The urban exploring videos yon YT can be fucking rage inducing if you're slightly autistic

>zoomers find abandoned PC
>building still has power
>zoomers turn on PC
>WHOA WHOA MAN LOOK WHOA IT'S STILL RUNNING MAN WHOA
>PC rattles like fuck its way to the POST screen and beeps with CMOS data mismatch message
>"whoa dude dats awesome, CHEK HIS BROWSER HISTORY!!!!!!"
>*aimlessly taps some keys*
>still on POST screen, zoomer ignores what is actually on screen
>zoomers wander off the place, letting the PC with its loud and failing fan rattling on

those are the ones who find computer piles and graffiti "COMPUTER AS FUCK" on the wall

will love this one then

Good thread OP
Moar

Please continue posting.

Because, looking at these photos, computers are like living creatures. And these have died.

It's like when you see a cadaver of someone in their young age, you think they had so much potential.

>finds old Model M
>taps on it
>turns around to next keyboard while stepping with his foot on the M

fuck, wright in a benis

Apparently he really hates mechanical keyboards.

that tower case looks fucking great. would even let the rust stay on.

Never forget the spoopy computer shop that has been closed for over 2 decades with all its computers still behind the windows.

Is this japan?

>floppies in 2006

these are

You probably never heard a lot about Japan, especially rural Japan

>accountants office
>leaving the place but letting all data behind

How thoughtful and caring!

My kingdom for one of those keyboards

>he doesn't raid and steal those things with a few organized buddy
This is why you nerds will always be pathetic in society

t. nigger

It makes me sad because I'm reminded how rapidly technology becomes obsolete. A lot of that is likely planned and down to shitty optimization of software.

>how rapidly technology becomes obsolete.
That was WAY worse from the 80s to 2000.
If you put together a really damn good PC in 2010 chances are it will still run most 2020 games.
Try running 2000 shit on a 1990 computer.

It wasn't untouched, someone came before them and turned it on. The place is full of graffiti, even the CRT has some graffiti on it.

we have a xerox home in the room

inb4 faggots fuck it all up and "abandoned PC" aesthetics become hip

are white plastic cases the biggest scam in the history of personal computers?

Well you can choose. Either have some yellow case in a couple years (when you're supposed to have thrown the thing into the trash literally years ago anyways) or the thing catching fire easily and burning like gasoline.
They went with the yellowing.

Holy shit,
the noise that thing makes when they switched it on

Sad thread.

I'm crying.

>CPU fan bearing fucked
>CRT power supply having arcing voltage somewhere

My guess

>those spotless HP 2600 terminals implying accompanying 1000/3000 systems elsewhere in the plant
>all retards respond with is "hurf durf that shitty incompatible old keyboard sure would look comfy with my gaming setup!!"
I fucking hate /mkg/ hipsters.

The computer itself is fine, you can hear the POST beep, the CRT is just full of dust and shit and that's why it's arcing and fucked.

These pictures frustrates me because these computers are just sitting there, unused, and yet i cannot take them

I know that feel too well.

I'd tell you to not be a nigger, but that NEC server in the OP pic looks like a fucking work of art and deserves better. I guess I feel the same.

diff poster here.
I get frustrated that the data is going to be loss, with low likelihood of recovery.
It's like the library of alexandria burning, or ppl's belongings getting lost in wildfires, a tsunami or post- hurricane flooding.

Attached: bags_1870840i.jpg (620x436, 105K)

Aren't there black people in that town?

Even more annoying is the thought that if whoever owns them decides to remove them they'll probably be scrapped for materials.

Those were all computers of the sort before they became userfriendly

Attached: 1516903488322.jpg (444x180, 58K)

Since data gets rarely saved on media that holds up well over decades it will be much more easier for whoever wants to (re) write history some time in the future.

I can't say I'd really lose sleep over the stuff ITT in that way since most of it is pretty run of the mill DOS shit, though I think you'd be right with a lot of the old industrial sites and I can't imagine the Japanese shit is too well-off either.

that shit is just sad. fucking zoomers

reminder we are the computers

KEHLEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Attached: K'Ehleyr.jpg (1438x1080, 166K)

>imagine being a pristine condition Model M
>literally left for death in a moist and pitch black cellar for literal decades
>some urbex faggots come by
>you think you get rescued
>instead of being rescued and finally appreciated by people who like you, especially since mechanical keyboards have a huge comeback you get called "shitty and old" and that you "feel bad" while getting stomped on
>the lights of their flashlights leave the room again
>it's getting dark and quiet again

Holy fuck.

Attached: 14156976589.jpg (218x222, 27K)

>pristine model M
>moist cellar
SCENARIO RUINED!

bet he has the brightest RGB razer keyboard available at home

mostly true but the keyboard I use was in a garage for years and only the inner caging was rusty as fuck, everything else was fine. no corrosion on the board.

Attached: 20180915_144127.jpg (3264x1836, 1.59M)

Would make sense, but at that point I would probably write the thing off as fucked.

nice Australian pc

>the guy on the side

Attached: hhh.gif (356x200, 2.06M)

>waaah this machine produced in the millions is worth more than that machine produced in the millions

>weeping over what was practically the generic Dell USB keyboard of the late '80s
Mechanical keytards never change, do they?

Attached: joy1.png (512x456, 374K)

where's this from?

The shit in the OP pic is a pretty neat looking Japanese market exclusive with a unique architecture I can't imagine sold in massive numbers, the old plants ITT running on minicomputers that sold in the hundreds to low thousands over their entire market lifetime sure as fuck aren't as common as some shitty DOS box either.

Found some info about the OP server

museum.ipsj.or.jp/en/computer/office/0082.html

should hunt those people down and step on them desu

Oh yeah, I found that page too. It seems like a pretty interesting system. The one in the picture looked like it had a shitload of documentation/software under the desk for it too.

>Oh yeah, I found that page too.
It's ridiculous how little info there is about older Japanese computer stuff.

On a second thought it might just not be crawled by the usual search engines.

I think you're right about that, really sucks too. If your only impression of the Japanese domestic computing market was from shit that gets posted here and elsewhere on the western internet you'd think it was the same as the western market just with prettier cases, but the amount of unique in-house designs that never made it out of Japan seems pretty staggering.

How does this happen? How does a place even become abandoned? Especially full of expensive hardware. Also still with electricity?

That monitor looks like something that would give you cancer, I love it.

They are the dumbest generation.
We know this

well it's just lacking the outer plastic casing. the tube front side is just as exposed with the case on.
but you're right, if you touched that exposed thing on certain parts you'd get fucked up majorly.

Wondering the same thing

I threw away my grandma's piii box just last week. I should have taken a picture of the dust bunny capital of the universe when I was there.

Many reasons.
Often times a company just goes broke and due to some insolvency rules stuff they often don't get to sell inventory or it simply doesn't matter in relation to the other costs so shit just sits there and starts to rot while technically still in possession of some party and often even still with electricity running. Often those abandoned places even have guards to prevent vandalism.

It's sad that so much stuff just rots away that could make tons of hobbyists happy but yeah, technically those things are still "owned" by someone.

letting a good thread die?

why is she whispering?

Because there's always the possibility that someone shows up and it's advantageous to hear that person first before they hear you.

that computer wouldn't boot because the keyboard was plugged out. none of that generation did.
