Try buying dumb kettles retard

Just buy a regular kettle

>Oh wait you're probably American

I love being able to start my kettle while going back from work and coming back to a hot kettle ready for tea

Stop wasting money.

Have you ever baton your own firewood small enough so that you'd get enough firepower without destroying your pot?

You're not obliged to buy these retarded kettles faggot. A regular kettle that has a normal power outlet costs like 20$ at most.

My dad is a high level paraplegic and stuff like this is a life saver.

Ive dumped £10k into home automation for him.

He actually cried the first time he turned on the room lights with his voice.

People like your dad who don't contribute to society should be put down

woah.
i hope your mother suffers a stroke faggot

When yours gets one and you have to care for her too, then you'll realise that I was right and wish you'd listened to me.

Paraplegics contribute plenty.
Our priority should be culling people with sub 80 IQs like you.

>Paraplegics contribute plenty.
Be forcing everything to be made accessible for them and thus taking away resources from more important things?
>Our priority should be culling people with sub 80 IQs like you.
Agreed that we should do that. How about we start with those who can't distinguish between idiots and assholes?

>Le edgy pragmatist
Grow up

Lol OK.

And buy a normal kettle instead of starting your own botnet. IoT was a mistake

The best advice is to buy a normal one and make it "smart" on your own. nothing is inherently "wrong" with IoT, its just the hassle of setting up and companies can make more money adding meaningless functionality to common household goods, and the lack of security provided by these companies. If there is honestly a specific "need" to have a smart kettle for example, its just as easy to wire it up to the plethora of single board computers or microcontrollers on the market, and it's a lot cheaper/more secure too. Look up any youtube tutorial on this and they give you step by step instructions.
>inb4 /diy/

>mistake
Unless you are disabled

>just as easy
Perhaps, but that's providing you have the prerequisite technical knowledge.

I can set one up with an sbc and stuff, but the purchase and setup of the proprietary system took all of 20 mins (excluding delivery time).

Its another one of those "cheaper If your time is worthless" things

He's right, you know.

How do I connect this to my network? Teach me, senpai.

>need
Build your own when the time comes that you can't buy an appropriately intelligent kettle.

I personally wouldn't want to live in such state. What countries have euthanasia legalized?

I gave that one. After a few months it's a bit finicky with interfacing. I have to turn it ~a quarter turn to find where it connects well.
Otherwise I like it. Consider if you're the kind of person that bangs the kettle around because the glass is not very thick and will shatter on you if you throw it on the ground.

just throw some heat elements, a relay, and ESP32. boom IoT bro

>kettle gets infected with fireman.exe and sets fire to the house

I don't like you user.

Sure because burgers can use kettles

"smart" appliances are for dumb people

OP is a fag

If people dont know how to make it, or dont have the time to make it, but have a want or need for IoT products, nothing is stopping them from buying iot

>buys smart device
>complains about it
what did he mean by this?

Kek best response in thread

fuck off nigger

Thanks
Switzerland kind of
LOL mate your on 4chin nobody here gets liked

>People like your dad who don't contribute to society should be put down
Fucking brutal, topkek my man

If you buy shit like smartfridges and kettles you have too much money and you're part of the problem.

Why do you need a kettle? Just microwave your water.

>tell kettle to boil over wifi
>it sends me a notice when it's ready
>leave my weeaboo cave to go make a cup of tea

would be 200% comfy if hot water pots didn't already exist
