Still rocking a GTX 460

>Still rocking a GTX 460
>was the best card for the price back then
>want to play a game for the first time in years
>video card doesn't meet specs, not even on ultra low settings

Tell me Jow Forums, what is the best bang-buck video card to play 2-3 yr old games on High (not ULTRA SUPER DUPER HIGH) settings?

also

>Phenom II X4 965 clocked @ 4.02ghz

should I upgrade that as well? has gaymen rendered that beautiful processor useless?

thanks

GTX 970?

/thread

Might still be refurb 970s on EVGAs site for $100

>Keep mobo
>Get FX6300
>Get Cryorig C7-H7 or whatever you have, I just like cryorig. Run my server with C7.
>clock to 4 GHz
>Get GTX970 or GTX1060 or a RX480 or RX570 whatever is cheapest
/thread

get a ryzen 2200g and play all your boomer games

Give me a budget and I'll tell you what to get.

>3.5GB

Same specs here, bump for interest

my 660TI can play Forza 7 and pubg perfectly fine, so Id imagine anything better than that would be good.

hey guys!!!

RX580

>RX580
High risks of bottleneck, n?

>GTX 460
>was the best card for the price back then
weird way of spelling HD 5870

The Phenom doesn't support SSE 4.2 or whatever, so you won't be able to run the new Assassin Creed games, Far Cry 5, Destiny 2 and RE7 had to patch it and so on.... Just keep that in mind.

I would upgrade to an used Ivy Bridge ala 3570/3770 for cheap, keep your RAM, and get an RX 580 8GB.

Depending on your game.

get a third gen i5 / i7 dell on ebay and slap a 750 Ti or 1050 Ti in there.

I'm still rocking a stock 3770k (now with a GTX 1080) and play everything on ultra.

Also, my Phenom x6 bottlenecks my GTX960, let alone anything stronger.

why is your voltage so high?

This, but get a mid tower so you don't have to get a gay half height card or some shit ass sff psu.

thanks

well surely OP has hands and can transplant the dell shit into his old box

Oh, dell calls them mini tower (MT) not mid tower

Dell mobos are proprietary and sometimes require different standoffs and WILL require power button adapters.

Either way OP should be able to deal with it.

Btw the optiplexes have gold and platinum efficiency PSUs in them, they are pretty good and plenty powerful for a pcie-powered gpus

What game? Because 460 is 1030/750Ti/Vega 8 tier, it can play shit on low

Literally worse than a 460

phenom ii has been useless in gaming for a while now, latest games that need SSE 4.1 or higher won't even boot on it.

>460 is 1030/750Ti/Vega 8
bruh he's talking about nvidia GTX 460
It should play stuff on low but not with his old-ass CPU holding it back.

So? His GPU performs about the same as those I mentioned (even better than some) and his CPU at this clock should be the same as a FX 8300, just with a lower multicore performance due being a quad core. It's ok for low end gaming, so I can't think of a game that can't run even on "ultra low settings".

Well for starters like said, games that require SSE 4.1 or higher will not boot at all on his CPU. Destiny 2, Halo Forge, and Monster Hunter World off the top of my head comes to mind.

the list of games that need SSE4.1 is tiny

retromags.com/blogs/entry/800-list-of-games-that-no-longer-run-on-amd-phenom/

yes its an old CPU, but just because it has no SSE4.1 doesn't mean its obsolete

Oh, I forgot that AMD didn't implement SSE4.1 until Bulldozer.

That list is outdated, the list has grown since then.

OP should just get a i5 2500k and RX 460, both are dirt cheap these days and can play modern titles at medium settings comfortably

>about the same
sure, buddy.
pic related, 750 Ti vs 460

>a bunch of numbers that show nothing
hi /v/

GTX 1060 3 GB or RX 570 8GB if price is the same

if you don't understand the implications of those numbers, let me spoonfeed your babby face with your favourite format - a *cool* youtube video with graphs in it!
youtube.com/watch?v=29EM6zJw6h4

>unlabeled numbers
the clocks dont mean shit if you dont know how many sp's or cuda cores tere are
if you really want to throw numbers around where's the bus width fuccboi- mem clock doesnt mean shit with a 2 bit bus

Spotted the /v/tard that can only understand youtube videos and bigger = better. I said about the same, it is about the same, but like 25% worse, and still performs better than a Vega 8 and 11. Not even mentioning the 2011 version with a GF114, that can get 1030 tier performance and get really near the 750Ti. Go back.

fucking retard

Fucking reddit refugees, I swear. What sort of metric are you using in your "about the same but 25% worse"? Are you a fucking retard?

If you can't guess at a glance what specs are being compared in that cropped image, you don't belong here.
If you are too dense to even understand a direct benchmark comparison using framerates (especially with given settings), you don't belong here.
If you are too fucking dumb to realize you're wrong, then maybe it's time to kill yourself.

Anyway, OP, you know what to do. I'm out of this trashcan of a thread.

(You)

>plebbit spacing
>getting that mad at being called out

go bakc

tell me which hash the hashrate is referencing, also what 33.8 and 26.58 mean just from that image
there is no way of knowing for sure what the numbers mean just from that
you are rarted

its spaced right faggot, just because theres a couple paragraphs doesnt mean hes gay

>one paragraph per phrase
>double spacing for no reason
>its spaced right
I think you should go with your friend.

Yes fuck this website bro!

Look at these virgins playing with Linux all day
They think they understand video games
They think they understand anything about graphic cards
They call people swear words for no reason

I'm out this toxic place too

not stable under that, maybe i'm doing something wrong in the bios.
I have this Asus Mobo
If you have any advice for me i'm listening

Attached: file.png (403x402, 13K)

nvm I just realized your clock speed is higher than mine
I haven't touched the bios in years so yeah....
what temps do you get on that voltage?

750Ti is 480 tier, miles ahead of 460.

>Phenom+460
Just build a whole new computer at that point. You'd need a new CPU and that means a new motherboard, probably new RAM, etc.

70 -75 on sisntetic benchmarks
and i have this cooler but with 2 fans

What the third frequency?
