Linux? More like holy shit tux...

Linux? More like holy shit tux, your operating system sucks! I’d rather have Bill Gates unload a dump truck load of buffalo shit all over my face than have to ever set up a wifi card in Linux ever again! This operating system is fucking penguin shit!!!!

Works on my machine

I take it you've never done a straight vanilla windows install.

Google employee here, you're doing something wrong then.

From live stick with wlan or temporarily wired:
[emerge x firmware if needed for the card, enable in kernel if you were selective about kernel driver modules before]
reboot
connect with connman or whatever other network manager you are running

Always the same shit with wlan sticks or cards. Wow, so hard.

Currently installing on my Lenovo machine, wifi seemed to work out of the box. I don't even know what card it has in it, that's how confident I am in Shitnix these days. You can pretty much assume everything will work

You must be some special kind of stupid

This, I see people shitting on Linux here all day, but troubleshooting on windows is just as bad. I had to countless times search for wifi drivers on obscure websites in the past. Try buying new hardware and installing windows to see what I mean. You don't even have something like lspci to help you figure out the model.
And for troubleshooting, people will say editing a file or running a command in bash is bad, but how about adding a new key on windows register or running a command on powershell? It's the same shit or worse. I had a bad nvidia driver giving me blue screens the other day and I had to fucking install windows debugger, attach it only for it to report an error in a system component totally unrelated to nvidia. Fixed it by trial and error in the end. How intuitive.

You might have chosen a shitty distro. My laptop WiFi has iffy support, and is an epic undertaking in Fedora, but with Debian I simply install the firmware-b43-installer and the shit is gold.

fuck right off the internet you socialist cunt

The state of Jow Forums

He should make an episode about linux games like tux racer and super tux kart.

Bitch, I AM the Internet.

This would be pretty based

So define Linux since there's ten million flavors and versions...

>but troubleshooting on windows is just as bad
10/10 for bullshit.

>You don't even have something like lspci to help
Yeah, we have Device Manager, something infinitely more advanced.

>but how about adding a new key on windows register(sic)
reg add HKCU\user /v Faggot /d TRUE

> I had a bad nvidia driver giving me blue screens the other day and I had to fucking install windows debugger, attach it only for it to report an error in a system component totally unrelated to nvidia. Fixed it by trial and error in the end. How intuitive.
I'll take "Shit that never happened" for $1,000, Alex. Nothing you've said suggests you've achieved "intelligent Googling" level of troubleshooting. Using Windbg? Pull the other one.

Faggot >reckons he can use a kernel debugger
>doesn't know about device manager
>can't operate regedit
Absolute state of freetards.

Why do they call it a debugger when it doesn't remove bugs? That's like calling a a security camera a police officer.

Why do they call it an alarm, when it doesn't frighten you?

Then don't fucking use it and shut up you faggot

Why do they call it a fan when it doesn't buy extreme high-priced tickets to sportsball tournaments?
That's like calling a fish a bicycle.

use a dongle like a man. most distros got that shit ret-2-go
or startpage your drivers.

i just pm'd you the fix ;)

Why do they call homosexual men "gay"? Rarely have I met a more miserable, suicidal bunch of faggots.

>think I'll try out Linux I always see it taunted about by my fellow friends on Jow Forums
>lets see what it is
>seems people have issues with drivers on ocassion
>go ahead and install Arch
>while in chroot I open up Google to search about drivers
>run ls pci
>google my graphics card with linux
>seems kernel version X.XX supports it
>yup I got a version later than that
>google Arch drivers
>install packages for my ethernet controller
>do some more research before exiting chroot rebooting
>install amd-ucode
>set up noatime for my ext4 partitions
>install ALSA, mesa, xorg, etc.
>reboot

You really did say that? Like, unironically?

It literally took me within 2 hours to have everything set up first time installing GNU/Linux 4 months ago. How are people this bad at using technology
