what the heck are u "INTO" that you're playing all these BIZARRE formats?

Game music obviously.
But it's not "just midi files". Mid is a standard that have predefined 128 instrument "names", and the thing playing the files have their own creepy uncanny valleish interpretation of those.
Gym/vgz on the other hand simulates the real hardware, to allow the music to use the hardware at register levels to freely create the instruments, as it was on the sega genesis itself.
On the picture, an example of VST plugin that simulates what you can do on a sega genesis audio hardware for ONE instrument.

so.. you'd run the mac version of LMMS in wine just to use windows-only VSTs?
do you mention that particular DAW cause it plays well with Wine?
would i run my current mac DAW in wine (Live) & then windows-only VSTs will work? . . .
