its too narrow, how can you live trying to read with that garbage letterboxing?
3:2 was fucking ideal for text, shame it stopped being used out of garbage formats like chromebooks or surface.
i used to have an ancient 3:2 compag notebook but that crapped out in 2012, all i can manage anymore is dual 4:3 panels (i.e 4:6)
and 1024x1536 is still garbage at just over three-quarters the real estate of a modern monitor.

I used to use them in the early 2000s. As soon as switched to firefox and tabs would just stack indefinitely I ended up using the size of my window to tell myself to stop or reduce. Now i'm so used to it that the old sidebar just seems like a waste of space. But its probably more efficient since you can actually read your tabs.

4:3 and 3:2 are the two monitor ratios closest to this optimum fov.
interestingly, 3:2 in particular is a decent approximation to the golden ratio, as well as being the ratio of two primes and a ratio of sucessive integers (like 4:3 and 5:4)

I'm a programmer, I need a GPU so I can run and debug shit, but I don't need a killer GPU. As for the ram, I usually use up to 70% of it because of my tmp filesystem and browsers. Having your tmp on the ram makes emerging packages faster.
