NEW BROWSER (NOT FIREFOX)

What is your opinion on Vivaldi Browser.
Is it good? Is it just waste of time?
IS IT SPY ON ME??

Botnet

>A browser for our friends
Chinese botnet

there are 14 botnets in this picture

>Is it good?
It's no Opera 12 but it's getting there.
>Is it just waste of time?
It's pretty usable at this point, I use it as my main browser.
>IS IT SPY ON ME??
Well, it does run on chromium, so probably.

lol, penis

>chromium based browser
botnet

Yes. I saw this.
Thank you. But is't chromium Open Source?

BLOAT: the browser

Wow. I like it.

Attached: srp.jpg (600x592, 42K)

Open source doesn't mean not spyware. Android is open source too.

>But is't chromium Open Source?
It is, Vivaldi isn't. Chromium still sends your keystrokes to google unless you disable "search as you type in the options". That's literally the only spywareish thing in chromium, but it is pretty bad.

Android is not fully open source. Final word always comes to google. Google chrome based on chromium too, but no one is talking that chrome is not a malware.

I too decided to ditch Firefox after seeing this thread
Sticking to Brave now even though it seriously lacks in features. Vivaldi just seems like a bloated mess desu.

>To sum it up: Vivaldi Technologies does not collect a lot of data and the data that it collects is used to improve the browser or get general statistics about the browser's userbase. The company reveals the data that it collects and what it uses the data for in the second paragraph of the privacy policy.
Well, that's nice.

>Sticking to Brave now
How much do they pay you to shill that shit, pajeet? You're literally astroturfing your garbage browser in here every fucking day. Do the world a favor and fuck off.

Even without Google both android and chromium have telemetry and constantly connect to Google servers.

Thanks to you I will stick with mozilla.

I like it. feature-laden but everything is actually useful and very customizable.

Hopefully you followed some privacy guide. Their rating of default FF is worse than Vivaldi
spyware.neocities.org/articles/firefox.html
spyware.neocities.org/guides/firefox.html

Are you retarded? Why would I shill for Brave.
I can honestly think of no other browser that maximizes reliability while minimising botnet.
Chrome? FF? Vivaldi? Opera? Don't make me laugh!!!

He's not a pajeet, just a Jow Forumsack sucking (((Eich)))'s dick

Testing it right now, seems cool so far, native tree style tabs and screenshots is always welcome

Been on it for a few weeks. I love the status bar and the UI customizability. Shame how they force tabs on top, but I got used to it quickly anyway (I switched from Pale Moon.)
At the end of the day, it's Chrome with a nicer UI. I can see myself sticking to this for years.

>IS IT SPY ON ME??
I dunno, I've stopped caring.

Only when you type in the url bar, so whatever.

Also, Vivaldi is open source, just isn't foss.

meme botnet
chromium reskin

Actually, it's not a reskin since they run their entire UI inside a frameless chromium. So you're not putting a new "skin" just rendering all the time a page.
Which is funny since it's a very stupid decision but runs better / stable than Brave.

>Also, Vivaldi is open source
It isn't, they open source some of their additions but the browser itself is closed source.

Everything is open source because licensing, are you dumb?
The only thing that is proprietary is their interface, which is written in html/css/js, so plain text.

>but the browser itself is closed source.
The browser itself is open source with proprietary code.
vivaldi.com/source/

I was going to make a similar thread.

The latest update made Vivaldi really fucking fast. CPU usage is really low too.
I've been using it for a while just to browse Jow Forums and porn, but the latest update seems to have made it legitimately good.

Anyway, hard to believe that anything "free" isn't a botnet. They make money selling your data and that's how they make it free.

Isn't that the browser literally powered by nodejs? Or was that brave?

>Shame how they force tabs on top
I'd just like to interject for a moment... You can put the tab bar everywhere in Vivaldi
t. has his tab bar on the left side

Vivaldi is a chinese spybrowser

It's both of them, ignore the subhuman shills.

does anyone remember an old internet browsing method that was proposed either in the 90's or early 2000's that looked like a 3d concept map which visualized the hyperlinks in a strange three dimensional constellation-like browser? I recall reading about it a long time ago in an article about proposed web browsers that failed for various reasons.

Attached: 1517808534142.jpg (1210x951, 246K)

>Only when you interact with the primary means of using the application

Yeah, nothing too important, should be fine

Functionally pretty good, but very closed off, and they shill botnets pretty hard.
Probably okay, but g will sperg out about it forever, and if/when something ever comes out about it it will probably never recover.

yes I remember, but I forgot what it was called. Honestly, I prefer how it is now, its simpler.

I'm not converting browsers. I'm only trying to remember the name of that thing. I was looking at mindmapping software and I remembered that browser but I couldn't recall the name, and now it's bothering me.

1998+30 and they STILL haven't fixed pinned tabs.

yeah, if you pin tabs and close the browser, the only way they'll come back is if you restore your session.

I'm not touching that shit with a fucking hazmat suit and a hundred foot pole.

i use vivaldi at my job i need a shit tone of tabs opened, since i switched to it my work is been improving since i can just use mozilla to test my pages.

wished i had extra ram, because at 4GB it runs like ass on my personal laptop. I use iridium there, literally just works, and much better than firecuck.

overall chromium has only but done browsing fun again. Love it to dead.

t. been using firefox since netscape and finally did the switch last week.

Attached: 450466.jpg (1280x720, 154K)

>1998+30

fuck you man dont scare me like that

there's some good ideas but overall it runs like shit
like the webpanels and the tiles are nice but they consumes more resources than opening two windows side to side

Anyone recommend light weight browser?
Don't need flash video playback.

i don't think any browser these days even ships with flash by default.
But you could compile ice-cat yourself with all the optimizations.

It's just another chrome GUI

Big fucking deal

It's really hard to change browsers.

Attached: 2018-11-14 23_08_53.jpg (400x304, 74K)

>Is it good? Is it just waste of time?
it's experimental. A gorillion features but you'll prolly just use a few. I like it.
IS IT SPY ON ME??
it's closed source so we don't know.

based vivaldibro

Attached: o.png (1600x900, 586K)

I like it. I use it on my second monitor and might use it as my main browser in the future.

i like it and use it often enough but it's not my main browser
it is good and customizable. i like the interface. it makes me miss old opera.
it is also a waste of time, yes. it still doesnt have some pretty ought-to-be-standard rudimentary functionality, and some things don't work on it, but it's pretty good for about 95% of my daily driving when I decide to use it, but I'm still preferring waterfox more.
yes it spies on you but not as bad as chrome does. but it does do that, if you care about it. if you're on windows you shouldnt be concerned about browser privacy because you have bigger fish to fry.

I like the customization, but if you have way too many tabs open, the tab aspect starts to lag a bit.

>Shame how they force tabs on top
no, they can be on the left or bottom
i use them on the left myself

>yeah, if you pin tabs and close the browser, the only way they'll come back is if you restore your session.
This is incorrect.

what are your startup options?

if it's anything other than "last session" then they've fixed the problem

It's last session.

That's the same thing as restoring your last session, what the fuck is wrong with you?

That is literally the only browser in the market that has that behavior for pinned tabs; you can only keep your pinned tabs upon relaunch when restoring last session

I mean you cant put it under your address bar, like in old firefox

Finally someone with a brain.

See:

NEW BROWSER (NOT FIREFOX)
it's not really a browser, just a chromium skin.
it's not new, because four years is plenty of time for a browser skin to catch up (if it's good, which vivaldi isn't)
it's a closed source botnet unlike chromium

verdict: gay and bluepilled

Why do my desktop icons reload themselves whenever I start Vivaldi? Doesn't happen with other browsers.

Attached: jewblocker2.png (759x569, 236K)

installed it yesterday on my reformatted ancient laptop. working fine though i guess it downloads extra unnecessary things from the webpages too

The idea was okay, but the browser feels way too clunky in day to day use.
Split view or integrated screenshots are nice to have but in the end you could just put two windows next to one another or use the OS' screenshot functionality.
Stacked tabs are fun though it's a pain to use

Just use qutebrowser lmao

>it's not really a browser, just a chromium skin.
It isn't a skin, it's a different browser using chromium's rendering engine. The interface is completely different and has many features Chromium lacks. The new chink Opera, Brave or that Comodo thing are just browser reskins.

>lmao just chinese botnet XD
Nice try, Pang.

>the browser feels way too clunky in day to day use.
It doesn't, really. I think you've never used it, or used it years ago and are trying to come up with the most generic complaints. Why you'd need to comment on a browser you don't use is anyone's guess. Probably to convince idiots.

>lmao just chinese botnet XD
>Nice try, Pang.
What the fuck are you talking about?
github.com/qutebrowser/qutebrowser

Never heard of it, botnet.

using it on linux mint , best functioning browser.
minimal style , fast , you can change a shit lot of things in the settings.

can't sign into google account and sync my shit so i'll pass

Really nice.
Share your Jow Forums theme.

Photons+Odin in appchan

been using it since release

The devs claim its source is available but Wikipedia says otherwise. Therefore, it’s a botnet. Just use Firefox or IceCat
