Yfw after all these years of needless annoyance...

yfw after all these years of needless annoyance, you finally accept the fact it's easier to just type exit rather than contorting your hand into the ctrl+d shape.

Half of my .bash_history is just exit

i aliased :q to exit on bash
:)

HISTIGNORE="&:cd:history*:[bf]g:exit"

sudo poweroff

>not mapping caps lock so it’s another control key
DO YOU SERIOUSLY EVER USE THE CAPS LOCK KEY ANYWAY?

I unironically use caps lock for git diff HEAD

>he doesn't use his palm to press CTRL
>he uses a non-ergonomic keyboard where CTRL is a small little key out of reach

I tried to switch to ctrl+d but I still type exit.

kill yourself

I have no idea how people can survive without either remapping Caps Lock to Ctrl or use a KB with Ctrl natively in that position (like HHKBs). Any time I have to use someone else's setup my hands cry when trying to use shortcuts

>he doesn't do cmd + w

Easy, you just use ESC and key combinations instead.

>not holding ctrl with your pinky finger and hitting d with your index finger

It takes like two nanoseconds to do it if you have a normal keyboard

I wish I could just ctrl-d my life

Let me guess, you type `clear` a lot too

>muh thetans

Alt + F4

ctrl-alt-f2 then ctrl-alt-del

I made this argument for years until I realized I use the control key more often.

I disabled ctrl-d because I kept accidently hitting it

The patrician map for caps lock is escape

Yea let's do something non standard so we fuck over our muscle memory.

"Exit" also works in that other OS that many games run on and that doesn't take ctrl-D, as well as many other CLIs, such as IOS. (not the Apple one, you retards)
