Because smart phones have hit a fucking wall in regards to how much innovation they can squeeze out every nee phone. It used to be that the camera quality was top tits, but now every major flagship phone has great cameras for 99% of normies. Then it was figerprint tech. Now even budget sub $200 phones get that. Hell I spent the extra $40 for my Note 9 rather than the Note 8 simply because they got the battery management down and made 128GB internal storage the standard.

I'm hoping that phone companies realize his and start making headway into other stuff. Battery tech (,still using lithium ion based shit is disgraceful) more than anything. Proper wireless charging that doesn't take a million years. Front facing stereo speakers as a norm. DUAL USB-C PORTS. If they're going to try and phase out Aux, at least give us an alternative.
