Works on my machine™

>I want windows updates to only use 2% CPU so it takes several hours to install
that isn't the issue brainlet
I turned them off
That 30 minutes of unusable computer after a windows cold boot.
>70MB/s is 99%
That's what you get to still be using outdated technology.
>he hasnt got a SSD
>not using ltsb
ITS BEEN DOING IT FOR 1 HOUR FUCKING KILL ME
should i buy an ssd?
Flicker flicker
>Copying files in 2018 on a 4Ghz CPU uses 90% of the CPU
>should i buy an ssd?
if you want performance to be 5 times quicker, yes.
You should install GNU+Linux.
thats the microsoft botnet analyzing and processing your files as it copies them
1hr?! Unless your HDD is swiss cheese or your file system is a huge mess it shouldn't take that long.
Buys expensive SSD.
>So pleased by reduced i/o time on boot.
Windows update deletes all you're files.
>( •_•)
Best just install GNU/Linux.

>OS is installing updates
>what the fuck Microsoft stop using my disk
Its a laptop HDD but its maybe 2 months old i can easily sleep in an intel optane drive or SSD which is better?
Optane seems expensive
My current price for SSDs
£34.86 = 240GB Kingston SA400
£37,85 = 256GB Cruical MX500 (BX also available)
£67.34 = 480GB Kingston SA400
£78.50 = 500GB Cruical MX500 (BX also available)
£86.39 = 500GB Samsung MZ EVO 860
my pc is unusable you faggot
>my pc is unusable
You installed Windows 10, what were you expecting
Imagine your OS was so shit that you have to send 200 MB security updates to every single user every month.
ionice -c 3 heavy_lifting.sh
install windows 7
how did you make excel look like that
doesnt reaaly matterthat much
Windows 10 updates take a fucking hell of time even on a i5 with an SSD. Even a W7 fresh install is shorter-
That's called having an userbase.
Thats a lie i updated on my desktop in about 15mins this is taking 1hr.40min
The Arch and Gentoo GNU/Linux distributions do not have this problem.
best post
>CPU
holy fuck you're dumb
When your OS is a glorified .txt editor and theme customiser used by weebs with no money left after battlestation conversions, mechanical keyboards and waifu pillows so no one even bothers trying to hack into linux operating systems because its a waste of time so you don't need to update your OS because theres so little reward and literally no features or need to install it in the first place.
>clean install wangblows 7 sp2 on ssd
>fast as fuck
>feelsgood.msi
>search for updates
>256 important updates are available
>1544 megs
>installing takes 1/2h
>machine has to restart 3 times
>new system comes up as a total mess and slow as fuck all of a sudden
No thanks.
Let me guess: Jow Forums memed you out of buying an SSD.
Sounds komfy desu
Exactly, why would people try to get access to the operating system that runs the vast majority of internet infrastructure when they can try and get access to anons gaming/facebook/porn-watching rig instead.
WHY WHY DID I LISTEN TO Jow Forums FUCKING ASSHOLES FUCK YOUS!
Just bought an ssd right now.
Jow Forums literally just memed you into buying an ssd
cow2beef.exe optimisation needed here
Good. It's about time.
>LTSB
>updates take 2 minutes tops
It's your own fault for not using the least bad edition of M$ OS 10
How do I avoid this? I hate when it happens.
have you tried automatic updates that run at night like microsoft suggests?
>he runs windows 10 without an SSD
Updates take less than 10 secs if on an SSD
There is nothing wrong with SSDs
Its one of the better things you can give to a PC
You can give an SSD to a 10 year old core 2 quad desktop and it'll fly even on windows 10
The updater for ms office is even worse.
If you use your PC everyday its not noticeable
but on a dual core laptop that doesn't get used much it is a pain in the ass
>>he runs windows 10 without an SSD
>Updates take less than 10 secs if on an SSD
Thanks for the laugh, microshill.
What's the problem here?
>Its a laptop HDD
SSD.
Clone your HDD to an SSD and it will be like you have a new computer.
Well it's the truth
I've never had an issue with slow updates
Of course you won't believe anything I say because "hurr durr windows 10 sux one person has issue everyone has issue"
>he actually uses a HDD as a boot drive
>in 2017+1
