a librebooted completely free OS machine with absolutely no binary blobs. Some linux distro that's completely foss or a *bsd.

But that might be over kill. Depends on your personal threat level, where you are in the world and if a law enforcement agency is already got an eye on you.

the fbi doesn't have magic powers able to link every ip to every individual that uses it. they could put ips that connect to tor on a list, but that would take ordering every isp in america around. would be a complete waste of time and money.

overkill for browsing. use whatever os you're currently on, but make sure the tpr security slider is on high.

>Jow Forums lets you post from tor

Nice try, FBI

Can we be friends? None of my friends could even be arsed to download signal FFS.

yeah, since it's nearly impossible for you to fuck yourself

Attached: Richard_Matthew_Stallman.jpg (393x298, 72K)

Paying for betting info? What does this mean exactly ?,

Why would your friends want to fall for a honeypot botnet such as signal?

it's all about money and markets, and markets there sell mostly weapons and drugs.
sane and decent people use tor because they don't want to be cash cows for super-massive capitalist algorithms of today's web, and that's pretty much all.

That he's a mentally ill person who pays for snake oil.

It was made by the navy

Probably not most. But one of the busts they did they left it running and actually improved the server to make it faster and catch more people. Then the judges started letting people go because they didn't agree with the legality of thier technique which was injecting malware in people's computers worldwide that visited the website, and also because the FBI refused to disclose exactly how it worked iirc (probably an NSA zero day they didnt want known public because it was patched). But yes I hate CP too, it gives governments a really good reason to say to the public "hey look! Things that anonymize people on the internet are letting pedos share CP with impunity, and encryption is helping them resist prosecution! We should ban both of those things! You don't have anything to hide right user? You're not a pedo are you?" Then the public gets the idea that Tor is only good for criminals and you must be shady or a pedo if you use it, which should be the case. It's perplexing how little the Snowden docs changed, and same with Facebook and Cambridge analytica. People cared for half a minute and then went back to zombie mode on facebook, Instagram and Twitter.

I seen a gif on /b/ yesterday of a ladyboy doing exactly that, so I guess its not entirely impossible.

yeah everything was made by fbi
you and me were made by fbi

The point wasn't that they wouldn't even download a dead simple app for at least the illusion of more privacy let alone use Tor or anything else.

at least the ladyboy wasn't a child

>browsing == posting
you have to go back

>muh fbi is all-powerful
>muh fbi is pathetic (at the same time)
tinfoil shitheads are the worst schizos out there
