Mint devs don't even know how to fucking configure SSL properly.

I wouldn't trust these retards and install a whole OS baked by them.

Elementary os

wasn't that manjaro?

Yes you are right.

But Mint distributed malware ridden ISOs on their website not long agon.

It's even worse than the Manjaro mistake really.

Well, since Mint is based on Ubuntu, which is in turn based on Debian, seems Mint is the most based.

If you can't do that yourself, then you don't need it.

apt does fuck things up though, and I like having software from the last 4 years.

>people still use other things when guixsd exists
I will never understand.

is there a distro that
>just werks
>has KDE preinstalled, preferably
>has apt
>no systemd
because I want

If you install Devuan with expert install you can choose KDE as your default desktop

Mint is for 12 year olds

I wish they'd hurry up with 15.0. It's not that I want it to be rushed out, but 14.2 is long as fuck in the tooth, and getting shit like newer mesa for new AMD cards results in this abomination of a frankenstein system that's unpleasant to maintain. I can't even consider using other distros because Slackware has conditioned me to be lazy as fuck and I enjoy doing so, and current has all the problems indicative of rolling release distributions even though it's not as pronounced.

Maintained by mostly a single person (its creator) who do what he wants when he wants. Case point:
>slackware had ALSA and no pulseaudio because Harry Pottering killed my father and raped my mother
>the maintainer was using BlueZ
>BlueZ drops ALSA for pulseaudio
>the maintainer adds pulseaudio to Slackware because he still wants BlueZ
>Slackare users get mad and change distro (being Pottering-free was one of the main reason to use it)
>abandonwere intensifies
>the maintainer made pulseaudio optional

Another case point is:
>2008 - slackware 12.2
>2009 - slackware 13.0
>2010 - slackware 13.1
>2011 - slackware 13.3
>2012 - slackware 14.0
>2013 - slackware 14.1
>three years of fucking nothing
>2016 - slacware 14.2

Abandonwere indeed. If it's important for you to have a systemd-free distro maybe you should consider it (and wait until the maintainer choose to add systemd too). If you don't give too much of a damn about systemd look somewhere else.

>number of debian packages ~50000
>number of guix packages ~8000
Also, distrowatch says it has GCC 4.7 when GCC 8.2 exists.

>Slackware has conditioned me to be lazy as fuck
isn't it actually the other way around with Slackware?

Attached: zyym_7yZqBI.jpg (539x405, 34K)

-current exists
ftp.osuosl.org/pub/slackware/slackware64-current/slackware64/

patches exists
ftp.osuosl.org/pub/slackware/slackware64-14.2/patches/packages/?C=M;O=D

Anything you miss in terms of packages in guix? Quantity doesn't mean shit. GCC 4.7 would be odd indeed though.

Debian it's the only answer

Slackware is for people who want to slack off.

FUCK GNU.

Attached: Jy8psTgk_400x400.jpg (400x400, 13K)

Don't know what you're looking at, I see GCC 8.2.0.
What's more, Guix makes it easy to package anything you find need yourself - And though you could conceivably do this with any package manager maybe, it's the entire point of Guix, it finally makes it practical and friendly, not just possible.

uses git instead of rsync
thats it

Sure, if the last time you used it over a decade ago.

I don't have it installed so I can't actually search and see how many packages it has and how much updated they are. I was basing my statement on what I found online.
How can I see if it has some of the packages that I want without actually installing the package manager.

gnu.org/software/guix/packages/

Install Gentoo.

I saw it, but hydra.gnu.org/jobset/gnu/master is down.

Slackware till the day Pat dies.
I still run 14.1 with a 3-series kernel because too lazy to upgrade and it just werks

kek kek i remember slackawares zealots shiting on pulseaudio, now they say 'hey it's not that bad.'
fuck, they are worse than archfags

Hello fren

Why does slackware have a sort of cult

Attached: Knoppix.gif (272x286, 16K)

Manjaro got hacked by an angry dev they fired. Shit was hilarious.

Based Pat has made Pulseaudio optional in -current.

Just arch for contrarians

couldn't be more wrong.
You are comparing a swiss pocketknife (unecessary bloat) with a simple machete (sharp, does it's thing and is rock solid)
