Is it time to say goodbye to the headphone jack? Is the world moving away from it? Can it still be relevant?

Is it time to say goodbye to the headphone jack? Is the world moving away from it? Can it still be relevant?

Shut it itoddler

Anyone who thinks that this is innovative in the slightest should kill themselves.

I try to justify the headphone jack going as a blackpill way to teach normies the powers of mid-fi audio, but I know they don't know or care.
shits depressing mane.

The future clearly is no cables at all.
> wireless charging
> BT headsets

why even put speakers and microphones into the phone? Can all be done by your BT headset.

how do we make apple the most valuable tech company again?

People still wanting headphone jacks for superior audio capabilities and because they want to charge their phone at the same time.

>But you can use blueto-

And Bluetooth is fucking shit.

>Is the world moving away from it?
For the NPC audio world and the gamer audio world, sure.
For the rest, any actual headphones use jack exclusively

3,5 mm is for autistic people who can't let go

>2018
>still needing a headphone jack
>not just buying wireless headphones/earbuds

Attached: 1543105646103.jpg (457x394, 43K)

Bluetooth is shit.

>throw out this thing that works
>instead, buy and use this thing that works much worse
>Muh future

>2018
>not using a 5K audio system for high resolution sound output
>buying iShit wireless hearing aids which make you look like a deaf retard

I would but the fact that most bluetooth sets either sound like shit, have terrible battery life, garbage range, or a mix of the few. Besides, why would you need headphones in public like some autist?

There's no benefit to using wireless unless you want to be away from your phone.

Yes it is relevant. And mostly, convenient

>not 5Ging stuff directly into your head

I never use headphones anymore. Everything is a bluetooth speakers. Doesn't matter to me. If you really can't deal with it, buy an MP3 player.

>headset

I hope you mean in-ear adaptive hearing aids. Easily adjustable via your phone or smart watch to give you normal to bionic man hearing abilities, an auto shutoff when excessively loud noises are detected so that they act like earplugs and protect you from hearing damage, Bluetooth capable so you can listen to music or phone calls with them...

High tech hearing aids are the secret that the boomers don't want you to know about, they want to keep that technology all to themselves.

All big name headsets last up to 30 hours, stop speaking out of your ass.

>remove jack because muh thickness
>don't utilize that thickness to beef up battery

I bet it is perfectly fine for you to charge your stupid watch every few days

Samsung will still release phones with jack.

the trrs port will die when a proper, truly superior replacement is implemented
>adapte--
no
>blueto--
no

It'll stick around on desktops but it's being rightfully removed from mobile devices. Single use ports just don't make sense when space is a factor.

In all honesty, I seriously believe the removal of the headphone jack was a prank some higher up at Apple came up with and decided to try out, watching whether normalfags would bite. And they did.
Anyone who supports removing such an essential feature should off themselves.

Why do porn actresses become such disgusting fat sows after about six months of popularity?
Look at her, she has completely ruined herself.

can BT 5.0 support lossless, or at least 320kbps MP3?

beats 0 second battery life of wired headphones.

So is the range, muh 30cm long cable.

Why do tards even think thickness matters? Id rather have a robust phone that’s durable and has a big battery

BT is just transport protocol, it can use whatever codec both endpoints support.

> be appletarded
> try to force an entire industry to abandon standards for headphones
> wonders why people think apple is fucking cancer
nobody is saying goodbye to a standard jack, you stupid fucking retard.
>Anyone who thinks that this is innovative in the slightest should kill themselves.
they should. it would be for the best.

>t. basement dweller

Theres a reason why every studio uses wired. Bluetooth latency is a mess

> future is no cables!
> oh boy! im looking forward to listening to music on my phone
> *tries to turn on headphones*
> fuck. battery is dead in my headphones. i have to charge them.
brilliant suggestion, zoomer cancer. wireless is so awesome.

I've never bought a device without a headphone jack and never will. I'm not gonna waste my time charging and pairing bluetooth garbage. Fuck yourself, iToddler.

OP's cellphone

Grandpa how many times do I have to tell you to put your headphones on a wireless charging surface when you aren't using them.

no jack no deal.

Chad headphone plug and virgin Airpods.

Fuck you, no reason to replace what works perfectly. I need it for my MDR-7506

How many time you Zoomer piece of shit needs to be told to not recharge anything over 30% of charge? Bluetooth is a joke

>Batteries haven't advanced in the past 30 years

watch out, the audiophiles will screech at you about superior sound quality or something like that even though at this point, wired and wireless sound nearly identical

no. no. yes.

>wired and wireless sound nearly identical
[citation needed]

Barely, compared to everything else. It's mostly getting hardware to use significantly less energy.

>not recharge anything over 30% of charge
What?

The future is wireless but the tech is not here yet to support it. It's the same like banning fuel powered cars without offering an affordable alternative for people to buy

Trash it. It’s awful.

>Assuming everyone has equivalent ear quality
It's scientifically proven to be better, but whether you can tell with your ears varies from person to person.

Old boomer meme about battery health. With current batteries literally just do whatever to them and it will handle it fine.

Why even put a phone into your phone when it can be a small power sipping touch screen tablet viewer of sorts and you can run a VM instance on a remote server and stream that to your device? Since the processing heavy tasks are handled by the server and the device is just streaming, you could do more while having a longer battery life.

my biggest concern with the lack of a headphone jack is power consumption. I owned a pixel 2xl for a few months before I switched to the op5t and just listening to a podcast for an hour uses like 15% of the battery. It takes a lot of power to run a the external DAC in the dongle. Same with powering a Bluetooth radio. I could care less about sound quality.

pretty sure battery degradation is still a thing, just not as much of a huge deal today

> The future clearly is no cables at all.
Yet Apple couldn't produce the already announced charging station because of housefires. You charge your gaypods with a lightning cable to the case.

>nobody is saying goodbye to the standard jack
Well except Apple, Sony, Asus, Google, Onplus, Xiaomi, HTC...

Battery degradation is a thing but you don't have to do pseudoscience charging rituals to maximize it. Just charge when you want to and minimize cycles.

>Sony, Asus, Xiaomi, HTC..
Only if you're a faggot buying premium shovelware that's competing with Applel.
>Google
with_jews_you_lose.tar.gz
>OnePlus
Chink meme with less than 1% market share.

The headphone jack is useless.
Normalfags will happily use cheap adapters or shitty wireless headphones, audiophiles use external dacs.
