It’s a cheap laptop for work. Fanless, 8hr battery life, just encrypt the HDD and I don’t really care if a $160 laptop gets stolen. It came with windows 10 and was unusable, but it flies with Linux.

KDE Neon is the peak OS right now.
Anytime I touch any other distro, I cringe because Neon spoiled me so badly.

Discord Canary (can be sometimes unstable but overall I find it more stable than normal Discord or PTB because it uses newer electron versions and also gets newer features first, and the green vscode is the insider preview version.

I mean I still like it compared to the older look of Windows, and I don't like dark themes. Light themes all the way for me

I paid $1300 for it. Display is great, trackpad is goat, keyboard is nice to use, speakers are actually really good for a laptop, Touch Bar is pretty handy actually, the build quality is pretty top, and it has macOS and it's also fast. I just do development work on it, school, and web browsing and watching shows/movies/youtube. I save Linux for my Thinkpad (switched from Gentoo to Arch last night) and I save the more resource intensive stuff and gaming on my Windows 10 Pro desktop. Stop being jealous poorfag.

Also the battery life is pretty great as well. Definitely worth the price. One of the best computer related purchases I've ever made. Plus I got an iPhone 8 Plus a few months after I got this and I gotta say, It's pretty great.

This looks beautiful but it is non-free proprietary software. It enables you to control your computer only to the extent the developers are permitting you to.

GNU/Linux systems can be made to look somewhat beautiful, but this isn't the objective. The objective is to enable you to use your computer in freedom. A slick look is only a bonus.

The main difference is that macOS blurs the content when it's not in view so that the focus is on the content (if there is content). Every other GUI just blurs everything behind the window, so that you get distracted by colors and animating blurs.

You need kvantum, latte dock (comes with the top menu), and wherever he got that theme, kwin window corner theme would be translucent plasma5, and you'd have to tweak the rest of your shit manually. It's not too difficult, I've done it, but I didn't like it. Went back to a more stock KDE and I felt at home.
