There is still going to be SOME added latency since you do have to go trough another chip to access the memory but the big thing with this what is basically a 14nm northbridge is that memory latency should be consistent across all cores and all memory locations

Do we know what they're going to do with desktop Ryzen? This sort of design makes a lot of sense when you've got multiple chiplets, but doesn't seem optimal (latency-wise at least) if the CPU only has a single chiplet in the first place.

Those tiny chips contain 8 cores each, I wonder if it's in a single CCX or if it's divided in two.
