Is it even possible to solder this?
It was a Mini-Usb and in trying to put in a Micro-USB, do I need a tiny solder?
Is it even possible to solder this?

Why are you downgrading
if the contacts line up, i guess. use a hot air reflow station and some flux. considering how much you fucked up that board though (plus the fact you're asking here to begin with) i doubt you a) have the tools b) have the money and c) will bother to do it at all
Can you post a pic after you clean that corner with either 100% acetone or 91% isopropyl? Also do the pins have the same footprint?
Also, if make sure you use flux to ensure good thermal transfer from the iron.
Well, it works...
I can't see well from the pic, did you solder it backwards?
>is it even possible to solder this
Yeah just suck out all the current solder with resined wick, then clean the crap off with flux. Then you can solder.
just make it stop...
I works 1 time out of 10...
Better get a Mini-usb, so I can just solder the "BRACKETS", I can't close the lid, and the pins are loose since they are too small.
It's a MIDI KEYBOARD BTW...
Don't delay
Send it to Louis Rossmann today
Yes, you can, but considering amount of brown rosin flux around solder I think you can't. Buy some USB breakouts from aliebay, and some wires, solder directly to pads.
OP is useless.
You can't possibly be this fucking dumb.
Oh... Really, get yourself this piece of shit and solder wires to it, and wires to your moms dildo or whatever you repair.
this
mini usb is way better than micro usb
I didn't thought of that! I'll solder wires directly!
Why did you do that?
you could have just placed the connector on top of the pads, touched the data wires with the iron and then solder the support pads.
now it's mostly ruined. you have to take it off and try again with a new one
also get some flux and wick. flux for not bridging pins an wick for removing excess solder
also checkem
fuck nigga what are you doing
They didn't touch, the connector was to small...
The pins didn't connect were to small
dear god just leave the poor thing be
I want to beat OP to death.
micro usb is garbage
>user meets SMD
*snap*
Is this worth a screenshot already?
LMAO just saw it
Why couldn't you of just gotten a mini USB plug instead of trying to fit a plug which quite obviously doesn't fit without having to destroy the board, holy christ
Can't bother to wait!
Why do you come to a forum and ask for advice on how to do something right, then proceed to ignore what people tell you and do things your own retarded way?
You could have done yourself a favor and practiced for, like, a few minutes before you went ahead and did that.
I did it. You will need at least a chink USB "microscope" from amazon, and the tiniest solder iron tip you can get.
Problem: you will most probably short the 5 small leads from the back between them. Bad bad thing, specially if you short Vcc and GND. Don't even try to connect it unless you are sure there are no shorts.
Pro tip: No-clean flux is actually must-clean flux, as it conduces electricity.
Pro-tip 2: Watch Ifix youtube channel to learn how to do it properly.
