Why are earphones so fucking expensive, even the cheapest ones?

Why can't I buy 10 for $3 like I buy socks?

I'm not a fucking audiopedophile to spend real money on this shit!

This is a gift for someone who is trying to replace their ATH-MX40s. I have experience with the SHP9500s which I bought 2 years ago and think they are awesome and comfy. not sure if there is anything that beats it these days.

oh NO NO NO NO NO
CHINKED

There's nothing natural or comfortable about putting something inside your ear canal.

That's funny coming from you.
You stick cocks in your ears all the time

Whatever you say, soundstagelet

Rate my brother's cans

yikes/10

>natural
There is nothing """""natural""""" about isolating your entire ear either.

It's not that far removed from wearing an article of clothing that covers the head or ears (which is something humans have done for a long time). Headphones are much better to wear than IEMs, that's all I'm saying.

>d-don't use qtips you'll impact your ears with earwax it's unnatural
>etymotics are the best! normal iems are great too!

Who are you quoting?

I prefer the portability and isolation. For portable use anyway.

>Who are you quoting?
literally every IEM user. I can't wait for the studies to come out that say IEMs cause ear infections

Okay now rate my cans

you post in here for the sole reason of annoying the posters here don't you?

yikes/10

Earbuds are based, gonna order myself some Toneking TO600s soon, already have the TO400S.

>400s

Aesthetically pleasing but maybe overkill for me. I want to buy the Svara L.

Just bought the Aeon flow open, will fit right in with my DT 1990s. Preferred the aeons over the Hd800.

Attached: images-9.jpg (443x332, 17K)

I have those too, pretty high third harmonic distortion for an earbud in its price range. Subjectively they sound fine, really wide and take EQ decently though the bass will still be lacking.

i've heard the fit similar enough to the yuin / docomo shell and that's the only thing I find comfortable. I hate anything thicker and don't like any mx500 shells. all the "unique" shells (ebx etc.) are usually too expensive for me to want to gamble on.

Rate my headphones

What amp

ok my fucking dx3 pro comes TOMORROW
ARE YOU FUCKERS TELLING ME I PAID 200 DOLLARS FOR A SHITTY AMP THAT CLICKS ALL THE GODDAMN TIME

lmao that shed

well on the bright side you might not have to endure that for too long after it dies in 2 days lol (mine arrives monday, hope they fix the clicking thing)

Srm-006t

I managed to find a 240 AC to 12v DC 500ma 6va linear powers supply and reversed polarity by cutting and re-soldering the wire. Works a charm.

Make sure you use a good stepdown transformer then.

Meant for

Attached: w.jpg (900x600, 85K)

so skimming over the top chink players, the NiNTAUS X10 Music Player seems to be the longest lasting, claiming 60 hours max idle playing time. I'm suprised how many of the better players with more fancy hardware can't even break 10 hours playback. I guess that makes sense for someone who just wants to listen to their memphones for a bit then recharge back at home. personally I like a device that I know will never be dead on battery. my ruizu x02 lasts about 24 hours but the button layout annoys me and it's breaking besides. might get this next.

are bluetooth earbuds a meme
kind of want the convenience of having no cables for biking but dubious about the actual quality of sub 100 dollar bluetooth buds

skip out on the extra amp or w/e that is completely useless for IEMs and stack it with a power bank instead

No wires are convenient, yes. Inconveniences include having to charge them, battery dying over time, and possibly inferior audio quality but this can be irrelevant in many portable setups.

You could just buy a bt receiver and use existing wired headphones with that.

so what

Attached: boss of hpg.jpg (900x1200, 225K)

it doesn't have balanced out, just line out. I plan to use these with cheap IEMs so I don't think I need "better quality audio" from the balanced meme and DSD/24 bit memes. only supports up to 128gb though which sucks. honestly I use my pmp for audiobooks half the time, which can take up a lot of space even when you tank the audio quality to save.

>it doesn't have balanced out
does nothing
>DSD/24 bit memes
literally worse than PCM

>everything I've never experienced is dumb and a meme

zzz

Based t2s

Attached: IMG_20181202_025840.jpg (3480x4640, 3.06M)

but he's right, they are memes

24 bit is a meme for playback: xiph.org/~xiphmont/demo/neil-young.html
And balanced is also a meme: benchmarkmedia.com/blogs/application_notes/audio-myth-balanced-headphone-outputs-are-better

I wish more players supported opus, isn't that the most efficient format? but I guess you need rockbox to play it, since ogg isn't the same, right?

I remember someone made an alternative audio player for the PSP that let you play mp3 through a different engine. I can't remember the name but it let you play mp3 with the CPU clocked as low as 20mhz (down from 300), almost doubling battery life. I wonder what is the most efficient format/decoding in terms of power use?

are T2 too bright? the measurements look good but I have such a bad track record with ear-rape IEMs. I'm thinking of buying something outright rolled off like the re400. I don't dislike treble, just annoying peaks.

some players have balanced ports that are actually better for some reason

i love them desu. i was thinking the treble was just barely too much but it's only when i focus on the sound, if i listen normally it's a non-issue.

they're better more because they skimp out on the SE output rather than because of any inherent advantage in going balanced
properly designed SE and properly designed balanced sound the same

balanced is only good for more voltage in a smaller form factor, but you don't need a strong amp to drive IEMs so it's useless anyways but w/e. it's not the worst thing to buy it's useful for EQ

if you want battery life your best bet is a 1080p rooted android phone with a 5000mah battery installed

What is a good open headphone that has a decent amount of bass, sub bass, AND soundstage. No stax and hd600 meme please

Attached: 1542646810606.jpg (768x1024, 106K)

Fidelio X2? Not many bassy open headphones in your price range. You could always use EQ to boost the bass.

seconding x2s, you can do one better and see if you can still get x2hr from china for 160-170 (they go for 300 domestically)

use the rest for a dx3 pro or something, they are easy to drive tho

why are they so cheap from chyna?
