Gonna be a nightmare even on search engines alone. People had a time finding shits for the Surface 3 because all search results are for Surface Pro 3 yet they pull even dumber shit and call the Pro 5 just Surface Pro
Benjamin Howard
No Yanderedev one? That was funny on its own.
Zachary Adams
I got you user
Jaxon Ross
>/etc/init.d/openbox
openbox is not available as a service, but as a standalone program
and if it were a service, you wouldn't use init.d, but systemctl to start it
>if you just used a precompiled binary
that's gentoo you're thinking of - you don't compile shit in arch
especially openbox - it's in the repos as in any other distro
>x is broken because pacman fucked everything
pacman doesn't break stuff at all
and unlike apt I can actually get rid of gnome in just one command, whereas with ubuntu I have to spend weeks hunting down every last gnome package because the repos are shit
>I kinda failed java twice
And the author of this comic kinda assumed shit he couldn't possibly know so he can feel better about himself
>character failed tests because he wanted to see the source of the monitoring software
arch is not endorsed by rms specifically because it uses proprietary firmware
proprietary firmware is n o t open-source
again, those are just traits the author made up to feel better about himself
>more stuff the author made up to feel better about not being an arch user
keep being mad
there is no reason for you to post these unless you want attention specifically for not using arch. and if that's the case you are being the "archfag who keeps bragging about arch"
>he doesn't understand im better than him for taking three weeks to...

I am always amazed when idiots call their films, businesses or other products names that don't search well on Google. Are they trying to fail immediately?

Did that really happen?
Eli Johnson
Yes. github.com
It's from 2011 in a repo called "bumblebee old and abandoned" for a project to support a special optimizing program nvidia made to allow for longer battery on laptops with nvidia cards. Not really "state of linux software" but still a terrible commit

Unfortunately, this is the only one like this I had. I remember the thread where the user posted this. I think the rest of it was just funny answers to interview questions or something. Maybe somebody still has it. Otherwise I just have a bunch of these types.

I can't seem to find it but there was another popular project where the devs merged a commit that stole people's passwords and only changed it after someone pointed it out to them.

If you read the closing paragraph it sounds like the author was embarrassed about their lack of practical skills and is making fun of themselves for it.

The very next paragraph:
>After letting this self-doubt dissipate, a new emotion settled in: anger. FizzBuzz is a way to filter out fake programmers. I am fully aware that I am not a programmer, at least "programmer" in the sense of algorithms, data modeling, etc.
Daniel Jones
No dude
Wtf is going on
How is this 4000 lines
Hunter Watson
as a joke i've written programs that output a program which enumerates every possible outcome of a simpler program. if this really exists somewhere i imagine it was written like that.
Isaiah Stewart
Because Loonix GUIs are perfect
Connor Sanchez
What makes it even funnier is that it is public. So some gaint ass method that is 4000 lines of code is going to be blowing up the global API names pace. There is no way that doesn't have some impact on either the compile time or runtime performance. Better yet, it doesn't accept any parameters or return anything, so that means it is using class wide fields. If the 4000 LOC is any indication, there are probably a shit ton of fields in the class.
Brody Brown
This made my stomach upset.
