General Rust thread.

Just use C++, it's here to stay.

also inb4 somebody calls me out for putting title in Name field, I'm tired as fuck.

Come to the Ada team sempai

Is it any good? How do the compile times compare?

Fuck that, I just looked at the syntax and my eyes are burning.

Is your name really ``Rust thread''?

It was until some user pointed out I left it there.

hi Rust thread, i'm dad

>Anonymous
yeah, whatever you say

First look at a pascal derived language?
Compile times are ok, never paid attention to it.
Syntax is fine though, is really readable and it's nice to type most ot it without brakets or other symbols, it comprnsates for the verbosity. Its also easier to read.

objects were a mistake. just stick to C until functional languages become mainstream.
Rust takes long because it's basically trying to be C++ without all the fuckups and data insecurity, which requires a shitton of safety nets.

Tell me more. I assume it's not GC'd. How do object lifetimes and shit work?

holy shit its Rust Thread, creator of rust

There's 8 of us.

Likr any other nonGC language, objects are deleted when out of scope,. Heap is manually allocated.
Any other question?

this, I cannot stand Pascal syntax, absolutely disgusting to me
