>Cheap

$100 is still too expensive, I paid $90 for 2x4GB 8 months ago.

>hodling RAM

You can find a better deal with ease. And faster speeds

>2400MHz
Pay cheap, get cheap.

>ram
>cheap

Huh? Ram has been increasing for years.

since a week ago on friday. i got 16GB 3000Mhz for 105 shipped

>2400@15cl, 1.2v
>easily overclocks to 3000 17cl 1.35v, maybe even 1.2
>HURRR PAY MORE FOR 3000@17CL 1.35V
retard

$100 is still expensive to me. I remember when you could pick up 16GB DDR3 1600 for only $60

lmao I paid 59.99 for 2x4gb ddr4 2400

>$90 for 8GB is a better deal than $100 for 16GB

>DDR3

You still can.

>ECC server only memory

I was talking about home consumer RAM.

Why not run ecc at. Home? No disadvantages

ecc ram is slower
also the necessary system required for ddr3 ecc ram is expensive as fuck

>he thinks ram speed is important

used to be able to get this for $40 desu

need to go out of your way to find a server motherboard.

3000 mhz CL 17 is trash wtf.

Also, its seriously unlikely youd get a 600 MHz OC on bottom tier memory.

There is a reason its 2400 mhz. And if you did somehow hit 3000mhz, it'd probably be at some trash timings that result in lower performance than stock.

OP is a single stick though

this was the cheapest i could buy at the time

The point is that it's still too expensive.

I got 4x4GB for $80 back in 2012. As far as I'm concerned the exact same amount of RAM for 125% the price is still a rip-off.

1.35v memory is trash in general. 1.2v 3000+ is rare and actually expensive. only idiots go above 2666 1.2v 14cl, which is what i have and easily does [email protected] 16cl, but guess what. i don't need it at those speeds.

>G.Skill
That's because it's shit, user

There's only 3 DRAM manufacturers that are relevant you turbonigger
Samsung
SK Hynix
Micron
like 98% of all DRAM is made by them, like that GSkill.

Fell for the 32GB meme back in 2015... Had to pay 410 USD for 4*8GB. Feels good hombre

Why would you even care about the relative speed of RAM unless you're running an APU or do work related shit ?
You can barely tell the difference between extreme OC RED LED 3999 DDR4 and standard 1033 DDR3.

Depends completely on what you're doing. Some games, like fallout4 depends a lot on memory speed, on all platforms. For ryzen, the infinity fabric runs at the same speed as the ram, so it matters in more cases.

It's shit. You must be over 18 to browse this website.
