Linux can still only copy paste a single piece of text at a time

I guess Linus aint so smart after all.

Why would a kernel be a clipboard manager?

This joke stopped being funny when it was made.

Primary and Clipboard buffer

There's a clipboard for the mouse and another for the keyboard

Why are you criticising him, when OP started the 'joke'?

Your obvious shitpost of a thread was never funny to begin with.

so did these "loonix cannot do " threads yet you faggots still post them.

You mean, X11?

Looks like another feature systemd can handle.

because linux is responsible for providing these apps

A kernel isn't responsible for that

linux is not just a kernel, it's a community

No one says that NT or Darwin is a community

Imagine having such a huge hardon for you shitty man child vidya game OS that you spam the guro section of an anime image board.

There are a lot of clipboard managers available for the linux ecosystem.

>kernel is responsible for providing apps
>clipboard is an app
Are you actually braindead or what?

I'm pretty sure ~250,000 people consider NT and Darwin 'communities'

>make spreadsheet in excel
>copy it
>paste it in paint
this is why office will always be superior to libreoffice

you mad bro?
fact is that clipboarding is an OS level feature. It's very deep and has to be coded in C. Which is the job of linux

KDE has a clipboard in the notification area. By default it has 8 spaces, but of course being GNU/Linux everything is configurable.

You can even set it to save between sessions if you want.

>OS level feature

What does this even mean?

KDE Plasma doesn't have this problem.

KDE is written in an obsolete legacy language (C++). Please troll somebody else, you'd be stupid to use a legacy app.

KDE is literally perfection you silly winbaby

Gnome 3 is the new standard for all linux distros. Get in line or get rekt kid. No real developers use KDE

reddit

it's just the standard for IBM/RH who never supported KDE in the first place.

Gnome is an ugly tablet UI which is standard in SOME distorts because of Red Hat kikery.

No one used their GNU/Linux distro as it is installed. Removing Gnome is one the the first things a person should do.

Enjoy your 1GB idle time usage, it’s worth it for that shitty fucking DE i’m Sure.

Sadly it’s also the default for Debian. But it’s easy to install something better straight away.

vala is much better than C++ amirite

>winbabbies showing off features from 2006

So does Windows, that's Office handling the clipboard for you. Both operating systems have clipboard managers. Shit bait, 1/10

X11 has the tools to do this.
cat $SomeDocument.ext | xclip -selection clipboard

Linux has had this for years winfags are brainlets

Low quality bait

>linux has features years before windows does
>b-but it has to be in the kernel or its not as good!!!
fun fact: as all graphical components, the windows clipboard is implemented as a service, and services are not "the kernel"

there are a million clipboard managers on linux that can do the same thing (and much more) for ages

Windows scrollbars are implemented in the kernel, so it's understandable that he would think Linux does the same shit.

Faggot.

Your premise is false. The linux kernel has no clipboard and doesn't need one. But you didn't mean the linux kernel when you said "linux". What you really meant was a somewhat unclear set of software that is often used together with the linux kernel. You falsely imply that those software is maintained by the same people who maintain the linix kernel.
Besides that, some desktop environments that can run on linux had this feature for a long time. See
