too bad 945mbps is the limit of a 1gbps ethernet NIC.
Owen Thomas
I have fiber?
Nicholas Bell
And how is your fiber being fed into your computer?
Through a 1gbps NIC that is limited to 945mbps.
Jose Nelson
Hi there. I'm Australian. Send fucking help
Austin Mitchell
I have Cat5e ethernet cable, directly to the modem, which has 1gbit internet. I aint lying
Jeremiah Barnes
I know you're not lying, i'm telling you that it's testing error, you're not actually hitting 950mbps because the HARDWARE limit of your ethernet NIC is 945mbps.
I dont doubt your gigabit connection, I have the same thing.
Jonathan Garcia
Ah okay. Well iuts fucking weird because I reach 960 as well.
Also does newer motherboards have 10gbit ports now? Because Telekom offers 2gbit/s internet as well. Hell. Their Router only supports 1gbit/port.
Lucas Wood
Why the fuck does it auto to Kbps for me, yet every time I see other peoples' results, they're Mbps?
Anyways, I live in WA, so good on speedtest for defaulting to fucking SA
Aiden Martin
Some workstation motherboards, or high end gaming motherboards have 10gbps ethernet, yes.
Occasionally they'll have mutli-gigabit capable NICs as well which can do 1/2.5/5gbps, and some all the way to 10gbps.
And yeah, Comcast offers me 2gbps, but it would require me to buy a new router, a multigigabit capable switch, and 3 multigigabit NICs.
Total network upgrade would conservatively be around $1000. And doing it "right" closer to $1500-2000 out of pocket.
Noah Butler
you set that in the account settings, you have to specifically change it to that.
default is mbps.
Aaron Turner
pay $50 a month, no throttling, no caps.
Zachary Gomez
>fucking weird because I reach 960 as well.
Netflix claims I can upload at 1.2gbps+ despite the fact i'm on a 1gbps connection with Ethernet NICs.
Some speedtests just don't provide full accuracy.
Luis Hill
A locla company is delivering sweet, sweet fiber to my neighborhood next year, 500 up and down for 40 bucks a month.
Hunter Gomez
enough for my daily needs
Jonathan Thomas
2 gig comcast is like $300 a month for the service out here, what's it cost for you?
Nathan Hill
I've unironically never used speedtest settings before, which is what's confusing. I've done a few speedtests in the past, and they've all been kbps.
Fuck, I think my computer has been compromised, desu
Grayson Young
It was $149.99/month locked in for 2 years for a full year when it first came out around here. Now it's advertised at $299/month though.
Honestly, if you're willing to pay the $1000 install, they'd probably be willing to bring it down to $149.99/month if you really hassled them about it.
David Lopez
I live in hungary, I'm paying around $15 for the 1gbit, but theres a 2 gbit version for roughly 30 dollar
Robert Foster
Yeah, but like you said.
>I live in hungary
I live in one of the wealthiest suburbs of the US, there isn't a snowballs chance in hell that I would move to Hungary, even if they had 10gbps internet for $1.
Angel Wright
Living in Hungary sucks yeah, thankfully I'm living in a village which is basically a tourist heaven. I work hard but at least I get german level of payment
Dylan Thomas
Just wish my upload speed was higher, but oh well.
Ethan Perez
Question. How can you see the rating?
Leo Brooks
Put .PNG after your result link.
Liam Cooper
for example this one
Matthew Cruz
I'm set to betatest 10Gbps in less than two months.
can't wait.
Cooper Martin
Do you have 10gbit ethernet port?
Parker Rogers
Do they provide a 10gbps capable router at least or do you have to buy your own?
Noah Brooks
kek, you can't even watch YouTube with that.
Elijah Martinez
Not yet.
They provide it as it's a beta test at a small scall
Caleb Wood
I live in a location where there's no other option than Xfinity and they cuckold us with shitty packages for high prices. This is $45 a month. Just to get 100Mbps is $199 a month.
Hudson Ramirez
thats just sad im paying around $53 usd for gigabit up and down
Jacob Nelson
sadly comcast is very regional in their pricing and deals.
Around here they don't have a 1TB data cap like they do in other areas either.
Nicholas Williams
100 mbps up 100 down for 39.99 a month but after the 12 month promo 79.99. Usa the land of shitty internet
Michael Lewis
Who does that?
Verizon has 100/100 for $39.99, but after a year it goes to $54.99
Or you can get 300/300mbps for $69.99 locked in for 2 years, OR you can get 1gbps for $79.99 locked in for 3 years. Pic related
Kayden Ward
>100 mbps up 100 down for 39.99 a month but after the 12 month promo 79.99
Jesus, who the fuck makes the promo literally half of the normal price? Usually it's like $20 difference.
Elijah Miller
>OR you can get 1gbps for $79.99
I hope that includes TV or you're getting absolutely raped
Lincoln Collins
In the US? My options are $80/month for gigabit fiber.
Or $90/month for gigabit DOCSIS that has only 35mbps upload. And the $90/month goes up to $105/month after 12 months, where as the 1gbps fiber at $80/month is locked in for 3 years at that price.
I COULD bundle TV, but I don't watch TV, so no point.
