Why do we never talk about opensuse?

why do we never talk about opensuse?

Because most linux are plain better than it

because that isn't arch
btw i use arch linux

>dude that distro you use that just werks sucks, why arent you using [my obscure/try hard distro]
good post

I don't know why you should use OpenSUSE instead of Fedora or Ubuntu.
It's a good distro, don't get me wrong, but it doesn't really offers anything special. If it does, I don't know what it is.

Tried it recently, and it was worse than Manjaro and Ubuntu. No wonder nobody uses it.

It bothers me quite a bit that they use capital letters for package naming.

How the fuck should I know that firefox is called MozillaFirefox, without using yast?

What about Gecko linux? Should I give it try?

>without using yast?
why you don't wanna use it?

mngr=

$mngr search firefox

Thumbnails in the file picker.

>not cucked and for faggots like ubuntu
>doesn't have a faggy name and logo like fedora
>literally just works
thats why people use it

yast is a fucking bitch to use

Ironic, because one of the things I couldn't find there was that package for Waterfox.

< This
It also has a ncurses version and makes remote management a breeze.

why not just pay the $50 or whatever for the actual supported desktop release?

There's nothing to bitch about it, it is a really good system.

it's a low drama choice like fedora or slackware

>installer crashes on laptop
>missing packages
>btrfs hogging IO as badly as Windows 10 updates
Yeah, no.

It has btrfs as the default root file system, snapper integration in the file manager for easy rollbacks from bad updates and is an automatically tested rolling release distro. It also is one of the few distros to have a perfectly working KDE Plasma (good luck with that on Fedora) and thumbnails in the file picker. But apart from that, what have the Romans ever done for us?
>being this retarded
If installing a Linux distribution gives you problems, maybe the problem is with you.

>fedora is bad because of the name and the logo
>ubuntu is bad because "cucked and faggots"
meanwhile, Trap Jay Leno's OpenSUSE is totally not for faggots and it has a cute logo.

>Ubuntu/Debian, Manjaro installs without error
>Tumbleweed/Leap crashes after selecting DE
Right.

FEDORA IS THE BEST DISTRO
GOD BLESS RED HAT

Upgrade your laptop, grandpa

You just have to be an expert to install it.
2015

My TV server is running on OpenSUSE.

>if installing a linux distribution gives you problems, maybe the problem is with you
this
as I always say to these fags: leave sophisticated software to sophisticated people.

>unironically using kde plasma
yeah... that guy literally asked for it

My whole infrastructure run openSUSE....
just werk

it's okay. used it for year and half i think. then btrfs irrepairably shat the bed, i jumped the wagon to Antergos and never looked back.

in retrospect, openPEPE uses many weird defaults and features tools probably catered towards admins in a corporate sphere. i wonder how is Gecko.

Abandoned Fedora as I abandoned GNOME. Went for openSUSE as I went for KDE.

You don't just choose a distro, you also pick the DE it focuses on. Which is why
is full retard.

KDE is great on openSUSE. Good choice

Today I tried to install tumbleweed and it didn't make an fstab. So it wouldn't boot. To be fair, I did custom partitioning and it's possible I missed something, but that's never happened before
>breeze
lol

DUDE WEED LMAO

oh look, it's another one of these threads.
We don't talk aboout opensuse because it's an unusable mess, stop asking.

i prefer kubuntu

>other distro than ubuntu lts or fedora
why even bother

Every single day we have the same opensuse thread that boils down to "it's good I guess".

because the basic install has more than 2000 packages and its package manager is known to be a pain. other than that, its fine i guess.

>more than 2000
the horror

I prefer KDE + Manjaro

cringe

It's the worse of the 2 big RPM based desktop distros

Attached: suse-pepe.png (512x328, 62K)

explain for beginner pls

Doesn't even include chromium or mplayer in its repo. Get the fuck out of here with that amateur shit.

Gentoo is easier to understand than openPEPE.
It's weird af.

It tries to install all the bloat i uninstalled every update.

If you disable that "feature" it breaks dependencies

Zypper > dnf/yum

Tumbleweed is awful if you are short on disk space since it will regularly download 1gb+ of updates while storing snapshots in btrfs. So it’s like a game trying to keep disk space free.
