/wt/ what happened to the comfy watch thread?
It was always stated that watched were technology. I miss the threads, need some insporation for another watch on my japan trip. Got the Orient Disc the last time, pretty fun watch, no homo though.

>/wt/ what happened to the comfy watch thread?
Moved to fashion for lack of real technical contents.

We saw the same pictures again and again and none of the regulars were willing to discuss horological technology and complications.

They are still over at /fa/

fags decided watches aren't technology even though they clearly are

There was a hell of a lot more technical discussion of watches on the old Jow Forums watch threads than you find on most non-specialist watch forums, honestly.

What actually happened is a few people decided to make a concerted collective effort to shortlist flood these threads to death until the mods kicked them to /fa/ so they wouldn't have to moderate them anymore.

Guess I'll head over to /fa/ then... My view of them are autistic nerds that buy chinese clothes from aliexpress and expect to look good.

Totally unlike the sophisticated followingof Jow Forums ...

The /fa/ threads are worse. Literally all talk about movements has died and we're getting some of the actual /fa/ posters flooding the threads

Jow Forums take us back please

Its a
shame, im purchasing old raketas and CTAPT and have noone to appreciate then and discuss how good were russians at copying western tech and where did they fall short.

It's aesthetically technology.

/wt/ was fucking cancer. They arent technology they are fashion especially when anyone posted a smartwatch and got ridiculed. Same reason we dont talk about classic cars on /n/ its all so tiresome

>implying micro electronics aren't technology.

Bruh the basedko male killed the watch industry and then moved on to smart watches

So if you spam a thread you don't like, you can make it go away?
Super.

>They arent technology they are fashion
Timekeeping is probably the oldest and one of the most diverse technologies in human history.

And if you want to argue that they are used as an aesthetic item, what about the desktop threads, battlestation threads, keyboard threads, ... ?
For instance, pic related is the OP pic for the current "battlestation thread".

The only cancer in /wt/ were the posters who wanted /wt/ to go away, so they spammed it with shit like "post wrist game", and actually succeeded.

>Timekeeping is probably the oldest and one of the most diverse technologies in human history.
That's not what the threads were about and you know it. "X is technology" isn't actually a valid reason to keep a thread on the board, since it can be applied to almost everything.
>what about the desktop threads, battlestation threads, keyboard threads, ... ?
You're completely right, these should all go too, except for the keyboard thread were people posting their keyboard to show off is a minor part and usually gets few (You)s: they're actually discussing keyboard technology. But the desktop and bst threads have nothing to do with technology.

We are on discord now (some are on /fa/ too)

>That's not what the threads were about and you know it.
Of course they were.
There was constant discussion about the movements, materials, etc.

>You're completely right, these should all go too
But they won't. And they shouldn't.
They were pretty much always there, and they fit within the context of the board's topic.

>except for the keyboard thread were people posting their keyboard to show off is a minor part and usually gets few (You)s: they're actually discussing keyboard technology
Keyboard technology is half a 4-week-old dog turd compared to watch technology.

>We are even more cringe then before
good to know

>There was constant discussion about the movements, materials, etc.
If you say so. Every time I came in I only saw people talking about what would look good on their wrist, what kind of strap to use, and what watches aren't shit. I guess the last one can qualify as technology.
>Keyboard technology is half a 4-week-old dog turd compared to watch technology.
What does that have to do with anything? OLD GOOD NEW BAD isn't an argument by which things can be judged as off-topic for this board.

>If you say so.
I know so.

>Every time I came in I only saw people talking about what would look good on their wrist, what kind of strap to use
That comes with the territory.
Not looking like an ass is a key consideration in a ton of areas, whether you're talking about watches, headphones, mobile phones, riced-out computer cases, ...
And watch straps are full of tech themselves, like dive watch extending clasps.

>What does that have to do with anything?
The keyboard thread is up 24/7, yet all the technology that goes in them can be covered in a handful of posts.
Therefore there can't be that much actual tech discussion.

Watches on the other hand are constantly evolving.

Niet

>Watches on the other hand are constantly evolving.
And have MUCH deeper tech to begin with, of course.
