Upscaling doesn't mean anything I mean here's my crappy font on 4K.
That makes shit so blurry

you can't possibly be serious posting that fuzzy shit lmao

Can you make it more blurry?

>using font smoothing
cringe and bluepilled

I don't have a problem.

somebody please redpill me on proper font rendering. I don't have a clue how it should look like.

that's just what linux users are used to, they love their fonts to look just as round as they are

Shouldn't look like windows

You're proving nothing. Everything looks amazing when it's rendered with enough pixels.
You either need an high dpi monitor or a good font rendering. Let's see how good it looks when you zoom out 60%

why do you autists care about font rendering so much
I can't tell the difference in any of these screenshots

winfags will never have this font rendering

I didn't know you can connect to internet on an old amiga

Whats the fonts you guys are using?

The only way to get pretty good font rendering for 1080p and lower is to use linux and tweak font settings. macOS needs a fix that doesn't exactly make it look amazing, just improves the mess that mojave has by default. Windows... well, it has been the fucking same since what, Vista? It's both ass and sharp. I've gotten used to it but you won't catch me saying Windows font rendering is good. It's tiring to look at. On high resolution displays things change, though. Scaling is some shit.

Agreed, that does look neat. But that's a low ass resolution. Which settings/fonts?

that's how it looks zoom out at 60%
at that % I can't read shit, everything is tiny.

windows has nice bitmap fonts, linux/osx don't. helvetica looks good at 12, 10, and 8 pt, but anything larger or smaller looks like total shit. lucida sans looks good at 12 and 10 pt only and times looks like shit no matter what. the only good bitmap fonts in the *nix world are monospaced, this is something that windows does better than anyone. fighting with fontconfig to control font size for helvetica is a waste of time because it never actually works in the end. fonts are my biggest gripe with linux.

The point of good font rendering is to look nice on shit resolutions, on higher resolutions any smoothing looks ok.
Font is ubuntu with full hinting

On a 1080p monitor that's as big as my font.
That's a fair comparison of font rendering.

I have a 1440p 27" monitor, maybe it's time to change your old 1080p
I changed a month ago, never going back to 1080p

My old 1080p is a 15" laptop. I have an higher pixel density.

1080p on 15"
damn, I can feel your pain

>windows

>Activities
no. just no.

FHD at 12.5 and fonts looks amazing in Windows.

People seriously care about idiotic shit like this? It all looks exactly the same to me, but then again I don't have autism.

Every picture of bullshit text in this thread looks EXACTLY THE SAME. They fuck are you dipshits even talking about?
