If Jesus is as He is described in the Bible (ie: fully human and fully divine within the same person) then he must have had a real, biological mother. If He is not as described, then He cannot have died for our sins on the cross. How can a divine being die on a cross? He could not be killed by such a crude and earthly punishment. His sacrifice would therefore not be meaningful, and we would have no way into God's kingdom through His grace and our faith in Jesus' sacrifice for us. For the substitution of Jesus for us, and to allow us to be cleansed of our sins, He must have died on the cross and been resurrected, otherwise it is meaningless, as no price has been paid. If He was fully divine (and had no earthly biological mother), and didn't die, then we still owe the debt of our sins.
