>runs tcpdump >loads firefox, sees it connecting to aws instances >telemetry disabled >safe browsing disabled >those shitty top/recent sites pane disabled >can't get it to stop connecting when launching firefox .. >runs firejail --private firefox to see what it's like on a clean, fresh install >it's even worse. connections scrolling by to us-west, eu-west aws, cloudfront, etc. >only way to launch this fucking browser with no network connections is to run firejail --net=none
This is absolutely disgusting. You cannot escape the botnet. Fuck you AWS, Cloudfront, and Google.

google chrome is the best, fastest choice despite the fact that it can really eat up memory.

im getting tired with firefox and web content, i have to block fucking popups on every single site and then force scrolling in the about:config, the fucking spam is real
It takes several months after the old ESR is dropped for the new one to come out. But with ESR 60, it won't be as bad as back when ESR 52 was for icecat.

Iridium is Ungoogled Chromium maintained by a corporation. So you don't have an excuse now.
All absolute trash Waterfox is a scam and outdated. Brave is a scam. Bad UI/UX. ugChromium is chromium which is shit. Bad UI/UX.

>waterfox spyware.neocities.org/articles/waterfox.html It does nothing other than disable a couple of about:config entries you can yourself. It's original purpose was to provide a 64bit Firefox version when Mozilla wasn't compiling to 64bit, which they started to do over half a decade ago. It's useless now and waterfox devs only spread FUD. It's also 7 versions behind Firefox and 4 versions behind ESR Firefox. It's not even at quantum.
Jayden Morgan
The reason why you believe there's no good alternatives is because you keep handwaving everything else as bad. Brave isn't a scam, the browser is great and fast, although I do wish they would kill off their currency system, it's such a waste of time and sounds like someone from 1980's vision of what a "good" internet is.

>brave Fingerprint protection doesn't work at all. It DOES change the WebGL fingerprint to "undetermined" and your canvas fingerprint is spoofed. But, nothing else is done to make your browser non-unique.
Tor tabs lack any additional anti-fingerprint methods. They don't isolate system fonts nor do they spoof your user agent or have a way to force the browser to a specific resolution uniform to all other Brave Tor users. Your desktop resolution is also revealed. This means tor tabs are completely useless as your privacy is trivial to breach. Brave users are a minority among Tor users, which means even when using a Tor tab you can be uniquely identified. The only thing you're able to mask is what website you visit, and that's only from your ISP. All ad companies and trackers still know which sites you visit in Tor tabs.
The Brave adblocker is trash compared to uBlock Origin. First, it seems to be based on AdBlockPlus which performs significantly worse than uBO. The performance is difference is massive if you enable any additional block lists in Brave's blocker. Which you have to because Brave's adblocker is not only inefficient, but also lacks a ton of filters by default and a lot of ads will still be displayed. Also, uBlock Origin blocks domains instead of just hiding ads, plus it has a script blocker and an element picker.
Brave is a scam. See The only thing excusing it is the fact it's not v1.0 yet.
Jeremiah Cook
Let's compare this to Firefox. 1. -Choose what to block --All Detected Trackers (disable) [keep DNT header disabled, you'll use uBO anyway] --Third-Party Cookies (enable), set to All
2. Under about:preferences#general -Language and Appearance --Fonts and Colours ---Advanced ----Allow pages to choose their own fonts (disable)
5. user-agent switcher set your user agent to "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; rv:60.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/60.0"
6. Set your current browser resolution to 1000x700.
You're done. If you follow this, you'll have the same fingerprint as Tor browser users and will be much more difficult to track and will pass the panopticlick test. If you were to enable Tor browsing in firefox you'd basically have true fingerprint protection.
imagine being a grown man talking about the bot net
