2nd holocaust in just 3 hours?

3 fucking hours!

Attached: WellShit.jpg (788x770, 321K)

YES! Finally something new after 4 years of Intel rebranding same shit over and over again.

Sweet, I'll know everything worth knowing when I wake up tomorrow.

Gee, I wonder why Intel stopped bothering at all?

Maybe because AMD was garbage until recently.

Your delusional if you think its gonna be much better than zen+, at best 15% higher IPC and 10% higher clock speed

>+15% IPC with +10% clocks
>not much better than zen+

WOW 20% FASTER OMG

>until AMD hypes me
No, they won't hype you and they won't give you anything to look forward to. This is strictly a enterprise event showcasing datacenter products. If you plan on buying EPYC servers then sure, prepare to be hyped.

AMD will probably mention something about their 7nm EPIC CPUs and probably those datacenter/workstation Vega20 cards too. There probably won't be a single mention of a consumer product you'll see in stores.

Attached: AMD-booth_babe_12.jpg (550x572, 70K)

compared to essentially zero improvement on 8th to 9th gen intel cpus except for sucking a lot more power and producing a lot more heat while costing a lot more that's a good improvement I'd say

>You're delusional if you think it's going to be much better than 26.5% faster in single threaded tasks
Are you unable to fully work out the implications of that large a step forward in single threaded performance for Zen2?

Exactly. 7nm, improvements everywhere and not a blazing hot monstrosity.

>hypes me into upgrading
I like amd, but you're a fool if you get hyped by their marketing. faildozer never again.

Other than Dropbox and Oracle which F500 company actually bought Epycs?

Epyc already had a core/thread/price advantage over Xeons yet Xeons still sell out to the point that Intel's 14nm++++++ stock has crashed due to demand.

It doesn't matter if AMD releases a 100-core/200 thread enterprise Epyc if no one is touching them with a ten foot pole.

AMD could literally do the bare minimum (5% IPC/clocks) and it would still btfo intel.

4.3GHz zen+ = 4.3Ghz coffin
4.5GHz zen 2 with 5% more ipc = 4.7GHz coffin

right?

The IMF, the world bank and the Bilderberg Corp

that sounds really good though?

t.intelfag

nothing to see here

That's batshit insanely amazing though. 4.7GHz zen 2 would match coffin at 5.2 GHz. I highly doubt it will be this good though, 10% higher IPC and 5% higher clocks at best imho, they already squeezed out almost all the lemon juice from zen+.

Azure instances too.
The other hyperscalers and cloud guys were playing wait and see. AMDs software maturity is what cost them slow adoption. It was pretty much shit at first. But then again it was their first server cpu in like 10 years they were a little rusty.

The 7nm advantage will be more undeniable. And acpi/bios/drivers/Ras are almost at Intel parity now.

Why are you sharing opinions about things you don't appear to understand in the slightest? Zen2 has changes from Zen+ that should increase IPC non-trivially, and maximum clock speed depends more on the process node than the arch. There is no reason to believe that TSMC's 7nm HP wouldn't be capable of more than 5% faster clocks than GloFo's 12nm.

Someone already leaked some info, 13% better IPC, but no detailed info on the type of workload.

We care most about memory bound workloads, if that's generic integer IPC improvement then memory and cache bound workloads (muh gayms) should close to double

>Your delusional
her delusional, but what are your?

after being conditioned by intel that 2 to 5% increase is good, 15% sounds mindblowing.

That is like 600% improvement.

maximum incel pajeet kike nigger cope right here lads

No idea, but it was a Rome sample from some unknown company.

What was the biggest jump from one CPU gen to the next?

tomorrow a new zero day will be released for every old ryzen cpu

Pentium 3 to Pentium 4 unironically

Before you were born

Pentium 4 -> Core 2 Duo

No. A Pentium 3 literally had higher IPC than a Pentium 4.

forwards not backwards

So Intel 8086 to 8088?

>leaked
fake news

I'd say K6-2/III to athlon. Up until the athlons release, AMD was lagging way behind the Pentium II and III. A bit like the jump from bulldozer to zen maybe.

Nobody said it had to be forwards.

Zen2 should absolutely demolish in muhgayms due to 4MB L3 per core, even before any latency improvements on the memory controller or core.

Usually I don't give a shit about processors and just ignore the Intel/AMD noise on Jow Forums, but I'm legitimately excited to see what AMD has next. They're moving so fast at the moment. I hope they fucking destroy Intel.

>Enterprise event
>Anons think they will releave ryzenplusplusmuhdick vega96gojirillion

Its an investor presentation, notice posted on their investor relations page. Investors will be asking about their consumer parts regardless of what the focus is, so AMD will talk about them.
Its primarily going to focus on Zen2, and EPYC2, and their upcoming 7nm Vega card. Still other details will be released.

Poo in loo

I'm gonna tell the sports bar that I have reserved a table at to show this instead of some dumb football match

It's an event for investors. Also, Vega 7nm and Zen 2 (7nm) are for enterprise.

AMD went with their server parts first this time, probably because the 7nm process is still too costly for consumer grade CPUs and GPUs. But they can announce the Ryzen RX 590 at the same time and give updates on the status of their consumer parts.

Ian Cutress, if you read this, can you should Lisa Su this image? I made it just for her

NEW:

anandtech.com/show/13546/intel-architecture-event-announced-december-11th

I wonder if they have enough fire extinguishers ready - to counter the new glued together chips and to put out the fires of their chips in case that the industry chillers burn out.

I just fell from my chair after reading that. xD

Don't ever post on this website again

>implying Intel will be destroyed

you're *
he said your not you're, don't quote his retarded ass wrong

closer to 30% than 20%.
so then 3700x will be:
7% faster than the 9900k
using ~ 50% the tdp
and ~66% of the price

This is just server stuff you dingus.

If they get 10% single core IPC they beat intlel.

fuck fuck fuck, does this mean that Intel has 10nm working and will actually release high-end mainstream chips in holiday this year like they promised? fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu

Same sources that leaked accurate info of Zen1

1 hour left!

>implying intel isn't shitting bricks and struggling to catch up to AMD
How's denial working out for you champ?

lmao, they already set a date for their damage control event. I can't wait to see more of these slides, they're fucking hilarious.

Attached: 1514237949321.jpg (1500x844, 358K)

AMD just moved Next Horizon from upcoming events to recent events on their IR page.
Its happening.

These events are not always about CPUs.

Optane was shown off in the previous events way before it was unveiled.

Since its on December 11 its probably be a mixed mash of stuff including GPUs.

>1 month later for damage control
Literally low IQ

Never post again

ME ME BIG DIE

on x86, i would say 486 to pentium, because it was just not a CPU jump.
It improved EVERYTHING, at a point that was literally impossible to do a fullscreen 60 fps anything on the 486 architecture, while the pentium could easily go way past that, even if you underclocked the pentium to 30 Mhz to match the 486.

Attached: 1541513702773.png (2000x1543, 71K)

There was a updated version of this slide recently. Anyone still have it?

Hijacking this thread,
I work for a multi billion dollar tech reseller, and I'm going to have a lunch panel with an Intel representative at 1:30 what should I ask them?

Am I too late, lads? Did I miss it?

obviously they have to make up something first, as they dont have anything to show after the housefire 9900k

Wut, AMD has been releasing better and better chips for the past two years.

Starts in 45 minutes

Thanks buddy

Things are going through final prep right now at the event center before the presentation starts.
It'll begin around noon EST.

Is it streamed or do i have to find a live blog?

Quick! My goys! Kvetch about something! Distract attention! 48 cores are le better option! Only IPC gaymuhrs are relevant!

unless intel slashes the price by half per unit,I dont see anyone buying them.

not only is that not bad but they also won't charge 350% more for it like intsmell does. the absolute state of intel fanboys.
