Let me guess...'murican AND Comcast? It's a known fact 'murica sucks major donkey balls internet-wise and it's ISP cartel is an utter shit, but still...12~15$ a month for such CRAP? Wow. I live in the GLORIOUS Mother Russia and I pay, like, 9$ for OP-pic. That's while also getting digital TV channels (20, minimum package. Can upgrade to 170+ if add 10$ to the monthly bill...but I don't even watch TV, so I'm not using even that default package which comes alongside my internet tariff) and IP phone line. 600 RUR, 9$. The only downsides are that my ISP is a fucking boomer and a monopolistic leech due to the fact I literally live in a forest area (there are no competition), and because of this I'm still sitting on a fucking IPv4 (no IPv6 service from my ISP). And that's not even considered a good deal around here (Moscow region), since inside Moscow itself and near MKAD/MRR, competition is SO HIGH that you can usually get uncapped 100Mbit/s both U and D a month for, like, ~150 RUR (2.5$) from some of the local ISPs.

What do you guys do with your high speed internet connections? Do you actually utilize all that bandwidth? I'm from a 3rd world shithole and I only got a 10mbps connection.

Where you're from? Tokyo? Such speeds are usually either in the Silicon Valley, in London, in the Seoul or Tokyo, or Singapore. Moscow has tariffs with speeds like that too (and even more), but it's usually way more expensive than getting 100D/100U across the region. Nowadays you can get ~100D/100U through almost the entirety of Russia pretty easily, even in the most shittiest backwards shithole villages (though for an extra price, obviously), but when it comes down to going fiber and any higher than 300 (any side), prices start to spike up massively. This is mainly because fiber started getting incorporated in our wiring systems only relatively recently and it's still a major novelty even for most developed regions. Going 100 both side is super-fucking-cheap in Moscow region these days, but getting something like 500/500 will cost, like, *5 times more, and it currently caps (best ISP/connection available) at somewhere around 2Gigabit/s, which would costs you around 60$ a month. This might seem very cheap for the retarded 'murica for it's super-crappy ISPs and interned, but for Russia 60$ is 4000RUR and paying that monthly just for the internet would require of you to be a middle-class citizen for you to not feel such monetary expenses at all.

I use about 1.5TB of data a month. Most of that data is porn. I use Hydrus Network to scrap gelbooru/e621 daily. Then I have Amazon Fire which streams 1080p/4k HD to my TV.

Probably 30% of it. I don't have enough HDD space to constantly utilize a fiber connection. It's great for multiple devices though.

The internet as a whole has gotten to be pretty fucking good here. Fibre (to the premises) has been rolled out over most of the major cities/towns in the country.
I remember 10 years or so ago when New Zealand had some of the worst internet connections you could imagine at the time.

Not really, you can get a gigabit in most bigger cities in Finland and I doubt it's all that different for scandinavia as a whole.

I do use it a bit when I download my shows for the day however that only takes about a minute. I never really utilize the bandwidth.

Kind of annoyed that I don't get my full speed on speed tests anywhere but my ISP's speed test site. When I use Verizon speed test, sure enough it's a little over 1gbps each direction, but on speedtest I never break 700mbps. Granted, I am running a seedbox and plex server on my network and gave friends access to my plex, so that's probably part of it.
